The forest at night was anything but quiet. Leaves rustled in the wind, birds sang, insects chirped, and from time to time there came the roar of some unidentified beast, along with the sound of footsteps.

The footsteps were rapid and steady; it was easy to tell that two people were moving quickly through the woods.

They were Higashino Yu and Obito. By now, they had already left the site of the earlier battle and were hurrying toward the heart of the Hidden Leaf Village.

They had already learned about the Nine-Tails from an Uchiha ninja they had happened to meet along the way.
