Author's Note on Official Publication

I Killed the Mage March the First 633 words 2026-03-30 05:30:43

It is finally time for the official launch!

Yesterday, someone asked if the author of *I Killed the Mage* is truly the same person who wrote *Great Manga*. In fact, this is not the first time; when I was writing *Great Manga*, many people also asked in disbelief if I was the same person who wrote *Blood Prince*. I can confirm to all of you with certainty: yes, it is the same person.

It is quite normal for me to change writing styles; every time I shift to a major new style, it feels like starting over from scratch. *I Killed the Mage* is not your typical "face-slapping" power fantasy—it is perhaps not as fast-paced or intense as some might expect, making it harder to keep readers hooked. Reaching this point in the story has been no easy feat. Throughout this process, I have stumbled and strayed from my path several times, struggling to balance various elements and plot points. However, I have managed to pull things back together. I am writing this with the utmost sincerity, learning this new style as I go, and gradually gaining a better grasp of its nuances.

This book holds special significance for me, and I am committed to writing it well and seeing it through to the end. I hope you will all support this work—please, at the very least, give me your first subscription!

As is customary, I would like to express my gratitude to Qidian and to all the readers who have supported me. I also want to thank my editor, Qingmang. Although our conversations have been brief, I can tell that he has high expectations for this book. I have always been cautious and pessimistic when judging my own work, but since my editor believes in it, I do not want to let him down!

Everyone, please subscribe! Please give me that first subscription!

I have no other way to thank you than to increase the frequency of my updates after the launch. I guarantee four chapters today. If the number of first subscriptions exceeds eight hundred, I will add one extra chapter for every hundred subscriptions beyond that, with no upper limit! If the subscription numbers are strong enough, writing ten thousand words a day will no longer be just a dream.

Once again, I am asking for your subscriptions!
