Chapter 158: That Sword of Yours Is Really Unique
When Linley decided to head toward the Elf Kingdom, Brooke began to worry deeply.
"Is Your Excellency the Prophet really leaving the battlefield?"
The battles of the past few days had built Brooke's trust in Linley, and upon hearing that he was leaving, the Knight Commander became full of anxiety about the war.
"I am not leaving the battlefield; I am merely heading to another one," Linley said. The Lady Black Dragon had warned him that the werewolves were also searching for the Elf Kingdom.
Linley had once considered bringing an army along, but he was not under the jurisdiction of the Alliance and enjoyed ample freedom, whereas others were not so fortunate—the White Lady could not leave casually and would stay behind with the elves.
"Rest assured, there are plenty of hands here, and His Majesty should be able to hold this place," Linley told Brooke. He was not worried about Sloca, primarily because of the Dwarf King—he was also a powerful being possessed of elemental strength.
The king's strength was no less than Philip's. Since he had now entered the fray, Sloca should be able to hold its ground.
Unable to make Linley stay, Brooke wore a slightly disappointed expression. "When will Your Excellency the Prophet leave?"
"Tomorrow." Linley grasped the Azure Sky Song. "Before I leave, I must fulfill its wish."
During the battle with Philip, if the Azure Sky Song had not revealed its true form and heavily replicated his sword Qi, it would have been difficult for Linley to cover the entire battlefield with his Myriad Swords Fall.
Having received the assistance of the Azure Sky Song, he ought to fulfill its wish as well.
*I promised you, and I will certainly make it happen,* Linley thought to himself.
To fulfill the wish of the Azure Sky Song, Linley found the director of the Dwarf Royal Palace. Not daring to show the slightest negligence, the director immediately gave orders to make preparations, though he stated it would take until the next day to complete them.
Linley returned to his room to continue sleeping, only to encounter someone along the way.
"Eve, what is that on your shoulder?" Linley asked, looking at the eagle perched on Eve's shoulder.
"My summoned creature," Eve replied.
"Oh." Linley walked over with curiosity. "Can I pet it?"
Before Eve could answer, Linley suddenly grabbed the eagle.
"Yikes..."
The eagle let out a sudden gasp of shock, then, realizing her mistake, emitted a sharp hawk screech.
"Haha, this eagle is quite lively." Linley looked at the eagle's belly. "Seems to be a female, too."
*Here you go again!* Sylvia gritted her teeth, suppressing her anger!
Linley then grabbed the eagle and shook it up and down. "Shake it before eating, the meat is bound to be tender and delicious!"
Sylvia's heart trembled. *What? Little Master is going to eat me?*
This was bad! Sylvia had been worried that Linley would up to no good, which was why she had disguised herself as Eve's summoned beast—she hurriedly cried out to Eve for help: "Eve, this is no joke! You must stop him right away!"
"Young Prince!" Eve said nervously. "This belongs to me. Can you let it go?"
"Don't worry, I won't actually eat it." Linley stopped shaking the bird and placed it back onto Eve's shoulder. "I just saw that it's entirely snow-white, and it made me miss Xiaobai a little."
Eve and Sylvia froze slightly. Could Linley be suspecting something?
"Still, Xiaobai is a leopard, so there's no way it could turn into a bird." Then, Linley sighed emotionally. The two female elves breathed a sigh of relief—good, good, he was merely feeling nostalgic.
"If it really does turn into a bird, I'll definitely make it..."
Suddenly, however, Linley let out two cold chuckles. Eve noticed the eagle on her shoulder trembling slightly.
"Make it do what?" the Astrologer asked on behalf of the eagle.
"You'll know when the time comes..."
Linley wore a meaningful look, then walked toward his room.
"Oh, right, you need to prepare as well..." He suddenly stopped in his tracks, turned his head, and said, "Tomorrow, you'll accompany me."
Linley had originally not planned to bring Eve to the Elf Kingdom, but he had now changed his mind—aside from her, he would also bring along those four pieces of fruit.
"We are going together."
That night, three more dead weights arrived at Linley's room, strongly demanding to accompany him.
Reinhardt, the prince of Ashen, along with Vivian who traveled with him, and a young human Paladin.
To be honest, Linley didn't want to bring them along—but Brooke had also interceded on their behalf.
"I hope the Prophet can send them to the base camp," Brooke had said. On his way to the Elf Kingdom, Linley would first visit the Alliance's main camp to see Lin Wen because he had heard that the latter was injured, which prompted Brooke to ask Linley to escort the prince and princess back.
Leaving Reinhardt and Vivian in Sloca would only tie everyone's hands. Brooke had made his decision only after much consideration; he trusted Linley, believing that even through the werewolves' blockade line, Linley could guarantee the safety of these two individuals.
As for the young Paladin, he was simply the prince and princess's other bodyguard.
In the end, Linley agreed. Although it was troublesome, he could use the Universe Inversion to transport them in stages.
Early the next morning, Linley dragged Eve along to fulfill the wish of the Azure Sky Song.
"Your Majesty, I guarantee you will be satisfied."
The director led the two of them into a banquet hall. "This is the finest hall in all of Sloca!"
Upon entering, Eve saw that the environment of the hall was exquisite, and a group of dwarves were already waiting on the stage, but the things they were holding in their hands...
"Come out!"
With a wave of his hand, Linley summoned the Azure Sky Song and placed it upon the audience seating.
"Let's head out!" he said to the director.
The director was stunned. "Is Your Majesty not here to listen to a concert?"
"I am not the one listening." Linley pointed at the Azure Sky Song. "It is the one who wants to listen."
Eve slapped her forehead. *Just as I expected*—those dwarves were all holding musical instruments.
The Azure Sky Song became excited; it was about to enjoy orchestral services.
*Everyone else get out!*
The Azure Sky Song spun around the group, frightening the director so much that he quickly ushered Linley and the others outside.
They closed the door, and soon the sound of music drifted from within.
"Not bad..."
Linley nodded. Although it wasn't extraordinarily exceptional, it could still be considered good.
The musicians playing in the hall were from the Dwarf Royal Palace Orchestra. To meet diplomatic needs, they had also mastered some musical pieces from other races. Linley had specifically instructed them not to sing using dwarf vocal cords, and the pieces played had been carefully selected, so they shouldn't disappoint the Azure Sky Song.
"Your Majesty, this sword of yours... is truly unique..." The dwarf director wiped his sweat. "This is my first time seeing a sword that wants to attend a concert."
"I also have a leopard pet," Linley said nonchalantly. "Not only can it speak, but it even wipes its own ass when it goes to the bathroom."
The director looked at Linley with a face full of disbelief. "Really? Does it use its front paws or its back paws to hold the paper?"
"Its back paws," Linley replied.
The leopard on Eve's shoulder stirred with agitation. *What nonsense are you spouting? How could back paws possibly wipe anything!*
"You don't need to call me Your Majesty, either," Linley told the director. "I'm not your king yet!"
"Isn't that just a matter of time?" the director fawned. He had thought to himself earlier that since this Supreme King's legend had spread throughout the world and he could even defeat a king, he certainly wasn't an ordinary character; most likely, he would be the next Dwarf King.
Now, he was even more certain. A pet that could wipe its own ass, and a weapon that wanted to listen to concerts—who could possibly defeat such a monster?
