Chapter 154: The Beautiful Roommate
Wang Zhen could be said to be the prime suspect in the vandalism incident at the Yayuan branch of Zhongtong Company. Now that Wang Zhen had unexpectedly suffered a traffic accident, it was as if he had vented the staff's pent-up frustration for them, which naturally boosted everyone's enthusiasm for work.
Li Mengfei also suddenly became polite to Zhang Wei, no longer addressing him as Manager Zhang, but instead calling him "Brother Wei" just like Guo Bin. Everyone was somewhat puzzled by Li Mengfei's sudden change, but Zhang Wei himself was more than happy to see it.
After the staff at the Yayuan branch had been excited for a while, they plunged back into their intense work. After all, this incident at best gave them a good laugh; it had no direct bearing on their own interests.
Meanwhile, Tiantian Company presented a completely different picture. Five or six employees were gathered together, also discussing Wang Zhen's car accident, with a trace of worry on every face.
"Damn it, how can Brother Wang be so unlucky? Getting hit by a car just crossing the street."
"Do you think someone is trying to get revenge on our Brother Wang? Could that car accident have been intentionally arranged?" said a pockmarked, short and stout man.
"That's possible. Let's all guess who did it? Once I find out, I'll slaughter him."
As soon as this topic was brought up, everyone fell into a moment of contemplation, and then the pockmarked, short and stout man spoke first.
"Do you think it's Zhao Yu from Lianjia Company? That guy has extensive connections and the capability to do it."
"I think it looks like Liu Neng from Maitan Company. Last time Brother Wang led people to break his leg, and Brother Wang's leg was the part injured this time."
"I feel it's Zhang Wei from Zhongtong Company. This guy was knocked unconscious by Brother Wang, and we smashed up his store too, so the grudge is not small."
"No, no, I think it looks like Chen Ming from Shiji Company. He was Wang Ying's former boyfriend. Since his girlfriend was snatched away by Wang Zhen, he had long threatened to take revenge on Brother Wang."
Just as the employees of Tiantian Company were arguing in a chaotic mess, Wang Ying walked into the office. Seeing the scene before her, her expression turned cold, and she rebuked: "Enough, all of you stop stirring up trouble here. Go back to whatever you're supposed to be doing. Even though Brother Wang cannot come to the company for a period of time, I am still here to handle company matters. It won't collapse."
"Sister Wang, what on earth is going on with Brother Wang's car accident? Is someone taking revenge on us?" asked the pockmarked, short and stout man. Having done some unscrupulous deeds following Wang Zhen, they also had a guilty conscience.
"Little Fatty, stop letting your imagination run wild. This car accident was purely an accident, and the driver doesn't know Brother Wang at all," Wang Ying said in a firm tone. "Everyone back to work!"
Wang Zhen's unexpected traffic accident had a huge impact on the store. All Wang Ying could do was try her best to stabilize the employees' emotions. As for the matter of Wang Zhen's accident, she too had suspected whether someone was carrying out a malicious act of revenge.
However, the car accident had already been ruled an accidental traffic collision, and the driver was willing to cover all expenses. Even Wang Zhen's uncle had no reason to pursue the matter further; from the evidence, the incident was indeed an accident.
The most crucial reason was that Wang Zhen had offended too many people; the number of those with a motive to exact revenge on him was too high to count on two hands. Wang Ying actually hoped the incident was just an accident, because anyone capable of orchestrating such a watertight car accident was someone even Wang Zhen's uncle would not dare to provoke.
Without Wang Zhen as the backbone of the store, Tiantian Company's operational model would inevitably have to change. At least they could no longer focus primarily on cutting clients, otherwise, if another agency came over to make trouble, she as a woman would not be able to handle it.
Thinking of this, Wang Ying could not help but sigh, muttering, "Had I known things would end up like this, I should have persuaded Wang Zhen to turn over a new leaf. That would still be better than him suffering in the hospital right now, not to mention we have no idea whether the company can even survive."
...
Because it was a rainy day, there were not many clients visiting the store. Zhang Wei focused his energy on Chen Jiansheng, giving him a phone call to inform him that he had communicated with the property owner, though he deliberately omitted the owner's willingness to lower the price by 500,000 yuan.
Zhang Wei chose not to tell Chen Jiansheng about the price reduction to avoid giving him the illusion that it was easy to bargain. Otherwise, Chen Jiansheng would surely demand further price cuts, which would severely impact the final closure of the deal.
Instead, Zhang Wei subtly highlighted the advantages of that villa, and informed Chen Jiansheng that another agency had already brought clients to view the same semi-detached villa, creating a sense of urgency that pushed Chen Jiansheng to increase his purchasing budget.
Ultimately, under Zhang Wei's clever guidance, Chen Jiansheng raised his offer by another 500,000 yuan, agreeing to purchase the semi-detached villa for 3.45 million yuan. Zhang Wei promised once again that he would do his utmost to communicate further with the owner, and then the two hung up the phone.
Chen Jiansheng was Liu Cheng's client, and that semi-detached villa was Wang Jian's listing. Therefore, after communicating with Chen Jiansheng, Zhang Wei updated both men on the latest developments of the deal to help put their minds at ease.
"Brother Wei, with just one phone call each to the owner and the client, you got them to lower the price by 500,000 yuan on each side, narrowing the price gap from two million yuan down to one million yuan. Doesn't that mean with just a little more communication with both parties, this deal is practically guaranteed?" Liu Cheng said with an excited expression.
"Alright, it's not as simple as you think. We are still a long way from closing the deal," Zhang Wei smiled and shook his head.
The reason Zhang Wei was able to get both the owner and the client to lower their prices by 500,000 yuan with a single phone call was because both had initially quoted inflated figures, and the current price represented their actual bottom lines. Making them drop their prices further would take much more than just a phone call.
"Ring, ring..." At that moment, a telephone ring suddenly sounded off.
Zhang Wei took out his phone and saw Su Fei's caller ID on the screen. He pressed the answer button and said, "Hello, Miss Su."
"It's me, Mr. Zhang. I've decided to rent your apartment, and I hope to move in as soon as possible," Su Fei said.
"No problem, I can sign the contract at any time, and you can move right in then," Zhang Wei replied.
"I happen to have a day off today. Do you think noon works?" Su Fei asked.
"Sure, I'll wait for you at home at twelve noon, and I'll have the contract prepared in advance," Zhang Wei said.
"Great, see you at noon then," Su Fei said playfully before hanging up.
After ending the call, Zhang Wei glanced at his watch; it was already past ten in the morning. Since Su Fei had decided to rent the apartment, Zhang Wei naturally needed to head back early to tidy up, or at least pack away his personal belongings.
Zhang Wei waved to the sales associates in the store, made up a casual excuse to brush them off, told them to call him if anything came up, and hurried back to his apartment. He packed up his things in the room and waited for Su Fei to arrive.
At twelve noon, Su Fei arrived at Zhang Wei's home right on time. She was dressed just as sexy as before, and readily signed the contract with Zhang Wei, handing over a 2,500 yuan deposit, while the remaining 7,500 yuan would be transferred to his card in the afternoon.
Zhang Wei gave Su Fei a set of house keys, and the two officially became apartment-sharing roommates. Because he had to go back to work in the afternoon, Zhang Wei didn't help Su Fei move her belongings, but instead went straight back to the Zhongtong branch.
Suddenly having an unfamiliar roommate made Zhang Wei feel somewhat unaccustomed to it, but fortunately, the other party was a beauty, which at least prevented any sense of aversion on his part.
"Ring, ring..." While Zhang Wei was taking a noon nap, the phone on his desk suddenly rang.
Zhang Wei took out his phone and saw Fat Man Zhou's caller ID on the screen. He pressed the answer button and asked, "Hello, Brother Zhou."
"Hey, are you busy?" Fat Man Zhou asked.
"Not busy. What's up?" Zhang Wei said.
"Nothing much, I'm just idling around myself," Fat Man Zhou replied.
"Just now, Xiang Xiaomeng from Yueda Company called me, saying that the plot of land will officially start construction in a couple of days, and invited me to attend the groundbreaking ceremony. Are you going?" Fat Man Zhou asked.
"Go? Of course I am." Hearing anything related to primary real estate projects, even if it was just a celebratory groundbreaking event, always made Zhang Wei quite excited.
"Alright, I'll let you know when the time comes, we brothers will go together," Fat Man Zhou said.
"Okay, we'll talk when we meet then!" Zhang Wei said meaningfully, and the two hung up the phone.
In the afternoon, aside from Guo Bin successfully securing a rental client, Zhang Wei's team did not take on any other clients. Zhang Wei called Liu Cheng and Li Mengfei into the conference room to coach them on some fundamental real estate knowledge.
After the evening meeting concluded, they left work promptly at nine o'clock. Zhang Wei walked out of the Zhongtong branch and headed straight home, only to notice upon approaching that the lights in his apartment were on, making him suddenly remember that he now had a roommate.
Returning to his doorstep, Zhang Wei unlocked and opened the apartment door, immediately greeted by a faint, elegant fragrance. If he hadn't been certain of his apartment number, he might have thought he had walked into the wrong place. Stepping inside, however, left him even more astonished.
Zhang Wei's previous interior style was mainly plain and simple, with virtually no excessive decorations. Now, however, the entire living room was splashed with colorful touches—fresh flowers, wind chimes, curtains, and sofa covers had all been replaced with new ones, giving Zhang Wei the illusion that he had moved into a brand-new home.
Glancing around the rooms, Zhang Wei noticed that Su Fei's bedroom door was closed, while the sound of running water came from the bathroom, suggesting she was likely taking a shower. Deciding not to disturb her, he returned to his own bedroom to change clothes before heading back out to the living room.
Since this was Su Fei's first day moving in and they didn't know each other well yet, Zhang Wei felt he should communicate with her a bit, at least to check if she was adjusting well or had any complaints about the place.
A dozen minutes later, Su Fei emerged from the bathroom, and a wave of fresh fragrance drifted into Zhang Wei's nose. Turning his head, Zhang Wei saw that Su Fei had her long hair coiled up, wearing only a bath towel wrapped around her body, exposing large areas of fair, snowy skin.
Fresh from the shower, Su Fei's skin was exceptionally tender and dewy. Her twin semi-circular breasts were slightly revealed, with a deep and pale cleavage between them. Her delicate arms were crossed over her chest, and her slender legs were exposed to the air. The bath towel reached only to her hips, and as she walked and swayed, Zhang Wei could faintly glimpse half of her buttocks.
Suddenly, Zhang Wei felt a hint of eager anticipation regarding this newly arrived beautiful roommate...
