Chapter 138: Advanced Subway
"Lady Dina, what's wrong with you!"
Seeing Dina suddenly bleed from her nose, the other demigods were shocked.
"It's nothing, just a bit of internal heat." Dina hurriedly folded the paper and tucked it into her ample bosom. "You don't need to look at this paper; there's nothing written on it."
Tyson suspiciously took the other paper cranes and lowered his head to read their contents.
"This is unbelievable." Tyson soon wore an expression of shock. "Sylvie says the Azure Dragon stripped the clothes off tens of thousands of werewolves on the battlefield."
The demigods immediately conjured an image in their minds of a male elf grinning wickedly as he stripped the werewolf warriors one by one.
"How could that be!"
They were horrified.
Dina used a spell to wipe away the nosebleed. "Did your disciple mention how he managed to deal with so many... oh, how he managed to strip so many werewolves?"
"Well, let me see... Sylvie says he created a sword technique specifically for stripping people's clothes," Tyson said. "The werewolves are calling him the 'Stripping Maniac'."
Dina nodded slightly. No wonder the naked men in the portraits in front of Lin Lei looked so panicked.
The other demigods frowned slightly. It was too despicable; that Azure Dragon was fighting in such a manner—it was practically an insult to his status.
They began to discuss.
"Let's have Sylvie continue to monitor him!"
"Agreed!"
"Her reports are very detailed."
Dina was quite satisfied with Sylvie's report. The paper even depicted the parts of the werewolves that didn't look like werewolves; one could tell at a glance that Sylvie was very diligent and responsible.
She admired Sylvie; this young druid was truly promising.
On the other side, after the werewolves on the battlefield retreated, the dwarves opened the city gates to welcome the paladins inside.
"Thank you, thank you so much!"
The city lord shook Lin Lei's hand and thanked him loudly. He had almost thought his life was over, but fortunately, these paladins had appeared suddenly.
But who exactly was this young lord? Why did he like to strip werewolves? He didn't seem to have heard of him before!
As the city lord was wondering, the sound of hooves suddenly came from outside the city, startling him again. "The werewolves are back!"
"It's not the werewolves!" Eve descended from the sky riding a griffin. "It's our people!"
Running over were the Royal Mages and a detachment of dwarf cavalry who had been guarding the rear.
"Master! Master!"
Constantine heard the familiar call. He looked back and saw Reinhardt riding at the very front, galloping over with a flushed face.
"Reinhardt..." Constantine paused, then his face filled with joy. "You've finally decided to learn the Way of the Holy Light from me!"
He had recognized Reinhardt's aptitude for being a paladin since he was young and had always urged him to give up being a warrior to study the Holy Light, but Reinhardt had always refused. Now, he had finally come to his senses.
"Haha, Reinhardt!"
Constantine joyfully reached out his arms, but the next moment, Reinhardt galloped right past him.
The young prince ran to Lin Lei, quickly jumped off his horse, and knelt before him. "Master, may I take you as my mentor?"
Constantine turned his head with stiff movements, looking at his nephew in disbelief.
He had loved him so much, yet he had taken a fancy to a guy who hadn't even grown all his hair yet!
Reinhardt looked at Lin Lei with overflowing enthusiasm. He had completely changed his opinion of Lin Lei; the way he had led the paladins to be invincible among the werewolves had deeply captivated him.
Lin Lei glanced at Reinhardt and then turned to leave. "I don't take apprentices."
His words poured cold water on Reinhardt's enthusiasm.
Bell walked over, rubbing his hands together. "Kid, you want to be an apprentice? I'm taking apprentices. Did you see my heroic performance in battle just now?"
Reinhardt glanced at him. "Were you on the battlefield just now?"
"..." Bell's face darkened. "We dwarves fought too, didn't you see?"
Reinhardt shook his head. He had only been watching the paladins on the entire battlefield; he hadn't noticed the dwarves at all.
Lin Lei and the city lord walked side by side down the street. He frowned slightly; the city was eerily quiet. There were no residents to be seen on the streets, only fully armed dwarf soldiers patrolling.
"There are very few people in this city!"
"The civilians in the city were evacuated today. We were attacked once yesterday," the city lord said with a smile. "And we were actually saved by other werewolves."
Lin Lei stopped in his tracks, and the others looked toward the city lord as well.
This city had been saved by werewolves? What was going on?
"It was a group of werewolves who arrived in a spaceship."
The city lord explained to them, then he suddenly remembered something. "By the way, you are elves, that's perfect."
The city lord reached into his pocket and took out a stone. "A werewolf asked me to give this to the Forest Elf Prince, the High King of the Night Elves... could you please pass it on for me!"
He did not know Lin Lei's true identity, but he had recognized that Lin Lei was the commander of the elves here, so he handed the stone to him.
Lin Lei took the stone, flipped it over, and found a sentence written on it.
"Master, we've gone to the Land of the Fairies."
Seeing this sentence, Lin Lei immediately confirmed that it was a message left for him by the werewolves from Wolf Castle.
Only those werewolves would call him "Master."
Lin Lei felt a surge of joy. It seemed those werewolf pups hadn't forgotten him. He hadn't expected them to leave him a message after being abducted by Leda. This was good!
Lin Lei put the stone away. The Land of the Fairies—that must be Leda's destination.
But he temporarily put this matter aside; he needed to go to the Dwarf Kingdom to get his divine artifact back first.
The werewolves outside had only retreated to a distance; they would launch another attack sooner or later.
"We can't stay here too long," Lin Lei thought for a moment and said, "City lord, I heard there is a subway here. I suggest we all leave by subway."
The city lord nodded. He had originally planned to evacuate the troops at night; he hadn't expected the werewolves to launch a sudden attack.
"I'll take you there!"
The city lord gave an order to his subordinates and led the group toward the subway entrance.
"Do those werewolves know there's a subway here?" Lin Lei asked.
"Even if they knew, it wouldn't matter!" the city lord said while leading the way. "The underground passages leading to Sloka are covered in lava. Only we can use the subway; even if the werewolves knew, they couldn't use it."
Lin Lei's eyes lit up. Did this subway have an intelligent recognition function?
Perhaps the level of advancement of this subway exceeded his expectations!
Lin Lei began to look forward to it. The group followed the city lord into the underground passage. Along the way, Eve noticed that the *Song of the Azure Sky* in Lin Lei's hand was trembling, as if it were struggling to leave his palm.
"Little Prince, what's wrong with your *Song of the Azure Sky*?"
Eve asked Lin Lei in a low voice.
"Don't mind it. I used it to hack people, and it has some objections," Lin Lei said nonchalantly. "This fellow wants to fly on its own. It's just a weapon; what is it so proud of!"
The *Song of the Azure Sky* struggled in protest. Its master had used it to hack naked men, which had already stained its soul, and now he was blaming it!
At the end of the underground passage was a huge magic elevator. Lin Lei was the first to step inside.
His eyes were shining, but he was still a bit worried about the lava. "Does the subway really pass through the lava? Won't there be any problems?"
"Of course not!" The city lord shook his head. "Our subway cars are made of the sturdiest titanium-refined iron ore produced in Sloka. It can not only withstand the erosion of lava but also insulate against its heat."
"And we dwarves have the most professional drivers!"
Bell added after the city lord.
"Is that so!" Lin Lei was finally reassured. After the elevator reached the bottom, he was the first to step out.
"That right in front of you is the subway," the dwarf city lord introduced.
Lin Lei was excited. He looked up and saw a long, giant dragon lying before his eyes. The silver-shining metal carriages were tightly connected, looking magnificent.
This subway didn't even have wheels; it was much more advanced than Lin Lei had imagined.
He had never seen such an 'advanced' subway in his entire life.
