“Sigh… what a tragedy,” Qin Muxue remarked with a sigh. Of course, the ones she considered tragic were none other than her uncle’s family.

Chen Yang had little to say about this. After all, he couldn’t be bothered anymore. With his current strength, if Qin Guofu’s family wanted to make trouble for him, it was nothing short of wishful thinking.

“Well, finally the wicked reap what they’ve sown. Honey, let’s go home,” Chen Yang said with a smile.

“Don’t call me ‘honey.’ It sounds so strange,” Qin Muxue suddenly replied.

“Alright, alright.” Chen Yang nodded indulgently, not inclined to argue with her over this. If she didn’t want him to call her that, so be it—she was his wife regardless.

“Oh, right.” As they left the villa together, Chen Yang suddenly recalled the top-tier villa he’d bought and smiled at Qin Muxue. “Your birthday’s next month, isn’t it? I’ll give you a big present then.”

“A big present?” Qin Muxue looked at him curiously.

Chen Yang smiled slightly. “Since it’s a big gift, wouldn’t it be boring if I told you now?”

Qin Muxue gave him a long, thoughtful look. “Alright, I’ll wait.”

After that, they each went off to their respective companies for work.

That evening, they returned home one after the other. As soon as Chen Yang entered, his mother-in-law Han Qin unexpectedly called out to him. “Hey.”

Chen Yang hadn’t expected his mother-in-law to speak to him first. He found it rather amusing and chuckled, “Mom, you’re feeling better?”

“Cut the nonsense. Let me ask you, why did President Shen listen to you today? He came over just because you called?” Han Qin questioned.

Hearing this, Chen Yang shrugged helplessly. “Mom, what are you saying? How could President Shen come just because I called? Do you think he’s my personal bodyguard? He only came because he was upset after hearing about what happened.”

“Think about it. If you were President Shen and heard rumors about yourself being inappropriate with another woman, would you be happy?”

Han Qin had to admit his explanation made sense. She’d suspected Chen Yang might have offered Shen Donghua some kind of benefit in private, but Chen Yang’s words sounded reasonable enough.

At that moment, Qin Guoshan, seated on the sofa, chimed in, “Big brother just went to scold President Shen and even accused Muxue of having that kind of relationship with him. How could he think of something like that?”

“Enough, enough,” Han Qin grumbled, frowning. “Whatever happens in their family, it’s none of our concern. We just need to do our duty as children and take good care of your father’s health.”

Qin Guoshan frowned in agreement, saying no more.

The following afternoon, Chen Yang had nothing pressing at Huading Corporation. Remembering his investment in Lijing Hotel, he decided to drop by for a casual inspection to see how business was going and what the environment was like—essentially, a low-key visit.

Around noon, as he arrived at the hotel entrance, he unexpectedly spotted Qin Muxue coming out, flanked by two assistants, her expression grave.

Chen Yang’s first instinct was to avoid her. After all, he was only there to check on things and had never expected to run into her at the door.

Just as he was about to slip away, Qin Muxue had already seen him. With no way out, Chen Yang put on a smile and walked over. “Hey, Muxue.”

Qin Muxue looked at him in surprise, frowning slightly. “What are you doing here?”

“Oh, I was just delivering food nearby. I’m free now, so I thought I’d wander around,” Chen Yang replied with a slight smile.

“I see.” Qin Muxue nodded.

In the past, she would have lost interest in the conversation after a few words, but recently, Chen Yang’s behavior had impressed her, making her willing to talk a little longer.

At that point, Chen Yang became curious about her reason for being there. “By the way, what brings you here?”

“The company’s having a get-together, so I came to reserve a table. But another company beat me to it. Never mind, I’ll check out another hotel,” Qin Muxue said.

“Really? Lijing Hotel is the most upscale place in Linhai. Holding your company event here would be pretty impressive,” Chen Yang said with a chuckle.

Qin Muxue frowned. “Yes, but what’s the use? The room I wanted is already taken. I’ll just look elsewhere. Bye.”

With that, she and her assistants left. Watching her go, Chen Yang grinned inwardly: My dear wife, this hotel belongs to your husband—how could you possibly fail to get a room here?

Once she’d left, Chen Yang took the elevator to the top floor and strode into the office of the hotel’s general manager without even knocking.

The current manager, Gu Tong, was an industry veteran in his thirties with over a decade of experience. He wore black-rimmed glasses, had refined features, and was an old-school graduate student—a rare achievement in his generation.

Yet even someone like Gu Tong stood up respectfully upon seeing Chen Yang, smiling broadly. “Mr. Chen, what brings you here?”

“Business has been good lately, hasn’t it?” Chen Yang asked.

Gu Tong replied, “Yes, the hotel’s been doing very well. Rooms are booked solid for the next two months.”

“Just now, President Qin from Tianmu Company tried to reserve a room but couldn’t, right?” Chen Yang asked.

Gu Tong immediately understood—he’d been the one to receive President Qin earlier.

Chen Yang smiled slightly. “Give her the best—Cloud Mist Hall. I don’t care who has it booked now; make sure she gets it. And keep it quiet—don’t mention me.”

“Not mention you?” Gu Tong was a little puzzled.

“I want to stay low profile. Is that a problem?” Chen Yang said coolly.

“Of course not, absolutely not,” Gu Tong replied with a hurried smile.

“Then do as I say,” Chen Yang said.

After a brief moment of thought, Gu Tong’s face broke into a confident smile. “Understood, Mr. Chen. I know what to do.”

“Good. I’ll take a walk around the hotel. You get on with your work,” Chen Yang said.

“Of course, Mr. Chen, I know what needs to be done.”

Satisfied, Chen Yang smiled and left the office.

As soon as Chen Yang was gone, Gu Tong immediately called Qin Muxue.

Sitting in the back seat of her Volkswagen Passat, Qin Muxue took out her phone and saw that it was Gu Tong from Lijing Hotel. She quickly answered, “Hello, Director Gu, is there something wrong?”

Gu Tong smiled. “Congratulations, Miss Qin. Cloud Mist Hall is now yours.”

“Cloud Mist Hall? For me?” Qin Muxue was stunned.

Cloud Mist Hall was the most luxurious private room in Lijing Hotel, always in high demand. With her small company, she’d never dared hope for it—she’d only inquired about the cheaper rooms. The high-end suites like Cloud Mist Hall were always reserved for wealthy, powerful companies.

She couldn’t make sense of it and asked, “Director Gu, are you sure?”

“Absolutely. Our President Chen has already given the word,” Gu Tong replied.

“President Chen?” The mention of that name inexplicably brought Chen Yang’s smiling face to her mind. But she quickly brushed off the thought. There were plenty of people with the surname Chen. How could Chen Yang possibly be the owner of Lijing Hotel?

“So, it’s really settled then?” she pressed.

Gu Tong chuckled. “Of course, President Qin. Do you think I’d joke about something like this?”

“Oh, if I can get Cloud Mist Hall, that would be wonderful. I’ll head back now to sign the contract,” Qin Muxue said excitedly.

“Very well,” Gu Tong replied amiably before hanging up.

Qin Muxue returned to the hotel, just as Chen Yang finished his tour and was leaving. They ran into each other again at the entrance. Noticing how delighted she looked, Chen Yang grinned, “What’s this? You managed to book a room after all?”

“Yes, the hotel’s President Chen helped me out,” she replied.

Chen Yang laughed. “President Chen, same surname as me.”

“There are plenty of people with your surname,” she retorted.

He chuckled. “Still, you never know—maybe President Chen is me.”

Qin Muxue rolled her eyes at him and didn’t say more, heading straight into the hotel.

Chen Yang watched her with a smile, then returned to Huading.

Back at the company, he worked until after three in the afternoon, when Shen Donghua walked into his office wearing a bright smile. “Mr. Chen, President Xiao from Rose Design wants to come by for a meeting to discuss a partnership. Could you join us?”

“President Xiao? Sure, I’d like to take part in the negotiations—it’ll be good practice for my business skills,” Chen Yang replied.

Shen Donghua said, “In truth, as long as you have the money, you don’t really need those skills.”

Chen Yang waved his hand dismissively. “That’s not true. I want to make Huading Group the most powerful company in the world.”
