Inside a black Maybach gliding along the asphalt road, Gong Lu had been lounging against the back seat, eyes half-closed, listening with weary ease as Song Linfeng, seated in the front passenger seat, reported the afternoon’s schedule.

They were headed to the company.

Then his phone rang.

But the phone was with Song Linfeng at the moment, so he paid it no mind and did not even lift his eyelids.

When Song Linfeng heard it ring, he quickly took it out to see the caller ID: Halfwit. Only then did he answer and pass it back over his shoulder. “It’s Wuqi calling.”

Gong Lu still did not open his eyes. He simply took the phone Song Linfeng handed him and brought it to his ear.

The moment it touched his ear, he heard Ye Wuqi’s voice rush out in a panic. “Brother Lu, He Luo’s gone crazy, absolutely crazy! She’s really gone and changed her name to mine!”

At the words changed her name to mine, the man who had just been resting with his eyes closed suddenly opened them.

It startled Song Linfeng in the front seat. This man never gave a warning when he stopped pretending, and there he went, startling him again!

“What is your surname?” Gong Lu asked with a blank expression, his tone utterly flat.

He was entirely unlike his usual seductive, demonic allure.

It was as though he were a different person.

On the other end of the phone, Ye Wuqi heard this and immediately said, “Brother Lu, have you lost your mind? My surname is Ye! I told you not to save my contact name as Halfwit, but you insisted. Look, I’m not the one who’s gone stupid yet—you are, not even knowing my surname!”

Gong Lu only said one word. “Ye…”

Then he fell silent.

Ye Wuqi did not notice that something was wrong with him and hurried on, “Exactly, Ye! My surname is Ye! That girl He Luo has changed hers to Ye too. She said her mother’s surname is Ye, so she went and changed it, but the others all say she did it because she’s become obsessed with me!”

At last, Gong Lu smiled.

That was the name.

It really was her.
