Chapter 94: Drawing the Sword to Assist
"Damn! The Young Lord is at it again, hurting people. He's utterly shameless, actually sending four men at once. That's just outright trying to cripple Li Iron Egg or kill him!"
"Judging by Li Iron Egg's condition, he's already suffering from severe internal injuries. I doubt he'll make it through this time!"
...
The onlookers around all thought the Young Lord was despicable, but none dared step forward to intervene. In New Leaf City, the Young Lord was notorious for his arrogance. Anyone who defied his will rarely lived long; nobody wanted to be the scapegoat.
"Boss, that so-called Young Lord is really bullying him. Should we go help?" Niu Wujie asked indignantly as he witnessed the scene.
"Let’s wait and see. Li Iron Egg suits my taste. We'll step in if it’s necessary," Wu Tian didn't rush forward—for now, since both Li Iron Egg and himself had accepted the challenge.
At this moment, Li Iron Egg had already assumed a defensive stance. The four guards circled him from all sides.
"Alright, I'm ready. You may begin!" Li Iron Egg planted his feet firmly and spoke, holding his breath.
"Go!" The four guards launched their fists at Li Iron Egg simultaneously.
Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Four muffled impacts echoed as fists struck flesh. Li Iron Egg's body convulsed, his feet sank into the ground, and blood started seeping from his mouth.
"Ha!"
Li Iron Egg widened his eyes, his fists clashing together with force. The four guards were thrown back involuntarily, their faces shocked as they stared at him.
Veins bulged on Li Iron Egg’s neck, his eyes bloodshot. After a moment, he regained his composure, wiped the blood from his lips, and addressed the Young Lord, "Young... Young Lord, thank you for your mercy. I endured it!"
With those words, Li Iron Egg picked up the four thousand taels of silver lying on the ground.
The Young Lord frowned, rising from his seat. "You actually withstood the attacks of my four guards? Then next, everyone will go at you!"
Li Iron Egg’s eyes widened, shaking his head, "Young Lord, forgive me. I can no longer continue. The challenge ends now."
"Hmph! You think you can end it just because you say so? Until you've taken punches from all my men, don't even think about stopping!" The Young Lord snapped harshly, his arrogance evident.
"Young Lord, with all due respect, I have suffered severe internal injuries and cannot withstand further attacks. If you feel I've taken your money unjustly, I’ll return the silver to you." Li Iron Egg didn't want to cause trouble; he was desperate to treat his younger sister.
"You’re not getting out of this today, whether you like it or not. Don’t think you can leave New Leaf City without taking my men’s blows. On my territory, you follow my rules!" Wei Ao Xiong sneered, pointing at Li Iron Egg.
"Young Lord, if I have offended you in any way, I beg forgiveness. My little sister is gravely ill and needs urgent treatment. Once she is healed, I will come to beg your pardon immediately!" Li Iron Egg pleaded, unable to risk more conflict with such responsibility weighing on him.
"I don’t care who you need to save. This is finally entertaining, and you dare say it’s over? No way! You must take punches from all my men, or you won’t leave here alive!" Wei Ao Xiong roared viciously. "Surround him! Don’t let him take a single step!"
"Young Lord, there must be reason in all things—"
"Reason? Ha! Ask anyone in New Leaf City who decides what's reasonable! Here, I am the law! You dare talk reason with me? Your brain must be rusted. Enough talk! All of you, prepare to strike together! One punch each. Whoever knocks him down gets ten thousand taels of silver from me!" Wei Ao Xiong laughed maniacally, his arrogance overwhelming, utterly disregarding Li Iron Egg.
Li Iron Egg’s expression darkened. Wei Ao Xiong had at least thirty guards by his side. Under normal circumstances, Li Iron Egg wouldn’t have cared, but now he had already taken over twenty punches and suffered severe internal injuries. Even summoning his true energy was difficult.
"The Young Lord offers a reward! Brothers, get him! Ha ha..." The guards, excited by the prospect of reward, rubbed their fists and charged at Li Iron Egg.
Of course, Li Iron Egg wouldn't surrender. However, as he tried to muster his true energy, pain wracked his chest, and blood seeped from his mouth.
"Damn it! I'll fight you all to the death!" Despite his injuries, Li Iron Egg refused to give up, eyes blazing red as he punched the nearest guard.
Boom! The guard crashed heavily to the ground, knocked unconscious.
"Ugh!" Li Iron Egg finally couldn't withstand his injuries, coughing up a mouthful of blood as he crouched painfully, barely keeping himself upright with his arm.
But as Li Iron Egg knocked down one guard, a dozen more surged forward, instantly surrounding him and pushing him towards a vicious beating.
The surrounding townsfolk covered their eyes; none dared to help. They could only watch helplessly as Li Iron Egg was attacked.
Suddenly, a violent whirlwind of blade energy swept towards the dozen guards, sending them flying.
"Aah..." Their screams echoed as they were hurled backwards.
After the wave of blade energy, the majority of Wei Ao Xiong's guards lay on the ground. Everyone stared at the scene in disbelief—even Li Iron Egg was stunned, not expecting someone would step in to help him.
"A crowd ganging up on a severely wounded man—what a spectacle! It’s laughable!" At this moment, Wu Tian appeared before Wei Ao Xiong, holding the Black Dragon Blade, his expression full of disdain.
"You... Who the hell are you?! How dare you meddle in my affairs? Are you tired of living?" Wei Ao Xiong demanded furiously, glaring at Wu Tian.
"I want to live, of course I do. Only an idiot like you wouldn't," Wu Tian replied with contempt, curling his lip.
"Then how dare you oppose me? Do you know who I am?" Wei Ao Xiong pointed at Wu Tian, shouting angrily.
"I don’t care who you are, I just don’t like the look of you. What’s it to you?" Wu Tian responded scornfully.
"You dare insult me! In New Leaf City, you insult me! Damn it, all of you, get him! Take down this bastard, quick!" Wei Ao Xiong was enraged, ordering the remaining guards to attack Wu Tian.
Though the guards hesitated, Wei Ao Xiong’s command outweighed their doubts, and they all drew their swords and charged at Wu Tian.
"Hero, be careful!" Li Iron Egg warned anxiously.
"A dozen seventh-level martial masters? What can they do to me? I'll take down as many as they come!" Wu Tian said lazily, swinging the Black Dragon Blade in midair. A surge of formidable blade energy swept out.
Boom...
