Qin Guofu pondered over it again and again, unable to figure out which influential figure the Qin family might have offended, leaving him feeling rather frustrated. Now that Han Changjiang had spoken so clearly, he couldn’t ask for more, so he simply said, “I understand. No matter what, thank you, Mr. Han.”

Han Changjiang replied politely, “Why say that to me, Guofu? Honestly, I feel quite bad that I couldn’t help you this time.”

Qin Guofu immediately said, “No, not at all. Next time, when we have time, I’ll treat you to a drink.”

“These are all minor things. I’ll hang up now,” Han Changjiang said.

“Alright.”

Qin Guofu nodded and hung up the phone.

After the call ended, Qin Tianrong could see from Qin Guofu’s expression that something was wrong. He frowned and asked, “What’s the matter? Still not resolved?”

Qin Guofu quickly replied, “Dad, don’t worry. I’ll find a way to fix this.”

“This Shen Donghua, what is he thinking?” Qin Tianrong was furious as well.

Of course, neither of them could have guessed that all of this was orchestrated behind the scenes by Chen Yang.

Qin Guofu’s intuition had been correct; there had always been a powerful figure influencing the situation. And they could never have imagined that this so-called big shot was none other than Chen Yang.

In the blink of an eye, the night passed.

The next morning, Chen Yang went to work at Huading Company as usual.

But just as he was working a little past ten o’clock, his phone in his pocket suddenly rang.

Chen Yang hurriedly took it out and was surprised to see that the call was from Su Xiaoling.

“This girl,” Chen Yang muttered.

He was puzzled—why would she call him now?

He answered, and heard Su Xiaoling’s irritated voice, “Chen Yang, are you still doing food deliveries?”

“Yes,” Chen Yang lied a little.

“Where are you right now? I want to see you.” There was a clear edge to Su Xiaoling’s voice.

Chen Yang could tell, and found it strange, wondering, I haven’t offended her lately, have I? Why does she sound so aggressive?

He remained calm and said, “I’m at the Guangming Gas Station. What’s up? Why are you looking for me?”

“Fine, Guangming Gas Station, right? I’m coming over. Don’t go anywhere,” Su Xiaoling said.

“Alright,” Chen Yang replied, not asking what she wanted with him, since he could tell from her tone it wasn’t anything pleasant.

He decided to go and see what was going on with this young lady.

Chen Yang strolled leisurely to the roadside in front of the Guangming Gas Station, just as he had when he met Qin Hao before. The reason he always chose this spot for meetings was because it was close to Huading Company and easy to find, so he’d gotten in the habit of suggesting this location.

Chen Yang hadn’t waited long by the roadside when a black business sedan suddenly stopped in front of him. The door swung open, and Su Xiaoling, with her hair down over her shoulders, led a young man in a brown leather jacket, chewing gum, as they both jumped out.

When Chen Yang saw Su Xiaoling, he smiled and said, “Hey, hello there. What brings you here? You didn’t come all this way just to see me, did you?”

“Enough with the nonsense. I did come all this way just to find you. Tell me, what gives you the right to disrespect my mother?” Su Xiaoling demanded.

She had a close relationship with her mother, and Chen Yang knew she was referring to the time he scolded Han Xiang and then turned off his phone, refusing to take her calls.

Chen Yang felt helpless—he hadn’t expected Su Xiaoling to come all the way to Linhai just to confront him about such a trivial matter.

Then again, Su Xiaoling was in her senior year of college, with hardly any classes, bored and restless, and like most young people, impulsive. It made sense she’d travel to Linhai to question him.

Facing her angry gaze, Chen Yang smiled helplessly. “Beautiful lady, you came all the way from Xinhai just to lecture me?”

“So what if I did? Or what if I didn’t? Anyway, what did my mom do wrong? She was thinking of Snow’s future, wanted her to have a better life. Was that wrong?” Su Xiaoling demanded.

Chen Yang grinned, “Right, right, Auntie didn’t do anything wrong. But who says your sister isn’t happy now? She’s very happy.”

“Don’t try to talk your way out of it. You’re just a delivery guy. How can you compare to the boss my mom introduced?” Su Xiaoling sneered.

At this point, the gum-chewing young man beside her laughed, “I heard from godmother you’re a delivery guy, right?”

“Yeah, I deliver food. Is that so shameful?” Chen Yang smiled faintly.

In truth, he was thinking, You two? I’m actually a super-rich man worth twenty billion. I just don’t want to show off.

The young man laughed, “You deliver food, Snow is a big boss. Let’s be blunt, you’re just living off her, aren’t you?”

“Living off her? Really?” Chen Yang spread his arms in front of him and laughed coldly.

He didn’t want to keep arguing, so he looked at Su Xiaoling and asked, “Anything else you want to say?”

“Of course there is,” Su Xiaoling frowned. “Chen Yang, I’m telling you, for Snow’s happiness, you’d better leave her. My mom and I will keep introducing excellent guys to her—if one doesn’t work, we’ll find another. There’s bound to be someone she likes.”

“You wouldn’t dare.”

Faced with Su Xiaoling’s provocation, Chen Yang didn’t want to hold back anymore.

His words, “You wouldn’t dare,” immediately drew both Su Xiaoling and the young man’s attention.

Su Xiaoling didn’t take Chen Yang’s threat seriously at all, even found it a bit funny, and sneered, “What, you think I wouldn’t dare?”

The young man also sneered, “What, you’re going to hit my Ling? If you’re so tough, try touching a single hair on her head.”

Chen Yang laughed coldly, “Why would I hit her? I never hit women. Su Xiaoling, do you really want to see what I’m capable of?”

“Oh, look at you. You’ve got skills, huh?” Su Xiaoling scoffed.

Chen Yang coldly replied, “Then could you give me ten minutes?”

Su Xiaoling said disdainfully, “You want to prove yourself? Fine, not just ten minutes, I’d give you ten hours.”

“No need for ten hours. Ten minutes is enough,” Chen Yang said coolly.

He then glanced down and sent a simple text message each to Wu Guangde and Xiong Hu, telling them to send as many people as they could to the Guangming Gas Station to make a display.

Chen Yang had people, and he had money.

Since he didn’t want to show off his wealth, he’d make a statement with his people.

In truth, Chen Yang hadn’t wanted to put Su Xiaoling down, but she insisted on making trouble for herself.

After the texts, he smiled slightly at Su Xiaoling, “Alright, just wait here, ten minutes at most.”

Su Xiaoling had no idea what Chen Yang was up to and didn’t care. She didn’t believe for a second that he had any real abilities, and continued to mock him, “Chen Yang, seriously, I’m not trying to break you and Snow up, but honestly, do you think you’re good enough for her?”

Chen Yang just laughed coldly and said nothing.

He didn’t even bother to respond to her words.

“Hmph.”

Seeing his silence, Su Xiaoling’s contempt only deepened. “Silent means you agree—you know you’re not good enough for Snow, right?”

Chen Yang kept laughing coldly, saying nothing.

The young man rubbed his hands and said, “Xiaoling, let’s wait in the car. The wind’s pretty strong out here.”

“No need,” Su Xiaoling replied coldly. “I want to see what he’s up to.”

The young man sneered, then climbed into the car himself.

The minutes ticked by. Finally, ten minutes had passed.

Su Xiaoling looked around, saw nothing out of the ordinary, and sneered, “Chen Yang, come on, stop deluding yourself, okay?”

Chen Yang finally spoke, “You’ve waited this long, what’s another minute or two?”

Just as his words fell, a convoy of ten Mercedes-Benz cars appeared on the distant street, instantly attracting the attention of many passing drivers.

Su Xiaoling and the young man naturally noticed the Mercedes convoy.

The convoy slowed and stopped by the roadside, and more than fifty young men climbed out, all led by Wu Guangde—a truly impressive display.

Wu Guangde and his group walked up to Chen Yang, and together, they all bowed, “Boss!”

More than fifty people, calling Chen Yang boss, made for a stunning spectacle.

Su Xiaoling was stunned; the young man was too. Both were left speechless.

Chen Yang looked at Su Xiaoling again, the corners of his mouth curling into a faint smile. “Is this enough? Or should I call more?”
