Chapter 121: Get Out of There—Quickly

“Lady Eluvita is truly extraordinary!” In the hall, Lin Lei poured wine for Eluvita with great enthusiasm. “If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have been able to lock that guy up!”

At this moment, Lin Lei was convinced that Eluvita was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Although his taste might be a bit lacking, considering his age and the fact that she still attracted so many dwarves and demigods, Lady Eluvita must be devastatingly gorgeous.

“Brother, you don’t know…” Bell was gulping down wine, his face flushed. “Portraits of Lady Eluvita often appear at the small bookstands in our kingdom.”

“Oh!” Lin Lei’s eyes lit up. “What kind of bookstands?”

Lady Eluvita’s cheeks flushed pink, and she seemed a bit reserved in front of Bell. “Prince, I often see you in those books too…”

Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Bell. Bell was a renowned adventurer in the Dwarf Kingdom and also a connoisseur of fine food. In recent years, he frequently appeared in some private novels. Lady Eluvita never expected this adventure would reel him in—and that he and the Demon Lord were brothers. It was truly legendary!

Lady Eluvita and Bell exchanged glances, as if sparks crackled in the air.

“Dwarves really are quite romantic,” Lin Lei thought, watching them. Suddenly, he recalled what his maid who loved writing novels had said—that dwarves were among the most open-minded of the world’s four races. Seeing this now, it was certainly true.

“Brother, I’m giving Lady Eluvita to you,” Lin Lei said.

Bell quickly waved his hand. “No… since she belongs to you, brother, I won’t compete.”

Though interested, Bell thought it best to back off since this brother was pretending to be the Demon Lord and trying to claim her.

“I have nothing to do with Lady Eluvita…” Lin Lei waved his hand, then his expression shifted slightly, sensing something unexpected.

“I need to pee,” Lin Lei said as he stood up. “You two drink first; I’ll step out for a moment.”

He turned and hurried out. Bell and Lady Eluvita stared after him in surprise, then exchanged glances.

“Lady Eluvita, would you like some meat?” Bell asked.

“But, Prince, there’s no meat here.”

The dwarves had given all their food to the werewolves; only wine remained, but they seemed not to favor it.

Bell pulled out some roasted meat from his backpack. “Don’t worry, I just happened to bring some.”

Lin Lei rushed over to the place where the demigod was confined. He kicked open the door. “Who dares steal my toy!”

Then he widened his eyes and gasped sharply.

“Damn it, there’s a tree growing in the room!”

A massive tree filled the chamber, its huge trunk blocking the cage, preventing Lin Lei from seeing what was inside.

“Brother, that’s not a tree.”

Reita and Alfred stepped out from behind the tree.

“It’s a spaceship.”

“A spaceship?” Lin Lei’s eyes widened as he scrutinized the giant tree. No matter how he looked at it, it was clearly a tree. “Don’t lie to me—how can a spaceship look like this!”

“Those are the spaceship’s tendrils,” Reita said, reaching out her hand. A glowing orb flew from the trunk and landed in her palm.

“I’ve obtained the demigod’s Seed of Life.”

Reita held the orb to her chest with a blissful expression.

Lin Lei stared intently at the orb in her hand. “What have you done?”

The orb gave him a feeling very similar to the soul stones of Gran City.

“The Seed of Life,” Reita said joyfully, twitching her ears, “if broken, the demigod will return to the wild dream.”

“That would be such a waste. I intend to transform it into fuel for the spaceship, so it can absorb the life force of the dream.”

“Oh, by the way, Brother, you didn’t know yet,” Reita looked at Lin Lei. “The spaceship’s fuel is life energy. The demigods you captured are the best fuel for the ship.”

“Princess!” Alfred looked at Reita in astonishment. How could she reveal such a secret to Lin Lei?

“It’s fine, Uncle Fu,” Reita said, her eyes shining as she looked at Lin Lei. Lin Lei was momentarily stunned. The spaceship’s fuel was life energy—why hadn’t his teacher told him?

He frowned slightly, but it wasn’t surprising. Demons liked to consume life; they were adept at harnessing life’s power. It made perfect sense that the spaceship used this energy as fuel.

“So… you’re replenishing my spaceship’s fuel?”

“No,” Reita shook her head. “It’s not your spaceship. It’s mine…”

Lin Lei’s eyes widened. “You’re going back on the agreement?”

“Our agreement was that if you protected the werewolves here, the spaceship would be yours,” Alfred stepped forward, shielding Reita. “But now… we can protect them ourselves.”

Reita cupped the orb, and suddenly a transparent ripple of energy burst forth from her, releasing a fierce gust that slammed into Lin Lei. His entire body was thrown back, crashing through the wall and flying out.

“Sorry, Brother…”

Reita’s energy pillar pierced the sky, splitting the clouds. The enormous castle shook violently.

“What’s happening? What’s happening?” Bell and Lady Eluvita stumbled and clung to each other. “Why is there suddenly an earthquake?”

Just as they tried to separate, another fierce gust swept them both outside the castle walls.

“Aiya! What’s going on?”

The two dwarves fell into the swamp, their eyes wide with disbelief as they looked ahead.

The massive castle, bathed in sunlight, was slowly lifting off the ground. This building, as large as a hill, floated upward, its bricks and rubble cracking and falling. The dust it stirred draped the sky in a hazy golden veil.

“The spaceship core has successfully activated. Thirty seconds remain until jump charge completes.”

Reita closed her eyes, sensing the ship’s status. Her ears twitched as she heard the werewolves scrambling in panic.

“I scared the tribe, Uncle Fu. Before the castle collapses, you take them into the spaceship.”

“Yes, Princess.”

Alfred turned and left.

“I don’t like anyone stealing my toys!”

A golden light pierced the wall, striking Reita, but before it could touch her, a crimson shield suddenly appeared and blocked it.

“How is this possible?” Lin Lei’s face was filled with astonishment. This little girl wasn’t supposed to be this strong!

“My shield isn’t from this planet. Your current Sky Song breakthrough can’t penetrate it,” Reita said, her gaze piercing through the broken wall. Lin Lei’s figure appeared in that direction, riding pure white wings, flying in midair.

“Brother, I’ll explain everything to you later.”

Reita gave Lin Lei an apologetic look. “You should get away quickly. That’s the spaceship engine’s exhaust port—it’s very dan—”

She stopped, because Lin Lei was already engulfed in brilliant flames.
