Jiang Muwen’s soft, delicate voice fell into Wen Yichen’s ears. Looking at her reflection in the mirror, Wen Yichen was momentarily stunned as well. It was as though a startled deer had darted through his heart. He lowered his head and gently licked the clear surface of the water, sending ripples spreading outward.

Yet Wen Yichen gave no reply. His warm, broad hand remained over Jiang Muwen’s eyes, and he could even feel her lashes trembling faintly beneath his palm.

Jiang Muwen did not quite understand why Wen Yichen was covering her eyes so tightly. Perhaps he was afraid she would see him completely naked.

As she pondered this, she suddenly felt a force behind her pushing her slowly forward. With darkness before her eyes, Jiang Muwen instinctively raised a hand, wanting to grab hold of something. Unexpectedly, the moment she lifted it, her fingers closed around Wen Yichen’s bare arm.

Her heart seemed to miss a beat. She froze for a moment as the warmth of his arm seeped into her palm, then into her skin, rushing rapidly through her veins. Heat spread through her body, and her fingertips trembled lightly. She stood there, looking somewhat lost.

“Wen Yichen…”

At last, Jiang Muwen softly called the young man behind her once more.

“Mm.”

His low, husky response sounded as though it had been hummed from deep in his throat.

His voice came from just behind her ear, making her body tingle.

“Wh-what are you going to do?”

Finally, with her ears flushed red, Jiang Muwen asked in a timid voice.

As soon as she finished speaking, the force pushing her seemed to stop. The air fell silent. A moment later, a warm breath brushed against the back of her ear, repeatedly sweeping over her sensitive earlobe and making her shiver instinctively.

“What do you think?”

His deep voice instantly sent Jiang Muwen’s imagination running wild. In those few brief seconds, images of everything that should—and should not—happen in a bathroom flashed through her mind like fragments of a film.

“I…I don’t know.”

She was nervous, but beneath that nervousness seemed to lie a trace of anticipation that should not have been there.

“Wait for me outside,” he said calmly, shattering all her fantasies.

“Oh.”

Jiang Muwen slowly lowered the hands that had been holding Wen Yichen’s arm. The next second, another force gently guided her forward, step by step.

The sound of the sliding door reached her ears, and moments later, she was led out of the bathroom.

“Count to three before opening your eyes.”

Wen Yichen’s voice drifted over from behind her. Only after Jiang Muwen acknowledged him did he slowly lower the hand covering her eyes.

The warmth of Wen Yichen’s palm seemed to linger over her eyelids. After obediently answering with a soft hum, Jiang Muwen began counting silently.

As soon as she counted to three, the sound of the sliding door reached her ears once more.

She opened her eyes. Only after the heat inside her gradually faded did Jiang Muwen begin to feel the chill coming from her back and shoulders. When Wen Yichen had pressed against her from behind just now, he had dampened her clothes. They were not soaking wet, but the faintly clammy feeling was truly uncomfortable.

Jiang Muwen instinctively turned her head, trying to see how wet her back was. However, even after twisting her neck as far as it would go, she still could not see it.

After struggling for a while, she gave up. Just as she was feeling uncomfortable, the sliding door opened again.

Wen Yichen emerged.

Jiang Muwen instinctively turned around and saw the young man appear before her once more. His current appearance was completely different from how he had looked in the bathroom moments earlier. He was dressed in a white shirt, its clean fabric concealing the muscles he had exposed before her. Yet the sight of him amid the hazy steam remained vividly etched in her memory.

His slightly damp hair, along with those indistinct lines of muscle—there had truly been a moment when Jiang Muwen wanted to reach out and run her hand downward along the contours of his abdomen.

Now she simply stood before Wen Yichen in a daze, her thoughts drifting farther and farther away.

Seeing that Jiang Muwen was lost in thought, Wen Yichen instinctively furrowed his sharp brows.

“Jiang Muwen, what are you thinking about?”

His question pulled all of Jiang Muwen’s thoughts back. She abruptly came to herself and looked at Wen Yichen, letting out an instinctive, “Huh?”

Before Wen Yichen could repeat his earlier question, Jiang Muwen quickly spoke again. She certainly could not tell him what she had really been thinking, so she hastily found an excuse. As she spoke, she twisted the corner of her clothes and turned away, presenting her back to him.

“I…I think my back is wet.”

The fabric behind her was indeed damp. After Wen Yichen had pressed against her just now, a large portion of it had become patchily wet. Hearing this, Wen Yichen seemed suddenly to remember something. He looked at Jiang Muwen, and his cheeks grew warm despite himself. His clear eyes held a trace of discomposure, making him look very much like a child who had done something wrong but did not dare admit it.

“Is it uncomfortable?”

Wen Yichen did not take any credit for the situation. He asked indirectly, and seeing Jiang Muwen’s uneasy expression, he did not pursue the matter.

“Wait here. I’ll get the hair dryer and dry it for you.”

Although the weather had begun to warm gradually, he was still worried that Jiang Muwen might catch a cold with her back remaining damp.

Before long, he took a hair dryer from a nearby drawer. After expertly plugging it in, he pulled Jiang Muwen down to sit beside the bed.

A moment later, the hum of the dryer reached Jiang Muwen’s ears. Warm air flowed over her back, bringing heat to the skin that had just begun to feel cool.

Most people helped dry someone’s hair, but Wen Yichen was helping dry her clothes instead. The thought made Jiang Muwen let out a soft giggle. This kind of special treatment was probably something very few people ever had the chance to experience.

Her laughter was quiet, easily drowned out by the sound of the hair dryer. Before Wen Yichen, all he saw was the girl’s body tremble slightly. Instinctively, he lowered the airflow by one setting. Taking advantage of the gentler noise, he asked,

“Did I burn you?”

His question slowly brought Jiang Muwen’s thoughts back.

“No.”

“If it feels too hot, tell me.”

As he spoke, Wen Yichen moved the hair dryer slightly higher. Seeing that the fabric over Jiang Muwen’s shoulder was still somewhat damp, he raised a hand, intending to lift the material and dry it properly.

His fingertips inadvertently brushed across Jiang Muwen’s neck. The next instant, a tingling sensation spread from that spot, making her instinctively straighten her body.

“Wen Yichen…”
