Chapter 25: Is There Truly a Code in This World He Cannot Break?
She went to the household registration office.
She wanted to change her name.
She planned to change He Luo to Ye Luo.
She thought she would be called He Luo for a long time, perhaps even for her whole life, but she didn’t want to always be addressed as He Luo. That’s why she decided to come here and change her name.
Coincidentally, her mother’s surname was Ye, so changing her name to Ye Luo wasn’t a difficult matter.
After waiting in line for an hour, Ye Luo finally managed to submit her “name change application.”
However, it would take fifteen working days for the application to be reviewed and the name change to be official.
For now, Ye Luo didn’t intend to tell anyone about her name change. She thought it wouldn’t be too late to mention it after everything was confirmed.
After leaving the registration office, Ye Luo asked Uncle Tan, the driver, to take her back to the villa.
...
In the western suburbs of S City, nestled against the mountains and with water at its back, stood a solitary villa.
The villa was expansive, its high walls enclosing a property complete with a swimming pool, garden, and sports field—all the amenities one could wish for. Beyond the walls, the scenery was breathtaking, a sight of endless beauty.
This was Gong Lu’s private villa.
At this moment, Gong Lu was enjoying afternoon tea in the sunroom of the villa, feeling perfectly at ease.
Suddenly, his phone rang.
Glancing at the caller ID and seeing that it was Song Linfeng, he answered.
Song Linfeng’s anxious voice came through immediately: “President, there’s an urgent contract that needs your personal attention. I’ve already sent it to your email.”
“Wait.” With that, Gong Lu ended the call and headed toward the study.
But before he could enter, he heard Uncle Wang scolding a servant inside: “What’s wrong with you? I told you to be careful—everything in this study must be handled with the utmost attention, and now you’ve gone and dropped the most important computer. How am I supposed to explain this to sir?!”
Gong Lu frowned and, instead of going inside, stood at the doorway and asked, “Is there another computer here?”
Uncle Wang, startled by Gong Lu’s sudden appearance, quickly replied, “Yes, there’s a spare one, but it’s been moved to Miss Luo’s room. Miss Luo isn’t very good with computers, so I took the liberty to move it there for her to practice. But she’s been busy studying every day and hasn’t really used it. The computer’s just been sitting there—”
Before Uncle Wang could finish, Gong Lu strode toward Ye Luo’s room.
Seeing Gong Lu in such a hurry for the computer, Uncle Wang quickly followed.
When Gong Lu reached the computer, he turned it on.
But a password prompt appeared. He looked at Uncle Wang.
Uncle Wang, nervous to the point of tears, stammered, “I don’t know... It shouldn’t have a password. It’s always just turned on before. Did Miss Luo set one? But why would she do that...”
Gong Lu was in a hurry and didn’t waste words. He began typing rapidly, trying to crack the password. However, after five minutes, he still couldn’t unlock it.
Uncle Wang was dumbfounded, his eyes wide with disbelief.
There was nothing in this world his master couldn’t crack—so what was going on with this computer?!
Realizing that he wouldn’t be able to bypass the password, Gong Lu gave up and called Song Linfeng: “Handle that contract for now. I’ll send you a letter of authorization later.”
“Yes, President.”
After hanging up, Gong Lu stared at the password prompt on the screen for about half a minute before shutting down the computer and walking out.
As he left Ye Luo’s room, he instructed, “Do not mention to her that I tried to use this computer.”
Though he didn’t understand why, Uncle Wang immediately complied, “Yes, sir.”
