Chapter 7: I Will Never Like You, So You Might As Well Give Up Now
With a slight movement of his wrist, he gently swirled the wine glass, and the crimson liquid spun into a mesmerizing whirlpool inside, seductive and bewitching. It cast his already enchanting face into an even more devilish light.
After quite some time, Gong Lu finally took a slow sip of red wine. Then he looked toward Father An and Mother An. “For the sake of my mother, there won't be a next time.”
In other words, this time would be forgiven.
Father An and Mother An, whose hearts had been suspended with anxiety, could finally breathe a sigh of relief. Though they cursed Gong Lu inwardly for teasing them to the brink of collapse, their faces bloomed with joy as they promised, “Rest assured, Ah Lu. We will discipline Qianqian well from now on. There definitely won't be a next time!”
Once Father An and Mother An had left, Gong Lu took another sip of wine. Lifting his eyes, he noticed Ye Luo standing at the top of the staircase on the second floor, though he hadn’t noticed her arrive.
Ye Luo's face remained expressionless.
Gong Lu raised one eyebrow, teasing, “So you have a crush on me.”
Ye Luo looked at him as though she were staring at a corpse.
Gong Lu laughed, took another sip, and finally set down his glass. Rising to his feet, his gaze turned cold. “I will never like you. You can give up now.”
With that, he didn’t bother to see how Ye Luo reacted. He strode out the door with long legs.
He had matters to attend to.
Song Linfeng hurried after him.
Ye Luo finally spoke, calling out, “Gong Lu!”
It was Gong Lu, not Brother Gong Lu…
Gong Lu stopped in his tracks, but a smile tugged at his lips. Interesting~
Song Linfeng’s eyes widened instantly; he turned to look at Ye Luo in disbelief.
Uncle Wang and the servants all turned their heads toward the staircase, equally shocked. Miss Luo was truly courageous today, daring to call their employer by name…
Before Gong Lu could turn around, Ye Luo, her tone flat, said, “I want to make a deal with you.”
“A deal?” Gong Lu turned, tilting his head to look at Ye Luo, a hint of amusement in his eyes.
Ye Luo descended the stairs, calm and unhurried, and stood before Gong Lu without any expression. “Are you interested?”
Gong Lu's lips curled as his phoenix eyes swept Ye Luo from head to toe. “Go on, let's hear it.”
“You help me transfer to the science class (Class 19) in Senior Year at Seventh High. In return, I'll do something for you in the future.” She wasn’t He Luo, and could not beg him for help as He Luo had done.
Moreover, she had never begged anyone.
For her, only transactions existed.
Gong Lu wasn't curious about why she wanted to transfer schools; he merely raised his eyebrow. “What can you do for me?”
“That depends on what you need help with in the future.”
“Sorry,” Gong Lu crossed his arms, “Even if I needed help, I wouldn’t ask you.”
Ye Luo was taken aback. She had never failed in a transaction before. This was the first time.
Gong Lu continued, “I never make deals with anyone.”
He finished and turned to leave.
Ye Luo lowered her eyes in disappointment. So that's how it is.
“However, I can help you with this.”
Ye Luo was about to head upstairs to think of another solution, but upon hearing this, she immediately turned to look toward the foyer, only to catch a glimpse of the man’s figure disappearing through the doorway.
Outside the villa, at the foot of the steps, several black luxury cars were parked in a row. Black-clad bodyguards stood on either side of each vehicle. Before Gong Lu even reached the bottom, a bodyguard opened the car door respectfully to welcome him.
Song Linfeng followed closely behind.
Hesitating for a moment, he couldn’t hold back and spoke, “President, it seems you don’t dislike Miss He Luo as much anymore.”
