Chapter 136: The Strip-Tease Fiend (Part 1)
The sword beam, spanning several meters, swept past the female general without losing momentum, slicing through the ranks of the werewolf cavalry.
Countless werewolves saw their clothing and armor disintegrate into powder, which then drifted away on the wind. A peculiar scent filled the air, and the entire battlefield fell into an instant, stunned silence. The cavalrymen were shaken to their core; unable to believe the horrific catastrophe that had befallen them, even the most battle-hardened veterans turned their gaze toward their female general.
"Aaaah!"
The female general clutched her chest and vanished in an instant. The other werewolves were left with blank minds. What were they supposed to do now? No one had ever been stripped naked on a battlefield before!
"Charge!"
Lin Lei did not give them time to think. He surged forward, his golden radiance engulfing the werewolves. Brooke and the paladins of the Lady in White had already witnessed the power of this Dugu Sword Art; earlier that day, it was this very move that had shattered the werewolf master swordsman’s confidence and sent his troops fleeing in disarray. Thus, the paladins were not surprised in the least, following closely behind Lin Lei to launch their assault.
"This, this..."
However, the knights of the First Victoria Knight Order came to a halt. Constantine’s eyes widened, his mouth trembling: "Shameless! What a shameless sword technique!"
A dignified warrior would never use such petty tricks to attack! Constantine seethed with anger. How could this Supreme King be so vulgar and cunning as to use a stripping technique against his foes? He was utterly defiling the holy light he bore!
"Despicable! Vile!" Constantine cursed. How could a person like this be worthy of the title of Prophet of the Holy Light?
Yet, unlike him, the mages in the newly arrived caravan watched from the hillside in great excitement.
"The Dugu... no, the Stripping Sword Art is back!"
"That move is so dirty!"
The Royal Mages cheered, thrilled to witness the move again. It was truly a technique that defied the heavens and made spirits weep! Once unleashed, any enemy, no matter how formidable, would suffer a devastating psychological blow. The more honorable a warrior, the less they could accept such a defeat. The mages had never seen a move so effective; they were determined to learn it!
"Dugu Sword Art!"
"Dugu Sword Art!"
On the battlefield, Lin Lei rode at the forefront on his white horse, his longsword dancing. Every swing stripped a group of werewolves of their garments, leaving them stripped of all dignity before him. That golden holy light bloomed across the battlefield; never in history had anyone seen such a strange manifestation of holy light—one used solely for undressing people.
"Waaaaah!"
"It's the Stripping Maniac!"
"Run, everyone, run!"
The werewolves had never encountered such a terrifying enemy. Wherever Lin Lei pointed his sword, the werewolves scrambled away, terrified of being brushed by that holy light. The dark werewolf formation began to crack. Wherever Lin Lei and his paladins charged, the werewolves were routed, and their commanders were too paralyzed by fear to organize an effective response.
Yet, Lin Lei’s true terror lay beyond his stripping technique.
"Charge! Follow me!"
"Don't overthink it! Your only mission is to fight!"
Lin Lei rode at the very front. Not only the paladins, but even Brooke and the Lady in White found their gazes locked on his back. His slender frame radiated power, infusing everyone with the conviction of certain victory. The faith of a paladin was justice; to protect the people, they were meant to be at the forefront. And now—Lin Lei was there.
For years, the paladins had chased the minutiae of justice, forgetting that justice took many forms. That was right! The paladins felt their blood boiling and burning. As they watched Lin Lei, they saw a true paladin in his radiant figure—a great man willing to soil his own hands for the sake of victory and the protection of the world. The stripping was merely a feint; Lin Lei had sacrificed his own reputation, but he had successfully defeated the enemy! What a great and noble holy light this was!
"Charge!"
"Follow the Prophet!"
Filled with passion, the paladins followed Lin Lei. They charged forward unstoppably, and where their longswords passed, the werewolves were torn asunder. The formation acted like a sharp scythe, harvesting the werewolf army. Caught off guard, even the greatest warriors were now scrambling to get away.
"The Stripping Maniac!"
"The Stripping Maniac is here! Aaaah!"
Eve flew overhead on her griffin. Looking down at Lin Lei, she sighed inwardly. Her lord was truly peerless in every sense of the word.
"Light Rain!"
Eve chanted, and the lantern in her hand flared with brilliance, firing off countless particles of light. A rain of light fell from the sky, and the werewolves collapsed in droves. Lin Lei looked up, surprised to see Eve’s griffin flash across the sky.
"She has such a powerful technique, too!"
Lin Lei thought in astonishment, casually swatting away a naked man who charged at him.
As the battle raged on, a werewolf assassin snuck toward the hillside, silently lunging at a portly mage. His dagger stopped against a glowing barrier.
"How dare you ambush me!"
The Royal Mage reflexively swung his staff. The werewolf’s eyes flashed with disdain, but then, like a mere piece of paper, he was sent flying with a single blow. The mage blinked in confusion: "I didn't even use any strength, how did he fly away?"
A shiver went down his spine. "That line sounds so familiar! Right, the Little Highness used to say that to me!"
The fat mage suddenly remembered four years ago, when the Little Highness had pushed him aside just as easily, claiming he hadn't used any strength. The mage had always felt slighted by that, thinking the Little Highness did it on purpose, but looking at today’s events, he realized he really hadn't used any strength at all.
"Hahaha, I’m actually this strong!"
The Royal Mage roared with laughter. As a mage, he couldn't even lift his own wife; when had he ever sent someone flying? This was the first time, and it felt fantastic!
"Damn it, why are these mages so strong!"
The werewolf assassin wobbled to his feet, dazed. Just as he tried to vanish into stealth, glowing thorns erupted from the ground, binding him tight.
"Charge!"
"I want to try it too!"
"I'm higher level, let me go first!"
The werewolf stared in horror as a group of Royal Mages, eyes red with excitement, came charging at him with their staffs raised. He remembered nothing after that.
By the carriages, the lower-level mages watched their colleagues using their staffs like clubs, filled with envy! They wanted to try out their strength, but those were Level 4 mages. Level 4 was a watershed for cultivators, granting them immense physical power.
"No, we have to cultivate faster!"
The mages felt restless. They looked at the battlefield and saw Lin Lei busy stripping werewolves, seemingly having no need for their assistance, so they immediately began their cultivation.
"...One, two, three, four; two, two, three, four..."
"What are those mages doing!?"
The werewolf female general, now clad in a secure and reliable set of silver-scaled breastplate designed to resist holy light, stared at the group of mages dancing on the hillside.
"General," a werewolf beside her said, his eyes flashing, "if I’m not mistaken, they seem to be... mocking us!"
