Chapter 75: The Second Seal of the Black Dragon Blade is Broken
The scene before them was something Steward Sun and Master Sun had never witnessed. The token suspended in midair suddenly erupted with intense golden light, and after radiating this brilliance, a surge of energy burst forth from the token, enveloping Wu Tian completely, as if forming a golden barrier around him.
"Master! Something is wrong, we must halt the process immediately, or Wu Tian could be in real danger!" Sun Siqing, witnessing this, was suddenly flustered.
Master Sun nodded quickly and tried to use true energy to stop the process, but as he channeled his energy, the golden barrier blocked him.
"This is bad! I’ve lost control of the token. A vast energy is isolating Wu Tian from the outside world—it's too immense, I can't break through!" Master Sun’s expression changed dramatically, beads of sweat appearing on his forehead. "This is unprecedented. If I’m not mistaken, Wu Tian has already fallen into an illusion array. From here on, he’s on his own."
"To trigger such a powerful energy barrier, perhaps Wu Tian really might create a miracle," Sun Siqing mused.
"Now it’s all up to him. All we can do is guard him, making sure no one disturbs him," Master Sun replied with a slight nod.
...
At this moment, Wu Tian was locked in a life-or-death struggle within the illusion against the Fire Qilin, a sixth-tier beast of formidable strength and fire attributes. Wu Tian was finding it extremely difficult to cope; he had consumed dozens of pills just to wear down half of the creature’s health.
"Roar!" The Fire Qilin, thoroughly enraged by Wu Tian, let out a furious howl, causing the entire cavern to tremble.
Meanwhile, a massive fireball appeared above the creature’s head, rapidly condensing. As it contracted, its color deepened, transforming from fiery red to purple.
"Damn, it’s about to unleash its ultimate attack. That energy feels overwhelming!" Wu Tian sensed the immense power of the purple fireball, his expression shifting drastically.
Boom!
The purple fireball was hurled by the Fire Qilin, streaking through the air.
Rumble...
A violent explosion enveloped Wu Tian, shaking the cavern so intensely that chunks of rock began to fall from above. The purple fireball blasted a deep pit into the ground where it landed.
"Son of a bitch! Die!" Suddenly, Wu Tian, scorched and battered, appeared on the Qilin’s back, driving the Black Dragon Blade straight into its flesh.
Splurt! Half of the blade sank into the Fire Qilin, instantly draining half its remaining health.
"Roar!" The beast howled in agony, leaping up and hurling Wu Tian against the wall.
Boom! The wall cracked, but Wu Tian refused to let go, forcing the Black Dragon Blade further into the creature. Being so close to the Fire Qilin, his body was burned black, and his health was dropping rapidly.
"I refuse to believe I can’t kill you!" Wu Tian gritted his teeth against the pain, pressing down on the blade and swallowing more pills, though his health continued to decline.
Of course, health wasn’t just dropping for Wu Tian—the Qilin’s was plummeting as well.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The Fire Qilin, with Wu Tian clinging to it, repeatedly smashed into the walls, shaking the cavern harder and harder. The falling rocks grew larger.
Ding!
"Congratulations, player Wu Tian. The Black Dragon Blade has absorbed the blood of a divine beast. Second seal unlocked: attack power increased by sixty percent, critical hit rate increased by twenty percent, and triple damage dealt to beasts and divine creatures."
"Congratulations, player, for mastering the second level of the Black Dragon Blade technique: Bloodthirsty Frenzy."
"Bloodthirsty Frenzy: Slash three times in succession, each blow increasing damage by fifty percent. After three slashes, deal five times the total damage!"
"Haha! I never thought the Qilin’s blood would unlock the second seal on my blade, and I’ve mastered the second level of the technique. Let’s see what kind of power it holds!"
Wu Tian laughed wildly, yanked the Black Dragon Blade free, and leapt into the air, gripping the weapon with both hands. A dangerous black aura emanated from the blade.
"Black Dragon Blade technique, second level: Bloodthirsty Frenzy! Explode!"
With all his strength, Wu Tian unleashed the first slash—a domineering blade aura poured forth, quickly followed by a second and third slash. The three waves of blade energy converged into a raging blade edge, surging towards the Fire Qilin.
Sensing the danger, the beast opened its maw and condensed a massive fireball, which it then blasted at Wu Tian.
Boom!
Blade energy and fireball collided in midair, creating a violent explosion. The fireball swiftly shattered, while the huge blade edge Wu Tian summoned continued toward the Fire Qilin.
The beast took the full force of Bloodthirsty Frenzy; with a thunderous blast, the wild energy exploded across its body, flames scattering everywhere. Above its head appeared a glaring red critical hit number: -20000. Its life was utterly extinguished.
Ding!
"Congratulations, player Wu Tian. You have slain the sealed divine beast 'Fire Qilin' and gained 30,000 experience. Additionally, you have acquired the fire attribute talent."
"Fire attribute talent: enhances your fire-based attacks, increases defense against fire attacks, and improves your comprehension of fire-related techniques."
The system notification stunned Wu Tian. Damn! He never expected that killing monsters in the illusion would grant experience—this was incredible. The rewards were bountiful: the Black Dragon Blade’s second seal unlocked, mastery of the blade technique’s second level, and the acquisition of a fire attribute talent. This journey through the illusion had certainly not been wasted.
Rumble!
Just then, the cavern Wu Tian was in began to shake even more violently. Huge rocks tumbled from above, and cracks spread across the ground.
"The battle must be causing the collapse of this cavern. If it collapses, who knows if I’ll die with it. I need to find the inheritance of the Pill God quickly—but what exactly is the inheritance?" Wu Tian was anxious. Though this was an illusion, the fight felt real, and if the space collapsed, he could be in true danger.
Wu Tian hurriedly searched the collapsing cavern. After running just a few steps, the ground suddenly gave way beneath him. He tried to leap up, but for some reason, a vast force dragged him down relentlessly.
"Damn it! What the hell is happening...?" Wu Tian felt himself plunging into an endless abyss, darkness swallowing him as he lost consciousness.
He didn’t know how much time passed before he regained his senses. Looking around, he found himself in another stone chamber—this one smaller than the last.
"Don’t tell me I have to fight another divine beast!" Wu Tian patted his aching head, utterly speechless.
At that moment, a shadow slowly entered his field of vision. Seeing it, Wu Tian’s eyes widened in disbelief.
