Lin Qianyao quickly replied, “Alright.”
Chen Yang nodded with satisfaction and ended the call with Lin Qianyao.
After finishing the conversation, Chen Yang went downstairs, behaving perfectly normal as he chatted with his father-in-law and mother-in-law, as if nothing had happened.
Of course, how could his family possibly know that Chen Yang was carrying the weight of a major matter? Naturally, he would never share this with Qin Muxue or his in-laws.
Soon, Chen Yang finished dinner and went out for a walk to aid digestion.
During this time, he was constantly waiting for Lin Qianyao’s call, his mind preoccupied with the investigation of Yang Tiecheng.
Finally, just after nine o’clock in the evening, as Chen Yang was returning home from his walk, Lin Qianyao called.
Chen Yang hurried to answer, only to hear Lin Qianyao’s bitter laugh: “Mr. Chen, Yang Tiecheng is truly hard to investigate. His background is rather mysterious.”
“Is that so?” Chen Yang smiled, “How mysterious?”
Lin Qianyao replied, “All I know is that he opened an investment company in the provincial capital, just a month ago. No one knows where he came from or what his background is. At least, in the business circles of Jiangdong Province, almost nobody knows him. But, with my years of experience dealing with people, I’m certain he has connections.”
“So, the information you found on Yang Tiecheng is only this much, right?” Chen Yang asked.
Lin Qianyao said, “Yes, I’m sorry, Mr. Chen.”
“Why apologize?” Chen Yang smiled.
He knew that when he asked Lin Qianyao to investigate Yang Tiecheng, Lin Qianyao would use every contact he had.
Yet, all he could find was this little bit of information. Chen Yang didn’t blame him; it was clear Yang Tiecheng was a cunning man.
“By the way, I do have a fairly thorough understanding of his family,” Lin Qianyao added.
“Is that so? It doesn’t matter. Let’s stop the investigation here. No need to dig deeper,” Chen Yang said softly.
On the other end, Lin Qianyao was deeply puzzled by this response.
He couldn’t guess what Chen Yang was thinking.
After a moment, Lin Qianyao laughed wryly, “Mr. Chen, what’s your plan regarding Yang Tiecheng?”
“No plan. I’ll just keep doing my own thing and see what tricks he intends to play,” Chen Yang replied with a faint smile.
Lin Qianyao continued to chuckle, “It seems you’re quite confident in dealing with him, Mr. Chen.”
Chen Yang smiled, “Just as it is. Since he’s come to Linhai obviously because of me, I’ll watch closely how he makes his move.”
“Alright then. In Jiangdong Province, no one can stir up trouble—not anyone. Mr. Chen, if anything comes up, I’ll be in touch,” Lin Qianyao said with a laugh.
Chen Yang nodded, “Alright, goodbye.”
After hanging up, Chen Yang walked home in calm silence.
This sudden appearance of Yang Tiecheng had indeed unsettled him a little, but fortunately, Chen Yang felt not the slightest fear toward him.

In the blink of an eye, a night passed.
The next day, Chen Yang arrived at the Huading Company office at half past eight as usual.
Around half past ten, his phone on the desk suddenly buzzed.
Chen Yang picked it up and saw an unfamiliar number. Without thinking much, he answered.
“Hello, you’re the person in charge of the North Suburb New City, Mr. Chen, right?” came a cold laugh from a stranger.
Chen Yang’s eyes narrowed, “Yang Tiecheng?”
On the other end, a man sat in a private room at Linhai Grand Hotel, slicked-back hair, prominent cheekbones, smiling smugly, “Mr. Chen, you’re really well-informed.”
Chen Yang squinted, “Cut the nonsense. What do you want?”
Yang Tiecheng glanced at Qin Guoshan and Han Qin, the couple sitting nervously across from him, then chuckled, “Nothing major, really. I know you’ve always respected the elders, so I invited them to the restaurant for a meal.”
Hearing this, Chen Yang shot up from his chair.
He wasn’t a fool; he immediately realized Yang Tiecheng had taken his father-in-law and mother-in-law.
A chill flooded his eyes. “Is that so? But I’m not hungry.”
Yang Tiecheng laughed, “People need food to live, Mr. Chen. You have to eat, after all.”
“How are my parents?” Chen Yang asked coldly.
Yang Tiecheng glanced at the nervous Qin Guoshan and Han Qin, smiling faintly, “They’re alright. But I imagine the two elders are probably getting a bit hungry.”
“Alright, I understand. I’ll tidy up and come to the banquet,” Chen Yang replied, his voice cold.
Yang Tiecheng nodded with sinister satisfaction, his squinted eyes full of malice, “Good, Mr. Chen. I’ll be waiting for your arrival.”
“Very well,” Chen Yang smiled.
He quickly hung up, his eyes filled with rage.
He had been waiting to see what Yang Tiecheng would do. He hadn’t expected his first move would be to detain his in-laws.
Though Chen Yang often bantered with them, since his mother’s passing, these two elders had become his closest family.
Yang Tiecheng had seized his in-laws, clearly to intimidate him—a grand act of intimidation.
After thinking, Chen Yang decisively called Shen Donghua to his office.
As soon as Shen Donghua entered, Chen Yang said, “Go to Linhai Grand Hotel immediately. Check the registration for someone named Yang Tiecheng. This bastard has taken my father-in-law and mother-in-law to threaten me into dining with him. I want to retaliate in kind. Go to the hotel, meet him, but don’t reveal my involvement, and ensure my in-laws’ safety.”
Shen Donghua’s brow furrowed, “I’ve heard a lot about Yang Tiecheng lately, and now he’s taken your…?”
“Yes,” Chen Yang replied, his expression icy.
Shen Donghua clenched his fists, gritting his teeth, “Brazen beyond belief.”
Then he solemnly said, “Alright, I’ll take care of it right away. Don’t worry about your uncle and aunt’s safety.”

“Go ahead,” Chen Yang nodded seriously.
Once Shen Donghua left, Chen Yang immediately called Lin Qianyao and Wu Guangde.
He asked them to act separately: Lin Qianyao was to send someone to capture Yang Tiecheng’s elderly parents, and Wu Guangde would escort them to Linhai.
Both moved simultaneously.
In truth, if Yang Tiecheng hadn’t tried to use his in-laws as leverage, Chen Yang would never have touched his parents.
But Yang Tiecheng insisted on such drastic measures.
An eye for an eye—Chen Yang was not one to let things go.
Soon, Lin Qianyao reported back, saying Yang Tiecheng’s parents had been “invited” and handed over to Wu Guangde for transport to Linhai.
Chen Yang immediately called Wu Guangde, instructing him to call Yang Tiecheng and let him hear his parents’ voices.
Wu Guangde agreed with a smile and then dialed Yang Tiecheng.
At that moment, Yang Tiecheng was assertively chatting with Shen Donghua when his phone rang. He pulled it out, saw an unfamiliar number, and answered without much thought, only to hear Wu Guangde’s cold laugh: “Mr. Yang, Mr. Chen asked me to pass along a message and let you hear your parents’ voices.”
“Tiecheng, what are you up to? Are you causing trouble again?” came his mother’s voice over the line.
Yang Tiecheng’s brow tightened, and he sprang angrily from his chair.
His eyes blazed, chest heaving—he was a devoted son, and now Chen Yang had involved his parents, something Yang Tiecheng could never accept.
Wu Guangde ended the call.
Shen Donghua then smiled at Yang Tiecheng, “Mr. Yang? Something happened?”
Yang Tiecheng gritted his teeth, “Shen Donghua, fine, you’re ruthless.”
Over an hour later, Wu Guangde brought Yang Tiecheng’s parents to Linhai.
Naturally, Chen Yang was there, waiting in Wu Guangde’s black business sedan, and soon saw Yang Tiecheng’s parents.
Chen Yang greeted them with a slightly apologetic smile, “Uncle, Aunt, I’m sorry. This is a matter between Mr. Yang and myself. As long as you cooperate, you’ll be fine.”
Yang Tiecheng’s mother quickly asked, “Young man, has Tiecheng caused trouble again?”
Chen Yang smiled gently, “Whether he causes trouble depends entirely on him. Please, both of you, rest well.”
Chen Yang then called Yang Tiecheng.
Soon, a convoy of five black Mercedes sedans arrived at a deserted plot in the eastern outskirts of Linhai.
Yang Tiecheng quickly emerged from the back of the first Mercedes and strode toward Chen Yang’s waiting car, his brow furrowed, “I’ve released your parents. Let mine go.”
Chen Yang opened the car door and, together with Wu Guangde, stepped out.
It was Chen Yang’s first time meeting Yang Tiecheng in person, and he couldn’t help but take a closer look.
Yang Tiecheng marched up to Chen Yang, fury in his voice, “Where are my parents?”
