Chapter 142: Radiant Sun and Gentle Breeze Dance
"What was that sound?"
Hearing the noise coming from Linley's room, the mages who were meditating outside turned their heads in unison.
"It sounds like it came from the Little Lord's room!"
"Go check it out quickly!"
Panicking, they rushed over. "Little Lord, are you alright?"
Peeking inside, the mages looked a bit dazed. "What happened to your head?"
"It was hit by a parabola," Linley replied, balancing a stool on his head.
"What is a parabola?"
Baffled, the mages helped Linley take the stool off and inspected him, finding nothing seemingly wrong.
Lady White had arrived even earlier than them and had already finished changing Eve's clothes.
"Little Prince, I am taking Eve to rest. From now on, you are not allowed to use the Solitary Sword Art on her!" Lady White said coldly to Linley. Linley couldn't help muttering under his breath; he hadn't done it on purpose.
The mages felt a jolt in their hearts. What was going on here?
They looked up at the hole in the roof, and then noticed Eve's lingering anger—the mages quickly guessed who or what Linley meant by the parabola.
"Little Lord, you actually used the Solitary Sword Art to strip Eve's clothes off!"
"That is going way too far!"
With heartbroken expressions, the mages accused Linley. She was still an underage girl!
Looking distressed, they escorted the two ladies away.
"Eve, don't be angry. The Little Lord certainly didn't mean it!"
"That's right, and you hit his most vulnerable head! If His Majesty finds out about this, it's a capital offense!"
Eve was slightly startled. "What's wrong with his head?"
"This..."
The mages lowered their voices. "You don't know this, Eve, but before the Little Lord was born, the Queen often ran up to the mountains to rave and disco dance just to train his tolerance!"
"His Majesty believes the Little Lord's head must have been shaken loose back then..."
"So you must never hit his head! It's a capital offense!"
Eve was dumbfounded. Was that even true? She hurriedly looked over at Lady White. "Lord Regent."
"Don't listen to their nonsense. The Little Prince's body was thoroughly examined when he was born; his head is fine."
Lady White let out a cold snort. In her eyes, Linley was inherently kind-hearted, and any bad habits were purely genetic traits inherited from Winnie, definitely not from having his head shaken loose.
"However, that disco dancing part is true."
"..."
Eve was left speechless.
After seeing the two ladies off, the mages scurried back into Linley's room.
They stared at Linley with wide eyes, and then... eagerly began pouring tea and fetching water for him.
"Little Lord, you are truly a genius!"
"So the Solitary Sword Art has this kind of application too! Why didn't I think of that?"
The mages exclaimed in exhilaration.
"A divine technique, an absolute divine technique!"
They had gained a whole new appreciation for the Solitary Sword Art, finding it far more useful than they had ever imagined.
This sword art wasn't just effective against enemies; it could even be used on people close to you—
"Little Lord, teach us quickly!"
"I can't wait to learn it!"
The mages fawned over him enthusiastically. Sipping his tea, Linley sighed. "This sword art requires at least level six to use."
"Level six!?"
The mages shuddered. Several of them were already at level five; could level six be far behind?
"I'm going to go cultivate right now!"
"I'll reach level six in just a few days!"
Desperate to leave, the mages bolted for the door, but Linley hurriedly called out to them. "Wait, a black dragon was spying on me just now. Go investigate it for me."
"A black dragon?"
The mages stopped in their tracks, only to resume running outside a second later.
"It's fine, Little Lord! A black dragon won't harm you!"
"Don't you worry!"
They scampered off into the distance. Linley touched his head, bewildered. "What do they mean by that?"
"Among all dragon clans, the black dragons and azure dragons have the closest bond."
The earring flashed. "The demigods call you the Azure Dragon, and the dragon clan must have received the news. If what you saw just now was a black dragon, it won't hurt you."
Linley frowned slightly. "But I'm not an azure dragon!"
Not only was he not an azure dragon, he was the one who had eaten the azure dragon egg—it was hard to say whether a black dragon would treat him as an enemy.
"That doesn't matter. Black dragons don't care whether you are genuine or fake," the earring continued. "Black dragons love the power of the azure dragon. As long as you possess the power of the azure dragon, they will like you."
"What does that mean?"
Linley still didn't understand, but the earring just laughed and fell silent.
Seeing how mysterious it was acting, Linley gave up probing. He decided to go to sleep and visit the countess the next day.
Linley climbed into bed and went to sleep, while the mages excitedly ran outside the royal palace to cultivate.
The royal guards wouldn't allow them to make a ruckus inside the palace grounds, so they had no choice but to go outside. There were many dwarves drinking on the street, and the mages' cultivation movements immediately caught the attention of quite a few of them.
"What are they doing?"
The dwarves found the mages' actions very peculiar.
"Could it be dancing?"
After observing for a long time, the dwarves concluded that these elves were dancing.
"I've always heard that elven art is elegant and hard to comprehend. Turns out it's true."
Knowing that elves were people of artistic taste, the dwarves were convinced upon seeing this. This passionate dance made their eyes light up.
The dwarves were a passionate race and loved this kind of lively dancing.
"Hey, elves... what is this dance called?"
A few dwarves gathered around and asked.
"The Art of Bright Skies and Clear Winds."
One look told the mages that these dwarves were country bumpkins who actually mistook their cultivation for dancing.
"The Bright Skies and Clear Winds Dance!"
The dwarves felt a thrill in their hearts. Just hearing the name conjured images of bright sunshine and crisp, clean breezes outside.
Now that the werewolves had invaded their kingdom, they might have to live underground for a long time, and this dance was just the thing to dispel their loneliness.
The dwarves tried following along and dancing.
"One, two, three, four, two, two, three, four..."
They discovered that this dance had an incredible sense of rhythm.
The next day, Linley woke up well-rested and full, and led the other elves to inquire about the countess's location.
"The tenth underground level? Have those goblins lost their minds?"
When they found the King, he was frowning darkly and talking with a few ministers, but the moment he saw them appear, he immediately stopped.
"Your Supreme Majesty, is there something you need?"
The King asked with a forced smile.
"I'd like to pay a visit to that countess you mentioned last night." Linley looked strangely at the pale-faced dwarf minister. "Did something happen?"
"Something? Ah, nothing! Of course nothing happened!"
The King let out a hearty laugh. He stood on tiptoe, reaching out to pat Linley's shoulder, only to find he wasn't tall enough, making the gesture quite comical.
"Ahem, ahem!"
Giving up, the King stroked his beard. "Countess Guinevere is on the eighth underground level. She is the supervisor there; just ask anyone and you'll find out."
"I understand."
Linley led the group away. Walking slowly, they pricked up their ears to listen to the conversation behind them.
"Your Majesty, are you not going to tell him about the tenth underground level?"
"Damn it, do you want to make a laughingstock out of me? Send men to arrest those troublemaking goblins immediately, and buy me at least seven days no matter what!"
Seven days? Hearing this with their sharp elven ears, they furrowed their brows.
"Little Prince." Lady White looked at Linley. "Could the werewolves have broken in?"
"Probably not..."
Judging from the King's words, the ones causing trouble were goblins, not werewolves—though mentioning seven days meant this matter was definitely related to the werewolves. Perhaps the goblins were trying to smuggle the werewolves in.
"Since he's hiding it, the situation probably isn't too severe yet."
Linley thought for a moment. "I need to go find the microphone... no, I need to find the communication crystal first."
"How about this? We'll pass the news to Brook and have him investigate those goblins."
"Understood."
Lady White nodded. Indeed, they should retrieve the communication crystal first; leaving other investigations to the humans was the most appropriate course of action.
"Go notify them..."
She immediately gave instructions to an elven paladin.
The elves left the royal palace, but the scene outside left them utterly dumbfounded.
"Th-This is..."
"One, two, three, four, two, two, three, four!"
Outside the royal palace, dwarves filled the streets, all of them doing broadcast calisthenics.
"This Bright Skies and Clear Winds Dance is so full of passion!"
"It's practically tailor-made for us!"
"We're dancing it even better than those elves!"
The elves stood there in a stupor. Linley turned back to look at the royal mages, who guiltily averted their gazes.
They hadn't leaked the internal energy cultivation method of the Art of Bright Skies and Clear Winds, so Linley wouldn't be angry... right?
