The fact that Chen Yang could say such things left both Han Qin and Qin Guoshan incredulous. In their minds, Chen Yang had always been a timid man, hiding behind his powerful wife, living off her. Yet now, not only had he stepped forward to protect Qin Muxue, but he had also bravely intervened to stop a fight between two strong men. That, indeed, took courage.

“This guy isn’t bad at all,” Han Qin sincerely praised, giving Chen Yang a silent thumbs-up.

Qin Muxue, however, felt a little worried. Both drunken men were taller and stronger than Chen Yang. She truly feared he might get beaten up by them again.

Now both men had turned their anger on Chen Yang. The man with the short, parted hair threatened coldly, “Let go.”

The crew-cut man sneered, “This is between me and my buddy. Who the hell are you to butt in?”

Facing their bluster, Chen Yang maintained a gentle smile. “Whatever’s going on between you two isn’t my concern. But you just almost hurt my wife, and that, I absolutely won’t allow.”

“So what if she’s your wife? I’ll hurt her if I want to. What are you gonna do about it?” The man with the parted hair scoffed, clearly drunk and reckless, caring for no one.

Chen Yang looked at him, his own expression tinged with disdain. “Go on, try laying a hand on her. I dare you.”

“I damn well will!” The man strode toward Qin Muxue, intent on harm.

Seeing this, Qin Muxue’s face changed instantly.

Meanwhile, a cold grin appeared at the corner of Chen Yang’s mouth. “Looks like you’ve had more than enough to drink today. Time to sober you up.”

Without warning, Chen Yang grabbed the man with the parted hair, using absolute strength, hooked his foot around the man’s ankle, and slammed him heavily to the ground with unstoppable force.

Then, he swung his fist at the crew-cut man’s face, so swift that the onlookers could scarcely believe it.

The crew-cut man seemed to sober up in an instant, eyes wide with terror, but he was so frightened he dared not move a muscle.

Han Qin and Qin Guoshan’s faces were filled with astonishment. The aura Chen Yang now exuded was nothing like the man they thought they knew.

Was this really Chen Yang?

Chen Yang’s fist stopped just a hair’s breadth from the crew-cut man’s nose, but the force of it alone made the man’s nose ache.

None of the bystanders were martial artists, but had there been one present, they would have recognized immediately that Chen Yang’s skill was that of a true master—a grandmaster, without question.

Startled by Chen Yang’s display, both men were instantly sobered. Chen Yang glanced at the crew-cut man’s dumbstruck expression and sneered, “Looks like you’re sober now, aren’t you?”

The crew-cut man stared blankly at Chen Yang, speechless.

“So, no more fighting?” Chen Yang asked.

The crew-cut man nodded solemnly.

Chen Yang gave a cold laugh and paid him no further heed. Today, he’d tested his own strength just a little, and it seemed he hadn’t lost his edge.

Turning to Qin Muxue, he said, “Muxue, let’s go. It’s fine now.”

Qin Muxue managed a complicated smile. The forceful presence Chen Yang had just displayed stirred a faint, unexpected admiration in her heart.

Han Qin and Qin Guoshan were equally dumbfounded.

Is this really Chen Yang? Is it?

Chen Yang led Qin Muxue, Han Qin, and Qin Guoshan out of the hotel. Once inside the car, Han Qin asked with a serious face, “Chen Yang, weren’t you scared at all just now?”

“Scared? What would I be scared of?” Chen Yang replied with a smile.

“Not bad,” Qin Guoshan said with a slight nod, clearly pleased with Chen Yang’s recent behavior.

Qin Muxue looked at Chen Yang and said, “Next time, if things can be resolved peacefully, just talk it out. No fighting.”

“All right, all right,” Chen Yang laughed heartily, though he thought to himself, Muxue, if I didn’t have the strength I do, would this have been so easily resolved? Sometimes, strength isn’t such a bad thing.

The family returned home together, cheerful and content.

As soon as they got back, Chen Yang sent a message to Shen Donghua, instructing him to make time tomorrow to go to the Mercedes dealership and buy a G-Class. He planned to give it to Qin Muxue as a gift.

After all, her cousin Qin Hao and cousin Qin Yan were already driving Mercedes worth over half a million, thanks to some shady means. Qin Muxue, who worked so hard, shouldn’t be left behind.

So, a G-Class it must be—something better than either Qin Hao or Qin Yan’s car. Their Mercedes were little more than fifty thousand, but even the base model of the G-Class cost over one hundred and thirty thousand. In Chen Yang’s mind, it was the perfect match for Qin Muxue’s temperament.

Shen Donghua, receiving Chen Yang’s order, treated it as his own affair. To him, this was nothing—just buying a car. As long as the money was there, getting a car was an easy task.

The next afternoon, Chen Yang was working in his office when he saw a staff member from the Mercedes dealership drive the car into the Huading Company courtyard.

As soon as he saw the car arrive, Chen Yang called Shen Donghua to go down with him to take a look.

When they got downstairs, the dealership employee climbed out of the car and smiled at Shen Donghua. “Mr. Shen, here’s your car, delivered as requested. Here are the keys.”

The dealership employee handed the G-Class keys to Shen Donghua, who returned a slight smile. “Thank you.”

“No thanks necessary, Mr. Shen. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way,” the man replied with a grin.

Shen Donghua nodded, and the employee left. As soon as he was gone, Shen Donghua turned and handed the keys to Chen Yang. “Mr. Chen, are you satisfied with the car?”

Chen Yang patted the hood and smiled. “Yes, it looks sturdy. I think this car suits my wife perfectly. She’s a woman with real presence.”

Shen Donghua laughed. “That’s great—a bold car for a bold woman.”

Chen Yang nodded with satisfaction. “She’ll love it, I’m sure.”

At six o’clock, when Chen Yang got off work, he drove the G-Class home, excited to surprise Qin Muxue. He was certain she’d ask where the car came from, but he already had an answer prepared.

When he pulled up to the road by the entrance to their neighborhood, he happened to see Qin Yan sitting in her Mercedes, and Qin Yan in her forty-thousand-dollar BMW 5 Series. They had boxed in Qin Muxue’s little Corolla, windows down, chatting about something.

Chen Yang hadn’t expected to run into them just after buying the G-Class, and thought to himself that their luck was about to run out.

Curious what they might be saying to Qin Muxue, Chen Yang parked the G-Class by the roadside and listened in.

He heard Qin Yan laughing, “Sister Xue, my car’s all fixed up, and I’ve added cameras. Let’s see Chen Yang try smashing it again.”

Qin Yan, sitting in her BMW, chuckled, “With that cowardly look of his, does he dare try?”

Qin Muxue’s voice was cold. “Are you done? Chen Yang won’t touch your car again.”

At that, Qin Yan glanced at Qin Yan mockingly. “Hey, Yan, that BMW must drive nicely, huh?”

“What’s so nice? It’s all about sportiness. Sister Xue probably never driven one,” Qin Yan teased.

“By the way, Yan, how’s the Mercedes feel to drive?” Qin Yan asked.

Qin Yan looked smug. “A luxury car feels completely different from a little beat-up Corolla. Different people drive different cars.”

Qin Muxue was fuming, but she had no retort. It was true—they drove luxury cars, while she only had a little run-down car. There was no comparison.

She just wanted to go home as quickly as possible.

But at that moment, Chen Yang opened the door of the G-Class, stepped out with a broad smile, and called out to Qin Yan, “Qin Yan, was it you who said different people drive different cars?”

He walked over to Qin Muxue’s car, handed her the G-Class keys, and said with a smile, “Honey, take your car.”
