Linley’s negotiations with Twin Moon City lasted the whole night, and Angie was dragged in as well.

By the following dawn, the talks were finally over, and both of them were exhausted beyond belief.

Linley returned to his room, where Eve brought him breakfast and, by the way, told him that the leopard had left.

“Little White is gone...” Linley paused with his food halfway to his mouth. The mask hid his expression, but Eve could tell he was unhappy.

“Little Prince, I’ll take care of you in its place!” she said comfortingly. Linley looked up at her. “Can you let me ride you too?”

Cold sweat broke out on Eve’s forehead. How did he intend to ride her? “If you only use my back...”

“Then what else is there besides the back?” Linley shot her a look, then lowered his head and went on eating breakfast. “Forget it. That heartless thing—next time it comes back, I’m definitely going to teach it a lesson.”

He was not especially sorrowful, but before long Angie came in wearing a frost-covered expression.

“Go out and take a look. Drive away that bunch of dark elves outside,” she said. “They’ve been shouting slogans the whole time. I can’t sleep.”

Linley retorted, “You should deal with the palace first. Take a look outside.”

He pointed out the window. Several nobles were glaring fiercely in this direction, and with things looking like this, they might storm in and start hacking people down at any moment. Linley was too nervous to even sleep.

Angie turned around. “I’ll go teach them a lesson. You hurry up too.”

“Wait.” Linley called her back, wiped his mouth, and stood up. “Let’s go out together and make everything clear!”

Angie nodded. “Fine.”

The two of them went out together and announced their decision to their confidants: the Dark Elf Kingdom would adopt a dual-monarch system.

In the summer, a breeze suddenly rose through the quiet Dark Forest, setting the green leaves dancing.

The Forest Elf army advanced toward Grand City with great momentum, and for the first time the dark elves opened their arms and reached out to the outside world.

Ripples spread across the world with the wind, and messenger birds rode the breeze to quickly carry several pieces of news to the various nations.

“The war in the Dark Forest has ended!”

“The Forest Elves and the Dark Elves have declared war on the monsters!”

“The Dark Elf Kingdom’s new king will be inaugurated in two days!”

Victoria, the most powerful kingdom of the Human Alliance.

“What are you all doing?” roared King Caesar as he sprang to his feet and hurled the intelligence report in his hand at the envoy. “Didn’t you tell me years ago that the Forest Elf prince was a new species?”

The envoys stiffened. “Your Majesty, it is absolutely true. We saw it with our own eyes!”

Sweat streamed down their faces, yet not one of them dared wipe it away.

“A cyan-colored monster can make the dark elves willingly bow to him and crown him king?” Caesar slammed his hand on the table with such force that the entire thing shattered. “Do you take me for a fool?”

The envoys panicked and dropped to their knees, repeatedly bowing their heads.

“Your Majesty, we absolutely did not deceive you!”

“This... it must be, yes, the dark elves have terrible taste!”

The envoys found an excuse. They still remembered the first time they saw that little fellow; he had been so distinctive that they could never have mistaken him. It had to be the dark elves’ taste that was the problem.

Back then they had even wondered how the Dark Elf Queen could possibly like such a monster; now, looking at it... it turned out that all dark elves had such peculiar tastes.

“Your Majesty, please see clearly! The dark elves’ taste is far too bizarre. We simply cannot understand it!”

“That’s right, Your Majesty. Those fellows might just like new species!”

The envoys spoke loudly, and the corner of Caesar’s mouth twitched as he suppressed the urge to kill.

“Enough. You idiots, get out of here for now!”

With a wave of his hand, the envoys immediately fled in a sorry state.

After they left, an elderly white-haired man with a dignified appearance stepped out from behind Caesar. “Your Majesty, why bother joking with them?”

“They’re so stupid I’m not even allowed to lose my temper?” Caesar turned around, most of the anger on his face gone. “Prime Minister, is the news about the Azure Dragon true? If that boy really possesses the Azure Dragon’s power, then the appearance those fools saw might have something to do with the Azure Dragon.”

The prime minister nodded. “It is almost certainly true. The demigods even want us to help eliminate him.”

Caesar’s brows drew together at once. The prime minister read his thoughts and said, “Your Majesty, we should not get involved in the Azure Dragon matter. He is now both the Forest Elf prince and the Dark Elf king; his identity is highly sensitive. We have no reason to help those demigods.”

“I know that.” Caesar nodded. The Victoria royal court had a very good relationship with the Forest Elves, and of course he would not offend them lightly.

“Those demigods say he endangers the world, but I do not believe that simply possessing the Azure Dragon’s power means one must harm the world. I’ve read reports from every side, and all the intelligence indicates that the Forest Elf’s character is sound.”

“Your Majesty is wise!”

The prime minister breathed a sigh of relief. Not merely sound— that little prince was practically a model for all royalty in the world.

Whether it was the Snow City incident three years ago or the current Dark Elf affair, that little prince’s character had been beyond reproach. It was precisely because of the nobility and justice he displayed that those dark elves could cross racial boundaries and, without hesitation, place him on the throne.

“Still, if his deeds continue spreading, the girls of our kingdom will lose sleep again—”

The prime minister sighed. Caesar stroked his long beard. “That’s nothing. When I was young, I kept the kingdom’s girls from sleeping too. Ah, when I think back on it, I was truly deeply sinful!”

But you were nowhere near as sinful as he is, the prime minister thought. That little prince’s depravity reaches far beyond Victoria—he’s practically taking the whole world by storm.

Still, he did not dare crush the king’s spirits with the truth.

“Then, Your Majesty, the Dark Elf Kingdom’s inauguration ceremony in a few days...”

“I know. I’ll send someone.” The king nodded. The Dark Elf Kingdom had sent invitations to the various nations, asking them to attend the new king’s inauguration.

However, dark elves were not very popular in the world, and they had never before had the custom of inviting outsiders to their ceremonies. This time, there might not be many who went.

“How about this: Prime Minister, you go personally and take a look at that little prince for me. See what exactly is so special about him.”

The prime minister agreed at once.

The king patted his forehead. “A Forest Elf actually becoming a Dark Elf king—what the hell. If I hadn’t confirmed it over and over again, I’d think I was dreaming.”

The prime minister deeply agreed. “This old minister read it several times before realizing my old eyes had not turned into cataracts.”

“What are cataracts?”

“A term I learned from a cultivation novel.”

The prime minister still had red-veined eyes from staying up all night. After receiving the news, he hurried to find a cultivation novel to read, and in the end he stayed awake the entire night. Damn it, it was just too thrilling.

“I should read those novels too...”

Caesar stroked his beard. Cultivation novels were very popular in the Elven Kingdom, though their distribution was restricted abroad, and the human nations did not pay them much attention.

He had once thought they were merely children’s amusements, but now it seemed that child was peerless in the world. It would be a pity not to read the novels he wrote.

“The war is about to begin... try inviting him over as well and let him join the fun...”

“Your Majesty, absolutely not!”

“What is it?”

“He is dangerous to the kingdom!”

“Hahaha, how could that be? He’s still just a child!”

The king laughed, while the prime minister felt deeply uneasy. Could a child overturn a regime?
