Chapter Five: A Dazzling Display of Power—Smashing the Car
Huang Youlong was also gripped by fear, hastily assuring, “How could it be? Once I’m back, I’ll make sure it’s as if nothing ever happened. I’ll just work diligently at the company.”
“Remember what you’ve just said.” Chen Yang stepped up to Huang Youlong and patted his face.
Huang Youlong felt deeply aggrieved, but faced with Chen Yang’s imposing group, he dared not resist and could only ingratiate himself.
Afterward, Wu Guangde, seeing that Huang Youlong had been taught a sufficient lesson, approached Chen Yang with a smile and asked, “Brother Chen, what should we do with this guy next?”
“Send him back. Keep an eye on him for me from now on,” Chen Yang replied coolly.
Wu Guangde quickly nodded, “Understood. You can rest assured.”
“I’ll head out first. Make sure you tidy up the aftermath,” Chen Yang said to Wu Guangde.
Wu Guangde nodded confidently and smiled, “Don’t worry, I’m very experienced at handling these things.”
Chen Yang smiled slightly, said nothing more, and strode away.
When Chen Yang returned home, his mother-in-law had just finished preparing the meal, and the dishes on the table were steaming hot. Chen Yang, feeling a bit hungry, didn’t stand on ceremony. He sat down and called out to Qin Guoshan and Qin Muxue, who were watching TV on the sofa, “Dad, honey, come eat.”
Qin Guoshan and Qin Muxue came over and sat at the table.
Soon, his mother-in-law emerged from the kitchen carrying a steaming plate of fried eggplant. She immediately smiled at Chen Yang, “Chen Yang, well done! I heard you secured a ten-million sponsorship for Xiaoxue’s company today?”
“Of course, Mom. Didn’t I tell you I wouldn’t mislead you?” Chen Yang chuckled.
“I heard that the president of Huading Company, Mr. Shen, happens to be your classmate’s father?” Qin Guoshan looked at Chen Yang and asked. Naturally, he’d heard about Chen Yang bringing in a ten-million deal for Qin Muxue’s company today.
“Yes, Dad. Quite the coincidence, isn’t it?” Chen Yang grinned at Qin Guoshan.
“Mm, that was well done,” Qin Guoshan praised, albeit in a reserved manner. After all, he’d started businesses in his youth and knew just how difficult it was to find investors.
“Eat plenty today, our family’s great benefactor,” Han Qin said with a smile as she sat beside Qin Guoshan.
Chen Yang couldn’t help but grin, thinking to himself: I just brought a ten-million sponsorship for my wife, and look how warmly my father- and mother-in-law treat me. If they knew I had twenty billion, they’d probably want to fly to the moon. No, this secret absolutely can’t be revealed for now.
Chen Yang then ate his meal happily.
In five years, it was the first time he felt the food so delicious.
Han Qin and Qin Guoshan ate slowly, savoring their meal. After a while, Han Qin suddenly thought of something and turned to Qin Muxue, “Muxue, you must work hard to earn money. Today I heard from your aunt that Qin Yan and Qin Hao both bought villas, and recently each got a Mercedes worth over half a million.”
“Really? Where did they get so much money?” Qin Muxue looked at Han Qin in surprise.
Han Qin replied, “They earned it, of course. Those siblings know how to make money.”
Qin Muxue couldn’t help but feel a little bitter.
Her aunt’s two children, Qin Yan and Qin Hao, were her cousins. Back in school, Qin Muxue excelled in both academics and character, always outshining Qin Yan and Qin Hao, which made the siblings jealous.
Now, they’d grown up and entered society. There were comparisons in school, and naturally, there were comparisons now. In society, it’s not about earning ability but about who has more money.
Qin Yan and Qin Hao had always worked in the family company, and it was rumored they were doing well. Judging by their purchase of a villa and new Mercedes each, it seemed they truly were doing well.
But looking at Qin Muxue herself, her company had been losing money for a year. Although Chen Yang had brought in a ten-million investment this morning, it wasn’t her money—it belonged to the company.
Qin Muxue still bore the pressure of getting the company profitable quickly. When you compare carefully, she wasn’t nearly as comfortable as Qin Yan and Qin Hao.
Chen Yang glanced at Qin Muxue and saw she was feeling unsettled, which was understandable. After all, they were family, similar in age, and comparisons were only natural.
He comforted her, “It’s just a Mercedes worth half a million. What’s so special about it, right?”
“Exactly, Xiaoxue, it’s nothing special. They work in the company and enjoy the fruits of others’ labor. You’re an entrepreneur—ultimately, your potential is much greater,” Qin Guoshan added.
Qin Muxue smiled faintly and said nothing more. After a moment’s silence, she said, “Let’s just eat.”
After that, the family ate in silence.
In the blink of an eye, night passed.
Early the next morning, Chen Yang got up and prepared to visit Huading Company.
After all, Huading Company was his now, and his mother had urged him before her death to manage Huading Group well.
So Chen Yang wanted to see the company’s current situation.
But just as he reached the entrance of the neighborhood, he unexpectedly saw a woman in heavy makeup and a black dress, her face slightly chubby, laughing mockingly as she spoke to Qin Muxue.
Chen Yang frowned slightly.
That slightly chubby-faced woman was none other than Qin Muxue’s cousin, Qin Yan.
In fact, though Qin Muxue and Qin Yan were family, their relationship wasn’t good.
When they were children, Qin Yan and her brother Qin Hao often teamed up to bully Qin Muxue.
Chen Yang quickly walked over to Qin Muxue’s side. Qin Yan saw him and covered her mouth, laughing, “Qin Muxue, your delivery-boy husband is here too.”
Qin Muxue was visibly annoyed, “Qin Yan, you’ve made money, bought a villa, have a Mercedes—that’s fine, I congratulate you. But showing up early in the morning to flaunt it—what are you trying to say?”
“Who’s flaunting? I drove over so you could see it,” Qin Yan replied.
“Well, I’ve seen it. Can you leave now?” Qin Muxue said angrily.
Qin Yan smiled sweetly and asked, “Qin Muxue, how much do you make a month now? Look at you, still driving that shabby little car?”
“How much I make is my business, not yours,” Qin Muxue retorted.
“Oh, look at you, getting angry! How petty you are,” Qin Yan mocked.
“Are you done? I need to get to work,” Qin Muxue said coldly.
Qin Yan covered her mouth, laughing, “You used to be a top student, but now you’re not even doing as well as me. How hilarious.”
Qin Muxue was so infuriated by Qin Yan that she couldn’t utter a word.
At that moment, Chen Yang patted the hood of Qin Yan’s new Mercedes, “Nice, a new car.”
Qin Yan sneered, “Don’t touch my new car—you’ll get it dirty.”
“Yes, it’s a nice car—a really good one. What a pity,” Chen Yang shook his head.
Qin Yan didn’t know what he was thinking and mocked, “That’s right, calculate how many deliveries you’d have to make to afford this car.”
“Uh, wait a moment,” Chen Yang smiled at Qin Yan.
Both Qin Yan and Qin Muxue looked puzzled, not knowing what Chen Yang was up to.
Chen Yang turned and spotted a large stone in a flower bed. He picked it up, walked over to Qin Yan’s car, and smashed it against the car window.
Bang!
With a loud crash, the Mercedes window shattered instantly under the force of the stone.
The scene stunned both Qin Muxue and Qin Yan.
Both women stared at Chen Yang in disbelief.
Chen Yang, looking relaxed, clapped his hands and said, “Hmm, what a useless Mercedes. I found it ugly, so I smashed it. Now it’s broken, it actually looks a bit prettier, right? Honey?”
He smiled at Qin Muxue, but she was too shocked to speak.
Meanwhile, Qin Yan, as if struck by lightning, screamed at Chen Yang, “You delivery-trash, social scum, parasite—pay for my car, pay for my car right now!”
