As soon as Chen Yang heard these words, a faint chill flickered in his eyes. Yet he showed no sign of panic; suppressing the coldness within, he asked calmly, “What happened?”

“I heard that a group of workers who went there earlier were beaten up by some local thugs. They’re all pretty badly injured,” Shen Donghua replied, his tone tinged with anger.

“Oh? Looks like Liu Xianghui and the Southwest Chamber of Commerce couldn’t hold back any longer and have started making their move,” Chen Yang said icily.

Shen Donghua’s voice remained cold. “Exactly. Anyone with half a brain could guess that Liu Xianghui and the Southwest Chamber are behind this.”

Chen Yang narrowed his eyes, and a mocking smile tugged at his lips. “These people are like dogs—when they see something to eat, their eyes go red. They really aren’t leaving themselves any way out.”

“Couldn’t agree more,” Shen Donghua responded angrily. He had no desire to dwell further on these pointless complaints. He knew Chen Yang would take action—he just wasn’t sure what form it would take. With that in mind, Shen Donghua asked earnestly, “Mr. Chen, what’s your next step?”

“I’m going over to take a look,” Chen Yang said without hesitation.

After all, though it seemed the workers were the victims, it was clear the real target was him. Since he was being singled out, if he didn’t show up in person, it would only let the other side mock him. Besides, Chen Yang was quite curious to see what kind of people dared to stir up trouble at his construction site. It was rather amusing.

Shen Donghua was eager to go to the site with Chen Yang, so he immediately agreed, “Alright, I’ll come pick you up by car.”

“Good. Wait for me at the north gate of Limhai First People’s Hospital,” Chen Yang instructed.

“No problem,” Shen Donghua replied at once.

“Be quick about it,” Chen Yang said with a relaxed smile. “If we get there and those guys have already run off, it won’t be any fun.”

Shen Donghua could only manage a helpless smile at that. He thought to himself, At a time like this, Mr. Chen still has the mood to joke around. He really has absolute confidence in his own strength.

Shen Donghua didn’t dwell on it any longer. After hanging up, he hurriedly drove toward the hospital.

A little over ten minutes later, Chen Yang got into Shen Donghua’s car. As soon as he was inside, he grinned at Shen Donghua. “Those thugs are still there, aren’t they?”

“Yes. Some of the workers have surrounded them, but they’re still acting cocky—and they all seem to have some fighting skills,” Shen Donghua answered seriously.

“Oh, so they can fight? I like that,” Chen Yang replied, sounding amused.

Shen Donghua shot him a helpless look, still unsure where Chen Yang’s confidence came from.

Perhaps it was because Chen Yang had over twenty billion at his disposal—or perhaps for some other reason. But Chen Yang’s understated arrogance and calm composure made Shen Donghua feel at ease in his presence.

Ten minutes later, their car arrived at the construction site. Several injured workers lay on the ground, while five or six others had surrounded a group of thickset, burly men—clearly seasoned brawlers. Yet these thugs seemed unbothered, trading shouts with the workers as if getting caught beating people up meant nothing to them. Clearly, they were determined to keep the site in chaos.

Chen Yang and Shen Donghua got out and strode straight toward the burly men. Suddenly, someone among the workers spotted them and shouted, “Boss Shen, Boss Chen is here!”

With that cry, every eye turned toward Chen Yang and Shen Donghua. Shen Donghua’s face was grave, but Chen Yang wore a relaxed smile, every inch the picture of composure.

Chen Yang halted in front of a crew-cut brute, his lips curling slightly. “What’s the meaning of this? Why are you beating people up at my site?”

“Your site? Who says whose site this is? I’d like to see who dares work here from now on. Whoever tries, I’ll—”

Bang!

The brute hadn’t even finished his arrogant rant before Chen Yang suddenly kicked him hard in the stomach. The man doubled over, dropped to his knees, and spat blood.

Everyone nearby was stunned by the sudden violence. No one had expected Chen Yang to strike out of nowhere—his decisiveness took everyone by surprise.

Shen Donghua, too, was wide-eyed with disbelief. He’d never imagined Chen Yang would act so suddenly.

The brute’s eight companions, seeing their man go down, charged at Chen Yang in a fury. Yet facing eight men larger and stronger than himself, Chen Yang showed not a trace of fear—only calm, even a faint smile.

Whoosh!

The first of the brutes swung a fist at his face. Chen Yang raised his hand, seized the attack, twisted the man’s wrist in a single fluid motion—and broke it. The thug screamed. Without hesitation, Chen Yang kicked him in the gut, sending him flying.

Then Chen Yang plunged into the fray with the remaining brutes. They had brute strength but lacked any real skill. Chen Yang, though lean and of average height, felled one after another with precise, deadly blows. In no time, all seven lay on the ground.

Smiling faintly, Chen Yang walked up to the crew-cut brute, who was still clutching his stomach on the ground. He kicked the man in the chest and asked coldly, “With skills like yours, you still dare cause trouble on my turf? Who sent you?”

“We… we’re with President Liu… President Liu,” the man stammered.

“President Liu? Liu Xianghui? I knew it,” Chen Yang replied, eyes narrowing coldly.

He paused, thinking for a moment. A plan formed in his mind. Turning to Shen Donghua, he said, “Mr. Shen, you take care of the injured and get them to the hospital, and make sure the workers are calm. Leave the rest to me and focus on what I told you earlier.”

Shen Donghua could see that Chen Yang had a plan and replied confidently, “Alright, I’ll take care of it.”

While Shen Donghua arranged for the injured to be taken to the hospital and restored order to the site, Chen Yang pulled out his phone and called Wu Guangde. “Wu Guangde, send eight men to the New Town construction site in the northern suburbs. Some people are causing trouble here—get your men to clean things up.

“And one more thing—help me track down Liu Xianghui tonight before ten. I’ll have someone find out exactly where he is and send you the location. All you need to do is pick him up. Make sure you get him. Once you have him, take him to the wasteland outside the city and call me.”

On the other end, Wu Guangde listened carefully and couldn’t help but ask, “Boss Chen, is it serious over there?”

Chen Yang gave a cold laugh. “In Linhuai, no one who wants to cause me trouble has been born yet. Do as I say, and tonight I’ll teach that Liu fellow a lesson—a big one.”

Wu Guangde didn’t dare delay. “Understood. I’ll handle it right away.”

With Chen Yang’s orders, both Shen Donghua and Wu Guangde set about their tasks diligently.

Soon, the injured had been sent to the hospital, order was restored, and Shen Donghua was holding a meeting to reassure the workers.

As for the nine thugs Liu Xianghui had sent, Wu Guangde’s men whisked them away in two vans. Their fate? It would surely be grim.

Meanwhile, Chen Yang called Lin Qianyao, asking him to send someone to track down Liu Xianghui’s current location. Lin Qianyao enlisted a tech expert, who quickly pinpointed Liu Xianghui’s position via his phone signal.

Once Chen Yang had the location, he sent it to Wu Guangde and ordered him to go capture the man immediately.

At 9:40 that evening, Wu Guangde called to report that Liu Xianghui had been captured and was now tied up in an empty field on the eastern outskirts.

Chen Yang drove over at once. When he arrived, he saw Liu Xianghui kneeling on the ground, tightly bound.

As soon as Chen Yang got out, Liu Xianghui spotted him and shouted contemptuously, “So this is all you’ve got, Chen? Just capture me? Fine—you caught me. If you have the guts, kill me now. Go on, kill me!”

Wu Guangde, annoyed by Liu Xianghui’s attitude, kicked him and barked, “You think Brother Yang doesn’t dare?”

Liu Xianghui laughed wildly. “Cowards, all of you! Nothing but cowards!”

Chen Yang heard the taunts, but didn’t take them to heart. He walked unhurriedly to Liu Xianghui, crouched down to meet his gaze, and after a few seconds, his eyes turned ice-cold.

“Liu Xianghui, do you really want to see what I’m truly capable of?”
