Chapter 87: I Will Make You Regret It
Chen Yang couldn't help but burst into laughter at those words. “Su Xiaoling, that's entirely up to you. Either way, you’ll have to call me brother-in-law for a month.”
Su Xiaoling rolled her eyes. “Considering how many students you brought in for me, fine—I'm willing to call you that.”
Chen Yang gave her a thumbs-up, praising, “Sister Xiaoling, I truly admire you for that.”
Su Xiaoling rolled her eyes at him again.
Then she turned to Qin Muxue and said, “Sister Xue, now that my class is full, shouldn’t you show me some respect and join me for a meal at a restaurant?”
Qin Muxue pondered for a moment. Su Xiaoling had just recruited thirty-one students. At five thousand per person, that meant she’d earned over one hundred and fifty thousand. Such a sum would easily let Su Xiaoling live comfortably.
Since Su Xiaoling insisted on treating her and Chen Yang, she felt she should accept. Smiling, Qin Muxue nodded, “Alright, Xiaoling, to celebrate your achievement, I’ll be sure to eat plenty tonight.”
Su Xiaoling immediately raised her brows and grinned. “Sister Xue, if you don’t eat a lot, I’ll be upset.”
“Very well,” Qin Muxue replied helplessly.
After that, Chen Yang, Qin Muxue, and Su Xiaoling went out together for dinner.
Meanwhile, in the villa of Old Master Qin Tianrong, the eldest son Qin Guofu was standing respectfully before him, quietly reporting, “Dad, big news—a major development.”
Qin Tianrong glanced at him, then closed his eyes and responded coolly, “Speak.”
“It’s about Chen Yang and Qin Muxue,” Qin Guofu said in a low voice.
“Who?” Hearing that, Qin Tianrong opened his eyes again, clearly intrigued.
“To be exact, Chen Yang and Shen Donghua colluded and actually beat up Yu Fanwei, the eldest son of the Yu family, one of the three big families from the provincial capital. Yu Fanwei is in the hospital now, and the Yu family has sent people to deal with Chen Yang and Shen Donghua. I think this time, the Yu family is serious—they’re not just playing around,” Qin Guofu said with a sinister smile.
After all, he saw in this affair a chance to eliminate Chen Yang, Qin Muxue, and perhaps even Shen Donghua.
Ever since he secretly sent men to ambush Chen Yang, only to fail, and then received a scathing phone call from Shen Donghua, which even cost the Qin family company a seven-million deal, Qin Guofu had been stewing in anger. He now hated Shen Donghua with a passion.
But Shen Donghua was simply too powerful, so he had no way to challenge him directly and could only bear his grudge in silence.
Now, Chen Yang and Shen Donghua had jointly offended the Yu family. When Qin Guofu heard the news, he was overjoyed.
Chen Yang and Shen Donghua dared to provoke the Yu family’s eldest son—they were courting death.
Qin Tianrong also realized the gravity of the situation, frowning. “Was it Shen Donghua who provoked the Yu family’s young master, or Chen Yang?”
Qin Guofu replied, “I don’t know the exact details. I heard it from a small business owner who was called over by Yu Fanwei that day.”
“That man’s words are three parts truth, two parts lies, but based on what he said, it seems Shen Donghua asked Chen Yang to protect him that day. Chen Yang, who’s got some strength, ended up beating Yu Fanwei and his men.”
Qin Tianrong thought for a moment, then suddenly sneered and stood up. “That kid has been full of himself ever since Shen Donghua started backing him.”
“Exactly, Dad.”
Now at the crucial point, Qin Guofu hurried to Qin Tianrong, his expression excited. “Dad, I want to go to the hospital to meet the Yu family representatives. They’re new to Linhai and unfamiliar with the place. If I can guide them, maybe the Qin family can climb aboard the Yu family’s ship. Then, that Shen fellow will be nothing to fear.”
Qin Tianrong nodded seriously. “What you said does sound like a plan.”
“Then I’ll go now,” Qin Guofu said, barely able to contain himself.
Qin Tianrong nodded, but suddenly remembered something and cautioned, “Guofu, you may go, but be careful when dealing with the Yu family. Don’t say anything you shouldn’t. Just show your sincerity and express your desire to cooperate. The less unnecessary talk, the better.”
Understanding his father’s meaning, Qin Guofu nodded quickly. “I know, Dad. Don’t worry.”
“Good.” Qin Tianrong nodded earnestly. “Go on, then.”
“Alright.” Qin Guofu nodded and left.
……
In the blink of an eye, the night passed.
The Yu family had already sent people to avenge Yu Fanwei. The Qin family knew about it, and Shen Donghua, naturally, was also aware.
In fact, Shen Donghua had never felt at ease regarding the Yu family, so he had planted an informant near Yu Fanwei’s hospital room.
Sure enough, last night, as soon as the Yu family’s representatives from the provincial capital arrived, Shen Donghua knew immediately.
Early in the morning, Chen Yang arrived at the office as usual.
He had barely settled in when Shen Donghua suddenly pushed open the door and strode in. “President Chen, bad news.”
Seeing Shen Donghua’s flustered expression, Chen Yang couldn’t help but smile. “What’s with you? Why so frantic?”
Shen Donghua furrowed his brow. “I told you the Yu family wouldn’t let this go. Last night, my informant in the hospital reported that the Yu family sent three people this time—all likely senior members. Their sole purpose is to deal with us.”
“Is that so?”
Chen Yang grinned. “You even planted an informant in the hospital?”
This was new to Chen Yang. He hadn’t expected the refined Shen Donghua to dabble in espionage—it was quite a surprise.
Yet, seeing Chen Yang focus on the informant rather than the real issue, Shen Donghua grew more anxious, frowning. “President Chen, that’s not the main point right now.”
“Then what is?”
“The Yu family has sent people specifically to target you and me,” Shen Donghua said seriously.
Chen Yang chuckled again. “President Shen, wasn’t this already expected? If the Yu family didn’t retaliate, that would be odd.”
Shen Donghua frowned. “President Chen, you’re not worried at all?”
Chen Yang shrugged. “Of course I’ll keep it in mind, but I don’t want to panic. When I injured Yu Fanwei, I already anticipated the Yu family would seek revenge. It’s no surprise.”
“But what should we do next? The Yu family’s power is not to be underestimated,” Shen Donghua said earnestly.
Hearing this, Chen Yang laughed heartily. “If the Yu family’s power is formidable, does that mean mine can be ignored?”
Shen Donghua gazed at Chen Yang for a couple of seconds, suddenly feeling a bit embarrassed.
He realized his earlier panic was somewhat disgraceful.
Buzz, buzz!
Just then, Shen Donghua’s phone rang. He checked—it was his informant. He answered quickly.
After a brief conversation, Shen Donghua looked at Chen Yang and said, “President Chen, my informant just reported that last night, around eleven, Qin Guofu went to Yu Fanwei’s hospital room and talked with the Yu family for an hour and a half—until half past midnight.”
“Qin Guofu?” Chen Yang squinted, thinking, a cold smile rising in his eyes. “So, they’ve gotten involved too?”
Shen Donghua replied earnestly, “Absolutely.”
Chen Yang considered this, then abruptly turned to Shen Donghua. “President Shen, I need you to do something for me.”
“What is it?” Shen Donghua asked.
Chen Yang’s gaze suddenly turned icy. “I need you to go to Old Master Qin Tianrong’s residence and personally tell him to withdraw from this matter immediately—or he will regret it!”
