Yu Chengfei noticed that Cui Shangkai clearly had something on his mind and grinned, “Looks like you have an idea. Tell me.”

Cui Shangkai seemed to have been harboring this thought for a while; he blurted out, “Master Fei, if we’re going to do it, let’s do it thoroughly.”

Yu Chengfei kept smiling, watching Cui Shangkai, waiting for him to continue.

Cui Shangkai went on, “Master Fei, I’m willing to invest money and effort to kidnap Chen Yang’s wife, Qin Muxue, and threaten him to destroy all evidence against your Yu family.”

Yu Chengfei was taken aback, and not lightly.

He hadn’t expected this timid-looking kid to be so ruthless when pushed.

However, when it came to kidnapping Qin Muxue, Yu Chengfei hesitated and looked at Cui Shangkai with a smile, “Are you serious?”

Cui Shangkai’s face was earnest. “Absolutely serious. Very serious.”

“But have you thought about the consequences?” Yu Chengfei asked, staring into Cui Shangkai’s resolute eyes.

Cui Shangkai let out a grim laugh. “Master Fei, I’m already in a bad spot. How much worse could it get?”

Seeing how determined Cui Shangkai was, Yu Chengfei considered for half a minute, then nodded. “Alright, you do it. If you can destroy all the evidence Chen Yang has against the Yu family, then you, Cui Shangkai, are one of us. If anything happens to you, the Yu family will take responsibility. And if anyone dares cross you, they’re crossing the entire Yu family.”

“Thank you, thank you, Master Fei,” Cui Shangkai said gratefully. Though he wasn’t sure if Yu Chengfei would keep his promise, he was unwavering in his resolve to kidnap Qin Muxue and threaten Chen Yang.

His hatred for Chen Yang ran deep; this was his revenge, his way to secure the Yu family’s backing and eliminate Chen Yang.

The plan to kidnap Qin Muxue was set.

Afterward, Cui Shangkai stayed for a meal at the Yu residence and left at two in the afternoon.

Once back in Linhai City, he immediately began assembling his team to carry out the plan.

He had only confided this plan to Yu Chengfei; no one else knew.

He understood the nature of what he was doing—nothing to be publicized—so he kept it secret.

Meanwhile, Chen Yang was diligently working in the office of Huading Corporation.

He was completely unaware of the collusion between Cui Shangkai and Yu Chengfei, or the kidnapping plot against his wife.

That evening, Chen Yang returned home and shared a few lighthearted moments with Qin Muxue.

But the next day at noon, while taking a nap at his desk, his phone buzzed loudly, waking him.

Curious, he looked at the screen—a number he didn’t recognize.

He thought for a moment before answering, “Hello, who’s this?”

“Your surname is Chen, right?” A sinister male voice came through.

Chen Yang sensed the hostility, furrowing his brow, “Yes, that’s me. What’s this about?”

“What’s it about? Your wife is in our hands right now. What do you think it’s about?” The man sneered.

Chen Yang’s mind spun.

He hadn’t given the call much thought at first—never imagining it would be a kidnapping.

Though deeply worried for Qin Muxue’s safety, he forced himself to remain calm.

Giving himself three seconds to steady his nerves, he asked, “How’s my wife now?”

“How she is depends on whether you cooperate. If you cooperate, fine. If not, well, she’s quite a looker…” the man taunted.

Anger flared inside Chen Yang, but he held it down and said, “Alright, I’ll cooperate fully. What do you want from me? Money? Something else?”

“We don’t need money, but I know you have some evidence against the Yu family, right? How many copies have you backed up?” the man asked.

Chen Yang immediately understood who was behind this—the Yu family.

But he knew this wasn’t the time to dwell on that.

His priority was rescuing Muxue.

He replied softly, “I don’t have backups. One copy on my phone, one on my computer, one on a USB drive—three in total. That’s all.”

“That’s impressive. How did you get these materials?” the man pressed.

Chen Yang lied calmly, “I have a friend who specializes in this kind of work. I asked him for help.”

He had to conceal the truth; he couldn’t reveal he had two hacker subordinates.

“Friend? What friend?” the man demanded.

Chen Yang said lightly, “You probably don’t know him. If you want, I can introduce you.”

“Intro my ass. I don’t care about that. You’ve got half an hour to destroy all the evidence. After that, I’ll send someone to check. If you’ve deleted everything, good. But if I catch you trying to cheat me, you’ll never see your wife again. Understand?” the man threatened loudly.

“Understood. I’m scared but I’ll cooperate fully,” Chen Yang answered seriously.

Meanwhile, the kidnapper didn’t know that Chen Yang had just sent a text message to Wang Xu with the kidnapper’s number.

After that, Chen Yang sent another message: “This number belongs to a kidnapper holding my wife. Please urgently track the location and all details of this number. Speed is crucial.”

Having sent the messages, Chen Yang comforted the kidnapper, “Okay, I’ll delete everything now. I promise, all deleted.”

“You better be honest with me,” the man said coldly before hanging up.

Chen Yang put his phone down and stood up with a heavy heart.

He paced to the window, previously admiring the blue sky and white clouds, but now he had no mood for it.

His mind was filled with anxiety and hope that Wang Xu would quickly find the kidnapper’s location so he could rescue Qin Muxue.

But could Wang Xu find the kidnapper’s location swiftly? Chen Yang doubted it.

He stood quietly by the window for ten minutes before his phone vibrated.

He turned quickly and saw it was Wang Xu calling. His eyes brightened, thinking Wang Xu might have found them.

He answered immediately.

Wang Xu’s voice was serious: “Mr. Chen, I found it. The number is currently in the abandoned Sishui Factory in Daxing District. There are no active companies nearby. Your wife is surely inside.”

“Sishui Factory? Got it,” Chen Yang said decisively.

He hung up and hurriedly left the office, consumed by thoughts of rescuing her.

He got into a black Mercedes, started it, set the GPS, and sped onto the road at sixty miles per hour.

He applied all his racing driving skills.

Normally, it would take at least forty minutes to reach Sishui Factory from Huading Corporation.

Chen Yang did it in twenty.

He parked in front of the factory and quickly got out.

His phone buzzed—it was the kidnapper calling again.

He answered.

The man asked coldly, “Deleted all the evidence?”

“Yes,” Chen Yang whispered, careful not to raise his voice and endanger Muxue.

“Good. My men are on their way. Don’t try anything funny,” the man warned.

Chen Yang smiled coldly, “I won’t. Absolutely no tricks.”

The man hung up.

Chen Yang pocketed the phone and surveyed the scene.

The factory gates were locked, but two windows to the right had broken glass.

Confident in his skills, he planned to shatter the glass and enter.

He bent down to pick up some stones.

He intended to use them as weapons.

For a master like him, a stone thrown from his hand was as lethal as a bullet.
