Chapter Seventy-Two: That Was the One Who Crushed Him
Qin Hao gritted his teeth, for Chen Yang had actually beaten his girlfriend into such a state—an act that was the ultimate humiliation for him. His jaw clenched, his brows furrowed, and his entire body trembled with suppressed rage.
At that moment, Chen Yang rose from the sofa unhurriedly, walked over to Qin Hao, and asked, “Do you have anything else to say?”
Qin Hao snarled through clenched teeth, “What if I did want to touch your woman? What are you going to do about it?”
Without another word, Chen Yang suddenly seized Qin Hao by the collar.
Seeing this, Qin Guofu’s eyes widened as he shouted, “Chen Yang, you’re going to hit Hao again? I dare you!”
Qin Yan also cried out, “If you send my brother to the hospital again, our whole family will never let you off!”
Chen Yang let out a cold laugh. “Your whole family won’t let me off? I never intended to live in harmony with you all. Honestly, if you had just minded your own business, you could have lived well. But why did you have to provoke me?”
Qin Guofu hurried over, grabbing Chen Yang’s wrist, his expression cold. “Let go first—we’ll talk after you let go.”
Chen Yang chuckled. “Whether I let go or not depends on Qin Hao’s attitude.”
Qin Guofu frowned. “Maybe Hao had some ideas, but your wife isn’t hurt, is she? Hao, no matter what, you’re in the wrong this time. Apologize to Chen Yang.”
Qin Hao’s eyes were icy. “I won’t. Didn’t you see what he did to my people?”
Qin Guofu seemed to realize something and quickly turned to Chen Yang. “He’s right, you hit Hao’s people too.”
While Qin Guofu tried to mediate, Chen Yang paid him no heed. Qin Hao had dared to harbor such thoughts toward Mu Xue; Chen Yang had never planned to let him go today. Even if Qin Hao apologized, it wouldn’t change his decision.
With a sudden punch, Chen Yang’s fist smashed into Qin Hao’s cheekbone, shattering it.
Qin Hao let out a miserable scream. Qin Guofu’s face turned crimson with fury as he roared, “How dare you—!”
Chen Yang looked calmly at Qin Guofu. “If you want to know why I hit him, you should first wonder what kind of filthy intentions he had toward Mu Xue.”
With those words, Chen Yang turned and left.
The faces of Qin Yan and Xu Meilan were both twisted with anger, but in that moment, Chen Yang exuded such a murderous aura—like a god of slaughter—that Qin Yan, despite her rage, dared not block his way.
After Chen Yang left, Qin Guofu quickly said to Qin Yan, “Yan, call the hospital and get your brother there immediately. I’m going to see your grandfather right now.”
Xu Meilan’s eyes were red as she said, “This is outrageous. You must talk to your father about this.”
Qin Yan’s gaze was cold, and in her heart she cursed, “Chen Yang, may you never know peace. May your whole family never know peace.”
Half an hour later, Qin Guofu rushed to the home of Qin Tianrong. After his last hospitalization, Qin Tianrong had recovered well and was already discharged.
As soon as Qin Guofu entered, he fell to his knees before the elderly man, who sat in a rocking chair. “Father, you have to do something! If you don’t, Chen Yang and Qin Mu Xue will trample all over our family!”
Qin Tianrong frowned. “Get up and tell me what happened.”
Qin Guofu stood and recounted in detail how Chen Yang had just broken Qin Hao’s cheekbone.
Qin Tianrong was furious, leaping up from his chair. “This is rebellion—absolute rebellion!”
Qin Guofu’s face was grave. “This Chen Yang has become arrogant ever since Qin Mu Xue got close to Shen Donghua. Hao has suffered so much because of him.”
Qin Tianrong’s brows knit even tighter. “This is intolerable—intolerable!”
Qin Guofu pleaded, “Father, you must intervene.”
“Who does Shen Donghua think he is? Does he believe that just because he’s in Linhai, he can do as he pleases?” Qin Tianrong sneered.
Qin Guofu considered this and said, “But right now, the important thing is to get revenge for Hao. If we don’t, he might be disfigured.”
“Damn it!” Even the usually composed Qin Tianrong couldn’t suppress his anger.
After a moment’s thought, Qin Tianrong turned to Qin Guofu. “Guofu, go find Li Sanyi.”
“Li Sanyi?” Qin Guofu frowned, immediately realizing his father’s intent—he wanted him to hire Li Sanyi to ruin Chen Yang.
“Father, you mean...?” Qin Guofu hesitated.
Qin Tianrong replied, “The Qin family has done favors for Li Sanyi. He’s efficient and discreet. Go to him and arrange for Chen Yang to be eliminated.”
“Eliminated?” Qin Guofu was surprised. He had thought his father only wanted Chen Yang crippled, not killed.
“What, are you afraid?” Qin Tianrong narrowed his eyes.
Qin Guofu said, “Father, crippling the boy should be enough. Killing him could bring unnecessary trouble to the family. It’s not worth it.”
“That’s up to you,” Qin Tianrong said. “Just go to Li Sanyi and avenge Hao. I’ll call Guoshan.”
“Yes, Father.” Qin Guofu nodded, his eyes cold as he left the villa.
He was eager to see Chen Yang dead and looked forward to meeting Li Sanyi. After all, Li Sanyi had become powerful in Linhai over the years. If he could stand up to the Qin family, there was no need to fear Shen Donghua either.
Qin Guofu soon arrived at the Sanyi Corporation office and met Li Sanyi.
Li Sanyi, a heavy smoker, lit up as usual. Though Qin Guofu didn’t smoke, he took one for the sake of formality. As smoke curled in the air, Li Sanyi smiled. “President Qin, one doesn’t visit the temple for nothing. What brings you here today?”
Qin Guofu’s face was grim. “You’re right, Sanyi. I do have business today.”
“Please, I’m listening,” Li Sanyi said confidently. After all, his assets, businesses, and followers made him a major figure in Linhai.
Qin Guofu took a drag of his cigarette and said quietly, “I need someone taken care of.”
Li Sanyi’s eyes gleamed. “Who? Who in Linhai could trouble the Qin family?”
Qin Guofu drew on his cigarette again. “It’s not that he troubles the Qin family. I just value your abilities.”
Li Sanyi chuckled, “President Qin, no need for flattery. Who is it?”
“My family’s son-in-law. His surname is Chen—Chen Yang.”
Qin Guofu spoke lightly, but Li Sanyi’s eyes widened in shock. “Who did you say?”
Qin Guofu looked puzzled. “My family’s son-in-law, Chen Yang. Do you know him?”
“Chen Yang... Chen Yang...” Li Sanyi muttered, suddenly recalling the man who had crushed him in negotiations with Wu Guangde—Chen Yang.
Abruptly, Li Sanyi stubbed out his cigarette. “President Qin, I can’t do this. Please leave.”
Qin Guofu was baffled. “Sanyi, what’s wrong with you?”
Li Sanyi’s face darkened. “President Qin, I really can’t afford to offend that man. Please leave. I won’t take this job.”
Qin Guofu was stunned. What? Could it be true? Even Li Sanyi said he couldn’t afford to mess with Chen Yang? Was this some kind of mistake?
He frowned. “Sanyi, do you know Chen Yang?”
Li Sanyi waved him off. “President Qin, just go. Please.”
Qin Guofu’s face turned ugly. “Sanyi, is there some misunderstanding here?”
Li Sanyi replied seriously, “No misunderstanding. Find someone else. I won’t see you out.”
Feeling awkward, Qin Guofu stood up and left, full of questions. What did this mean? Why was Li Sanyi so afraid of Chen Yang? What had happened between them?
He decided not to waste more time with Li Sanyi. If he wouldn’t do it, someone else would. After all, his son’s suffering would not go unanswered.
Meanwhile, at Qin Muxue’s house, Qin Guoshan had just been harshly reprimanded by Qin Tianrong.
Qin Guoshan’s feelings were complicated. After all, Chen Yang had explained everything—Qin Hao had tried to do something vile to Mu Xue, and that was why Chen Yang had punished him. In his heart, Qin Guoshan believed Chen Yang was right. If not for Chen Yang’s timely intervention, Mu Xue might have been ruined for life.
Qin Hao truly deserved punishment.
As Qin Guoshan was lost in thought, Chen Yang descended the stairs and looked at him. “Dad, have you finished talking with Mu Xue’s grandfather?”
Qin Guoshan nodded.
Chen Yang smiled. “So, what did you two decide?”
Qin Guoshan looked at him, beckoning with his finger. “Come here for a moment.”
