Chapter 100: Slaying the Six Generals
“Boom!”
Wu Tian held both arms out in front as he struck the ground like a cannonball. The stone tiles beneath him shattered, and he sank deep into the mud.
“Excellent! Fine work! The Six Generals deserve their name. That brat is finished at last, isn’t he? Damn, after all his arrogance, he finally knows who I am!” Wei Aoxiong applauded with glee when he saw Wu Tian go down, seeming to crash badly.
But before the words left his mouth, Wu Tian slowly rose to his feet.
“Hmm. The force of that shot was good, but it still didn’t break through my defense,” Wu Tian said, shaking off the dust as if nothing were unusual.
The smile on Wei Aoxiong’s face froze at once. “Damn it! How can he stand up again? He was hit dead center! He must be faking it. Third to Sixth Generals, keep attacking! He’s pretending to be fine!”
“A dumb fool,” Wu Tian said with a curl of his lip.
The six generals, seeing Wu Tian unharmed, began to grow uneasy.
“Third, did you not give it everything a moment ago?” the leader asked.
“I did. After the lesson from Sixth, I nearly used every ounce I had this time, but…” Third General frowned, unable to finish.
“I still can’t read this fellow’s level,” the leader said grimly. “He may be beyond our estimate.”
“Whether or not he is,” Third General said, clutching his fist, “there’s no way our six brothers together would lose to a twenty-year-old disciple of the Qitian Sect.”
“If we fail to hold this rebel today, it’ll be a farce spread across the realm. In the Kuangwu Empire we’ll have no face anymore. So today we keep this boy alive. If necessary…” A glint of ice flashed through his eyes. “Kill. No. Mercy.”
The others understood immediately, sharing the same thought.
With one mind, the six formed a fan and enclosed Wu Tian. The air itself seemed to tighten.
“Oh, so now we get serious,” Wu Tian said. He felt the change in atmosphere and hardened his thoughts.
Then, all six moved at once. Wu Tian’s body vanished from where it had been.
Cling, clink, clink...
Boom...
For an instant they exchanged dozens of exchanges; violent qi flared at the center, and all seven figures nearly vanished from sight.
WHAM. Wu Tian slammed down hard again and again, but every time he rose and returned to the fight. In only a few blinks, he had been thrown down four or five times. It looked as if the seven of them had fully pressed him.
“Such speed!” one of the City Guard breathed. “Can’t even see their movements clearly. That rebel isn’t bad himself—he can hold against all six Generals!”
“Still, these are the Six Generals. He’s already suppressed now. He won’t last long.”
“We were scared for a while, but I’m relieved he isn’t one of the Six Generals himself,” another guard patted his chest in relief. “Otherwise he’d be outrageous beyond belief.”
A thunderous crash: Wu Tian was hit in unison by six and smashed into a thatch hut, flipping the entire structure over.
“Ha! Ha! Beautiful!” Wu Tian rose instantly and shouted with laughter, as if the fight had left him untouched.
“Just look at him—how can he endure that? We landed dozens of hits, and yet he shows no sign of damage!” General Six panted. The fight had drained much of his qi, and now fatigue laced his voice.
“He must be wearing high-tier defensive gear,” the leader said, breath still uneven. “No one can resist like that otherwise.”
While the six generals made panicked guesses, a strange smile curved at Wu Tian’s lips.
“You bunch of idiots. You really think I’d play fair and duel you one by one? I’ve got more premium Healing-Blood Pills and Qi-Fusing Pills than I can count. As long as you don’t kill me in one move, my health and qi are endless. If it weren’t for buying time for Xiao Hui to gain more breathing room, I’d have killed you already.”
“Big brother, what do we do now?”
“We can’t keep trading blows forever. Kill him.”
The words were still in the air when the six surged forward again. Wu Tian clearly felt a vast torrent of qi erupt from each of them; all were unleashing ultimate techniques.
“Damn it. You think I don’t have a big move? Let the storm rise—come at me!” Wu Tian jumped upward, infused his qi into the Black Dragon Blade, and swung it toward the six.
At the same moment, each of the six launched their own techniques, and a feral torrent of qi rushed at Wu Tian. The cyclone of qi he formed surged outward in return.
Boom...
The two forces collided. Sand and stones flew up. Houses around them trembled and began to collapse.
“Damn! Six people combined—that’s no idle boast,” Wu Tian said, his expression changing as the crushing force struck him.
Thud, thud, thud. He was thrown by the impact, crashing through more than a dozen earthen walls before coming to rest, buried in the ruins of a house.
“Huff... We can drop this one now!” General Six said, breathing hard as he looked at the rubble.
The leader squinted at the wreckage. “Gathering all six of our strongest attacks, this boy could not possibly withstand it even if he were at the tenth tier of the Martial Spirit realm.”
“Is that so?”
Pfft!
At that instant, as Wu Tian spoke, the Black Dragon Blade drove straight through General Six’s chest. The other five stared in disbelief.
Clink.
“Congratulations, Player Wu Tian, for defeating one of the Six Generals of the Fifth-Level Martial Spirit realm. Experience gained: 20,000.”
“Sixth!”
“You killed him, Wu Tian. From now on, we are enemies with no peace between us. Today I swear I will not live unless I take your life. Come for it!”
The leader roared, eyes bloodshot, and raised his sword to charge. All his cultivation erupted in that moment.
“You allow yourselves to kill, but say I’m not allowed to?” Wu Tian shrugged. “How principled.”
The Six General leader ignored him. His furious onslaught came rushing like a storm, packed with the full might of his lifelong cultivation and wrath. The threat was monstrous.
“Defensive Shield Armor, activate!”
A pale blue barrier rose before Wu Tian.
“Ride the Wind and Soar!”
Wu Tian vanished from the spot. There was a crack as a massive impact struck the blue barrier, and even the air shivered.
“Instant kill!”
The barrier absorbed part of the strike, and Wu Tian took the rest on himself. Using triple speed, he closed to the leader’s side in one motion and triggered his ultimate ability: Instant Kill.
A violet flash swept through the crowd. Every onlooker widened their eyes.
