“Yes, originally I designed everything quite well, intending to give Mr. Wang a surprise. Who would’ve thought it would be discovered ahead of time?” Chen Yang shook his head as he spoke.

Of course, Chen Yang knew he wasn’t lying, but Qin Hao and Qin Yan were full of sarcasm, thinking his excuse was far too flimsy.

Qin Hao, gloating, mocked Chen Yang, “Chen Yang, the way you brag, you could blow a cow right up to the heavens!”

“Hahaha…”

Qin Yan and Qin Yan laughed loudly.

“Keep your mouth shut. If you don’t speak, no one will think you’re mute,” Chen Yang said coldly.

Normally, if someone mocked him like this, he wouldn’t bother responding. But Qin Hao was particularly obnoxious, lacking any kindness, and Chen Yang wouldn’t let such a person get away with it.

Qin Hao was also annoyed and widened his eyes, saying, “Then why don’t you call Mr. Sun right now?”

“Whether I call or not is none of your business,” Chen Yang retorted.

Qin Hao sneered, “You probably can’t get through. The way you brag, it’s practically in the clouds.”

“Hahaha…”

Qin Yan and Qin Yan burst into laughter again.

Chen Yang laughed as well, his laughter leaving everyone bewildered—what was he laughing about?

He laughed as he mocked Qin Hao, “I can’t reach Mr. Sun? Hahaha.”

Wang Dezhong saw that if the banquet continued like this, it would soon be ruined, so he spoke seriously to Chen Yang, “Enough laughing. Contact Mr. Sun right now. If you reach him, I’ll believe you planned this out of goodwill. But if you can’t, don’t blame me for being harsh.”

Chen Yang pulled out his phone, dialed Sun Shengfang’s number, and put it on speaker.

Sun Shengfang answered quickly, with a cheerful tone, “Mr. Chen, it’s you!”

Chen Yang smiled, “Mr. Sun, I have a patient here with a heart condition. I may trouble you for help.”

“Oh, that’s a small matter. For heart issues, just take my personally prepared Dragon Heart Pills,” Sun Shengfang replied lightly.

“Really? That’s wonderful. Well, I have a few things to attend to right now. When I have the time, I’ll come find you,” Chen Yang said politely.

“No problem, no problem at all,” Sun Shengfang replied with a chuckle.

“Thank you, goodbye.” Chen Yang smiled and hung up.

After ending the call, he looked at Wang Dezhong. “Mr. Wang, shall we continue the banquet?”

Wang Dezhong announced loudly, “It was all a misunderstanding. Mr. Chen, apologies. Everyone, let’s continue the banquet.”

Chen Yang smiled in satisfaction, feeling quite pleased with Wang Dezhong’s decisiveness. He thought Wang Dezhong was a fine person.

The banquet resumed.

Chen Yang returned to his seat, glanced at the Qin Guofu family and their entourage, and said with a smile, “Uncle, sorry, but my bragging stays grounded—it hasn’t flown up to the sky.”

Qin Guofu’s expression was indescribably awkward.

Qin Hao, unconvinced, muttered, “Who knows if that call was real or fake?”

Chen Yang mocked him, “You should see a psychiatrist. Do you need me to video call Mr. Sun so you’ll be satisfied?”

Qin Hao flushed, “Then do it!”

“Is that really necessary, Qin Hao? Wasn’t that just Mr. Sun’s voice on the phone?” Han Qin spoke up on Chen Yang’s behalf.

Chen Yang chimed in, “Qin Hao, are you so eager to cause trouble that you want to be thrown out? Believe me, if I say a word to Mr. Wang, your whole family will be out.”

Qin Hao was disgruntled and wanted to argue more, but Qin Guofu stopped him, “Enough, Hao, stop.”

Qin Hao fell silent.

Chen Yang laughed at Qin Muxue, “That’s the wise move, knowing when to keep the peace.”

Qin Guofu’s face darkened, as did Qin Hao’s and Qin Yan’s.

Qin Muxue was kind and, seeing that Chen Yang wasn’t attacking her family further, spoke softly, “Alright, enough. Let’s just eat.”

Chen Yang smiled back at Qin Muxue, saying nothing more. Given his current standing, Qin Guofu’s family was beneath his notice. Yet they insisted on opposing him, which Chen Yang thought was sheer foolishness.

Two hours later, the banquet concluded.

Chen Yang’s original intention was to make Qin Muxue the center of attention, and he accomplished his goal. After he got through to Sun Shengfang, all the elites at the banquet became acquainted with him and Qin Muxue.

Qin Muxue enjoyed her moment in the spotlight, which was exactly what Chen Yang wanted.

After the banquet, Chen Yang personally wrote a letter requesting medicine, handing it to Wang Shengnian.

Wang Shengnian was utterly delighted, his face glowing with joy. He knew of Sun Shengfang’s reputation—his medicines were not easily obtained, and once acquired, they were priceless treasures.

Without a doubt, among all the gifts received, Wang Shengnian remembered most vividly the one Chen Yang gave.

Around three in the afternoon, Qin Muxue drove her Mercedes G-Class home. When Qin Yan and Qin Hao saw her car, their envy was palpable.

On the way home, Qin Muxue couldn’t help but smile wryly at Chen Yang. “You almost scared me to death back there.”

Chen Yang grinned, “Did you really think I’d give a blank sheet of paper? Silly. I just wanted to do something different, make the gift less ordinary and let you shine.”

“Really? Was this all part of your plan?” Qin Muxue eyed Chen Yang skeptically.

“Of course. What, you think I couldn’t even scrape together a thousand yuan, so I had to give a blank page?” Chen Yang laughed.

“Chen Yang, you really know how to play,” commented Han Qin, his mother-in-law.

“Mom, not really. I was just improvising,” Chen Yang said modestly, not wanting to chat with his mother-in-law any further.

After that, the car fell silent.

When Chen Yang and Qin Muxue returned home, they suddenly saw Su Xiaoling sitting on the sofa, clutching her stomach in obvious pain.

Qin Muxue hurried over, concern in her voice, “Xiaoling, what’s wrong?”

Su Xiaoling forced a pained smile, “It’s nothing, Muxue. Just a stomachache—if I sit for a bit, it’ll be fine.”

“Is it your old problem again?” Qin Muxue sat beside her and asked.

Su Xiaoling nodded, “Maybe. It’s alright, I just need to rest for a while.”

At this point, Han Qin and Qin Guoshan, both elders to Su Xiaoling, came over to ask after her.

Seeing Su Xiaoling so uncomfortable, their hearts ached for her.

Qin Muxue wanted to take Su Xiaoling to the hospital, but Chen Yang spoke up, “She has uterine cold syndrome. If it gets worse, the hospital will only make her feel worse. Let me treat her.”

Everyone in the room stared at Chen Yang in disbelief.

Han Qin glared at him for a moment and asked, frowning, “How will you treat her?”

“With acupuncture,” Chen Yang replied calmly.

“You know acupuncture?” Han Qin was incredulous.

Chen Yang walked over to Su Xiaoling, his eyes confident. “I can cure you with acupuncture. For your condition, only acupuncture works quickly. Western medicine isn’t as effective, and it’s slow.”

“Chen Yang, are you serious?” Su Xiaoling frowned, obviously in pain but still doubtful.

Chen Yang saw that her condition couldn’t be delayed any longer and turned to Qin Muxue, “Muxue, quickly, fetch the acupuncture needles.”

Qin Muxue nodded hurriedly, then paused and looked at him skeptically, “Are you really sure?”

“Hurry, can’t you see Su Xiaoling is getting worse?” Chen Yang pressed.

Seeing Su Xiaoling’s furrowed brows deepen, Qin Muxue didn’t think further and rushed to the storeroom for the needles. Han Qin had bought acupuncture needles before, so there were some at home.

Soon, Qin Muxue brought the needles. Chen Yang instructed, “Help Xiaoling to her bedroom and let her change into pajamas.”

“Pajamas?” Qin Muxue was momentarily confused.

Chen Yang explained, “It’s easier to do acupuncture in pajamas.”

Qin Muxue understood and quickly did as Chen Yang said.

She helped Su Xiaoling onto the bed and changed her into grey pajamas, then called Chen Yang in.

Chen Yang entered the bedroom, carrying a pouch filled with silver needles. He looked at the suffering Su Xiaoling and smiled reassuringly, “Don’t worry. You won’t be in pain much longer.”
