Chapter 126: Joining Forces
"No! It's coming again!"
Before the White Emperor and the other Obsessed Ones could finalize a battle strategy, the thunder—as sudden as a gale and as roaring as a storm—descended from the nine heavens, manifesting once more upon the Divine Mirror.
[Indra]
The moment this title appeared, it signified strength! Unreasonable, overwhelming, and incomparably oppressive strength!
Two deep blue ionization channels descended from the outer space orbit twenty thousand kilometers above, piercing straight through the entire atmosphere like a blade held by a god, striking toward the earth. The moment these channels connected with the ground, they immediately began to accumulate immense electric potential.
In the Artificial Divine Realm’s Red Alert system, there exists a superweapon known as the Electromagnetic Satellite. This weapon is capable of pulling T3 tech tanks—armored land monsters weighing over twenty tons—directly into outer space. The wireless power transmission technology developed by the Star Han Empire of the Artificial Divine Realm in 1909 was the precursor tech tree for this very weapon.
The Prime World had obtained this technology, and naturally, Lan Yi had obtained it as well.
However, unlike a superweapon, Lan Yi preferred to think of it as a "junkyard electromagnet." It was technology from the interstellar era, originally designed for the efficient transport of mineral resources into outer space rather than for combat.
As the ionization channels formed, leveraging the planet's massive electrical potential difference, Lan Yi effortlessly lifted the metallic debris from the millions of square kilometers of land beneath his feet. The reinforced concrete and other materials dragged into the air turned the ruins of the Demon Capital into a dreamlike scene of zero-gravity.
What was Lan Yi’s purpose? The Obsessed Ones did not know. But if a Spirit Cultivator well-versed in Daoist arts were present, they would have joyfully explained that the being above them was a master of electromagnetism, currently constructing a channel suitable for "Rainbow-Form" travel.
In simple terms: twenty thousand kilometers, with a strong electromagnetic node every kilometer. It allows for blinding speed!
The Divine Mirror, infused with the energy of the Obsessed Ones, shook violently. Within the image reflected on the mirror, they saw [Indra] again! His entire body had transformed into a rainbow, descending from the nine heavens at a staggering speed of Mach 11!
His speed, his momentum, and the sky filled with lightning and thunder seemed as though they would split the very atmosphere asunder!
Logically, Lan Yi should not be able to reach such terrifying speeds. Even if he could barely manage it, his body would suffer from overload and damage, let alone the ability to maintain control. Yet, Lan Yi was pushing through with sheer force—a speed so immense it pulverized everything in its path. Surrounded by lightning, he perfectly embodied the ancient text: "Those who excel in offense move from above the nine heavens!"
"It’s no use! We can't lock onto him! He’s too fast; by the time we confirm his position to strike, he’s already gone!" shouted the Obsessed One tasked with controlling the Divine Mirror.
Even for a True Demon-level Obsessed One, once their obsession was unleashed and their energy burned, their reaction time was barely at the speed of sound. Facing eleven times the speed of sound, by the time the mirror locked onto [Indra], he had already descended and vanished before they could react.
"Teleport the five of us to an altitude of one thousand meters! [Indra]'s speed is terrifying because he is within this channel. We will destroy the channel first," the White Emperor commanded calmly.
The Divine Mirror could teleport the Obsessed Ones at will. In theory, this made them invincible, though it was extremely energy-intensive and risked killing the user. But they no longer had the luxury of caution. Ghosts, being entities of obsession, were notoriously vengeful; a single attack could lead to a pursuit across half the globe. Unless [Indra] was destroyed, every Obsessed One would be haunted by lethal lightning day and night.
The Divine Mirror shimmered. The next moment, the White Emperor and his companions appeared high above the ground, right inside the ionization channel. Looking up, they watched with trembling hearts as the lightning suspended in the nine heavens expanded at a terrifying rate. In less than a few dozen seconds, the plasma brought down by [Indra] would burn this land in a fury!
Without waiting for the White Emperor’s order, the other four took action.
True Name Liberation!
They shouted, unleashing their respective artifacts of obsession. Instantly, four high-powered weapons converged on the nodes of Lan Yi’s ionization channel, each displaying its own supernatural power to tear it apart.
One artifact manifested as a mountain-sized Bull Demon King, spewing endless flames from its mouth, incinerating the ionization channel with molten, gold-flecked fire. Another transformed into a beam of light, violently severing multiple nodes and vaporizing them into nothingness.
A third became a suit of ominous, red-furred armor, granting the user the strength to move mountains and fill seas for a short duration. A fourth acted like a scroll, temporarily sealing off targets that offered no resistance, turning them into harmless, cartoonish figures.
The ionization channel, which had connected heaven and earth and shrouded the entire ruins of the Demon Capital, was destroyed. The terrifying electrical potential, losing its control, dissipated into the atmosphere. But the Obsessed Ones felt no joy; the lightning above them had not retreated—it had grown even more intense!
It was like the midday sun... No!
It was several times more blinding than the midday sun, a flash of lightning capable of searing the eyes! Its pressure was enough to shatter the aura fields of True Demon-level Obsessed Ones and crush their very obsessions!
"Let’s do it. No more holding back," the White Emperor sighed softly, ready to meet his end this day.
It was only a pity... that he had failed to purge the world of all ghosts.
True Name Liberation: White Emperor Aurora Sword!
The world froze.
When speed reaches a divine level, a wielder of the White Emperor Sword, drawing on the natural advantages of their spirit form, can step into a unique realm. In this world of crisscrossing white light, where light moved slowly and lightning stood still, the White Emperor surged upward against the flow, charging toward that brilliant, lethal radiance.
Ascending with him were the four colors of Cyan, Crimson, Flame, and Yellow.
This was one of the abilities of the White Emperor Aurora Sword after True Name Liberation: the Aurora Sword Prison. In the parlance of a Spirit Cultivator, the White Emperor could bring chosen companions into a quantum-fluctuation gap of slow-motion space-time, granting them divine speed for a short period—a divine speed that came with its own bio-field, preventing the kind of surface-level destruction caused by the "Old Demon Lan."
In a mere instant, led by the White Emperor, they closed in on the lightning.
The humanoid figure deep within the light became vaguely visible.
"Halt!"
The first to strike was the Cyan Emperor. His strongest weapon was the Peach Blossom Sword, which could mark ghosts with a "Peach Blossom Seal." The more seals a ghost bore, the more severe the damage they suffered. In the most extreme case, given enough time, even the damage from a mere gust of wind could slay a Demon King-level ghost!
