“Room 308!” Chen Hao glanced at the door card for confirmation, then pointed to the wall. “Look over there!”

Jiang Lun turned his head and feigned surprise. “Wow! What’s this?”

Seeing the spinning wheel, his heart trembled slightly. It wasn’t surprising that the planning team and props department had created such things, but to see it all materialized before his eyes stirred an excitement that was hard to suppress.

“This is how you choose the method to wake them up. You can throw a dart to pick one!”

“So difficult!” Jiang Lun said as he picked up a dart and began aiming.

“Three, two, one... throw!”

The dart flew along its trajectory and landed steadily on the spinning wheel.

Looking at the wake-up method it landed on, Jiang Lun couldn’t help but ask, “Ah? Won’t this actually hit someone?”

Chen Hao stifled a mischievous grin. “You chose the result yourself. We’ll give you five minutes to prepare. We’ll be waiting at the door!”

“All right, all right!” Jiang Lun nodded repeatedly.

“Cut the cameras!” After filming this segment, Chen Hao said to the cameraman behind him, then instructed Jiang Lun, “Get dressed; we’re heading out first.”

“Okay!” Jiang Lun stretched and yawned, waiting until everyone left before getting out of bed to dress.

When he stepped out again fully dressed, the cameras resumed filming.

“Room 308! Let’s see who’s in 308!”

Jiang Lun’s eyes were bloodshot as he walked and spoke to the camera.

When he reached the door of room 308, he hesitated briefly, clasped his hands nervously, and said, “Amitabha! Sorry, brothers and sisters inside, whether male or female, please don’t hit me. Everything is arranged by the production team. Amitabha! Amitabha!”

Chen Hao was quite pleased watching his performance on camera; this segment’s variety show effect was well achieved.

“Click...”

The door opened. Jiang Lun quietly pushed it and stepped inside. The room was pitch black, filled with snores.

From the sound, he discerned it was a man, which eased his mind considerably. Waking a man was always better than waking a woman.

“Shh!”

Jiang Lun gestured quietly toward the camera. “Be gentle!”

The crew tiptoed in, inspecting props, setting up lights and cameras.

“It’s just past four in the morning. This guy in bed, we don’t know who he is. Let’s wake him up!”

Jiang Lun whispered, approaching the bedside, locating the sleeper’s head and recognizing him. He turned around with a sly smile. “It’s Teacher Sun Wu!”

He took a water gun from a crew member, took a deep breath, and pressed the trigger directly on Sun Wu’s head.

“Sssshhh...”

“Pfft! Who! Who!”

Sun Wu jolted awake as water splashed his face, sitting up abruptly, retreating while shielding himself with his hands and shouting angrily.

“Haha...” Jiang Lun couldn’t help laughing. “Teacher Sun Wu! Time to get up!”

“Who are you?” Sun Wu, eyes still closed, searched around for anything to wipe his face with.

A crew member immediately handed him tissues. After wiping his face and opening his eyes, he saw Jiang Lun and a group of staff behind him, cameras rolling, lights on. He grumbled, “What are you doing? What time is it? A raid? After yesterday’s exhaustion, can’t a person get some proper sleep?”

“Teacher Sun Wu, are you awake?” Jiang Lun asked nervously.

“Who? Jiang Lun?” Sun Wu recognized the voice and complained, “Of course I’m awake. Why are you messing with me? Old folks like me don’t have good energy. I finally got a good sleep. Do you think this is easy for me?”

Jiang Lun’s tone shifted abruptly, chuckling. “Well, since you’re awake, my mission is complete. I’m off! The production team will explain the rest to you.”

“Wait! Stop right there!” Sun Wu probably only had his underwear on. He wanted to jump up and grab Jiang Lun but was restrained by the cameras. He looked like a scorned woman, blowing his nose and glaring fiercely.

At this moment, Chen Hao stepped forward, pointing to the spinning wheel. “Teacher Sun Wu, please take a look at this board first.”

“What’s this?” Sun Wu squinted and studied it for a while, mumbling the wake-up methods aloud. Suddenly enlightened, he exclaimed, “Damn! This is brilliant! Who designed this?”

“Now please draw the next person to wake up!”

Saying this, Chen Hao handed the lottery box to Sun Wu again.

Sun Wu fished around for a while, pulled out a door card, and peeked at it. “301? Is it a man or a woman?”

“That, we don’t know!” Chen Hao smiled.

Sun Wu racked his brain, trying to recall who it was. He had visited every room yesterday, but he couldn’t remember 301 at all.

“Please throw the dart!”

“All right, all right!” Sun Wu gripped the dart fiercely. “Jiang Lun, I want you to kiss a girl on camera! Hehehe!”

The dart shot out quickly and landed on “Play Music on Phone.”

“Tsk tsk, that’s not exciting enough!”

Sun Wu scratched the back of his head and said to the camera, “Jiang Lun, hurry up! Room 301 is waiting for your music!”

“Wait! Teacher Sun Wu, you’re the one waking up the next person!” Chen Hao reminded him.

“What?” Sun Wu was stunned. “Say that again?”

“The next person is woken up by you!”

“Damn!” Sun Wu slapped his thigh. “When did you change the rules? Even us old-timers get bullied now? Wasn’t it always the newbies waking people up?”

“That was before. We have new rules now!”

Chen Hao smiled but spoke bluntly.

“All right!” Sun Wu pointed at the camera. “Wait... Director, call Jiang Lun over to go with me.”

“He’s already done his task and went back to sleep.”

“Went back to sleep?” Sun Wu’s eyes widened. “Do you have any mercy? Any justice?”

“We’ll wait five minutes. Please be dressed and ready to go by then.”

“Fine, fine! You all go out!” Sun Wu looked disgruntled, waving the staff away.

At this moment, Jiang Lun really returned to his room and went back to sleep.

As for what happened in the other rooms, he had no idea. He’d have to wait for the broadcast to find out.

At noon, around eleven-thirty, everyone was gathered again in front of the hotel.

Some had just woken up, some were already awake, and some had been roused and hadn’t fallen asleep since.

Except for Jiang Lun, everyone else cast resentful looks at the crew.

Chen Hao was still sleeping, having pulled an all-nighter yesterday and only gone to bed that morning.

The on-site director now was someone else. Seeing the murderous looks in everyone’s eyes, he smiled and asked, “Did everyone get a good night’s sleep?”

“No!” everyone answered in unison.

You Chao was quite dissatisfied. “What’s with the morning games? Who thought up that lousy game? If you want me to kiss, just say so! There are so many girls here, and you sent Sun Wu?”

“I was sprayed awake with a water gun by Jiang Lun!” Sun Wu immediately jumped out to complain. “I haven’t even finished my grievances!”

The four girls were even more upset. When they were filmed, some barely had clothes on and almost got exposed on camera. How could they be happy?

The director laughed. “All right, let’s eat first. Later, we’ll have today’s ultimate mission: the treasure chest battle. Now, let’s bring out the food!”

“Oh, I’m starving!” With food on the table, Li Donghe’s grievances vanished instantly. “Director, if today’s lunch is still orange peel, I’ll feed it to you!”

“No way! No way!” The director waved his hands laughingly.

When the food arrived, everyone saw a very sumptuous spread.

Complaints forgotten, they all sat down and started eating.

The afternoon’s game was the old routine from “Speed Run”: four teams competing for treasure chests. In the entire game area, there were twelve chests, but only one was real. Players had to find the true chest based on clues from the fake ones.

The veterans were well versed in this: wherever there was a camera, there was always something.

In the end, the treasure chest was won by Li Donghe and Zhang Ziling, who each received a commemorative “Speed Run” ring. Jiang Lun, like the others, received an honorary “Speed Run” badge.

The filming wrapped up completely by nine in the evening. Qin Xin had to rush back to the city to prepare for tomorrow’s show, so she left early.

The rest stayed behind, sharing a farewell dinner together.
