“Are these the gifts you prepared?”
Zhang Ziying gazed at the row of chests and wooden boxes arranged on the coffee table, her eyes shining as she looked at Li Yunfei.
“Of course! Come, sit down. Let me introduce them to you.”
Full of enthusiasm, Li Yunfei pulled Zhang Ziying onto the sofa and opened the box containing the pills first.
He took out the various pills one by one and introduced them. “This is a Marrow-Washing Pill. You can tell what it does from the name: it cleanses the essence, purifies the marrow, and strengthens the body... This is a Meridian-Transforming Pill. It reshapes the meridians, tempers the bones, and refines the flesh...”
After introducing all the pills that enhanced the four attributes, Li Yunfei concluded, “Once you refine and absorb all these pills, the strength of your body and soul should increase to roughly ten times that of an ordinary person.”
“In that state, even without relying on cultivation or spiritual attainment, your physical strength alone would be enough to overwhelm most first-awakening Awakened. Your combat power would be at least Green-rank.”
When other people took these pills, the effects were different from what happened with Li Yunfei and Honghong. Their bodies were digitized, and the items they possessed were digitized as well; everything was governed by data.
Once they swallowed a pill and their statistics increased, they immediately possessed the corresponding strength or ability.
That was not the case for people with ordinary, non-digitized bodies. After taking the pills, they still had to circulate their cultivation and refine and absorb the medicinal power before they could obtain the strength the pills provided.
Zhang Ziying exclaimed, “As expected of something produced by the Flame Emperor. It’s incredibly powerful.”
Li Yunfei smiled faintly. “There’s something even better. You’ll absolutely love these pills. No woman could possibly resist them.”
Zhang Ziying looked at the newly produced bottle in his hand. Several words were written across it: “Hundred-Spirit Snow-Beauty Pills.”
Curiosity filled her eyes. “What kind of pills are these? Don’t tell me they’re for beauty and skincare.”
“More or less,” Li Yunfei replied, “but they’re far more powerful than you imagine. The Hundred-Spirit Snow-Beauty Pills can increase your resistance to toxins. Once you’ve taken the entire course, you’ll develop a body immune to a hundred poisons. That is the ‘Hundred-Spirit’ aspect.”
“As for the ‘Snow-Beauty’ aspect, it slows the aging of the body and nourishes the skin. Once you’ve finished all the pills, you’ll retain your youth forever and remain a beautiful young woman until the day you die.”
“Cultivation can indeed slow aging, but before one attains immortality, the body will still gradually grow old. After several centuries, you might end up as a kindly old grandmother.”
“But after taking these pills, none of that will be a problem.”
Sure enough, no woman could resist the allure of eternal youth and unfading beauty.
After hearing Li Yunfei’s explanation, Zhang Ziying stared ardently at the pills, secretly deciding that she would refine them first. Even if it delayed her cultivation for a while, she would not care.
Li Yunfei took out the final type of pill. “These are Spirit Serpent Pills. They have only one effect: they increase the flexibility of the bones, tendons, and sinews.”
“After taking all of them, your bones will become as supple as a snake’s body. You’ll never have to worry about fractures again. Watch.”
As he spoke, Li Yunfei raised his left arm, seized his forearm with his right hand, and bent it.
His forearm bent more than one hundred and eighty degrees and folded back upon itself.

Before Zhang Ziying could even cry out, Li Yunfei released it. His left forearm snapped straight again like a spring.
Then he pulled one of Zhang Ziying’s arms toward him and wrapped his own arm around it.
Looking at Li Yunfei’s arm coiled around hers like a rope, Zhang Ziying swallowed nervously.
A bizarre image surfaced in her mind: those cartoons she had secretly watched as a girl, in which there had been a monster resembling an octopus, with countless tentacles...
“See? That’s the effect. Not only does it make you nearly immune to blunt-force attacks, it also greatly increases your survivability. You’ll be very difficult to restrain.” Li Yunfei withdrew his arm and summarized the benefits.
Nearby, Honghong licked her lollipop and muttered softly, “And it unlocks more positions.”
The room fell silent.
Though her voice had been quiet, both Li Yunfei and Zhang Ziying were cultivators. At such close range, how could they possibly have failed to hear her?
Li Yunfei turned his stiff neck toward her, staring at her with a head full of black lines. In a hoarse voice, he asked, “Where did you learn that?”
Honghong blinked, her smile bright and innocent. “What do you think, Big Brother Master?”
Zhang Ziying glared at Li Yunfei. “What sort of nonsense have you been teaching her?”
“I never taught her...” Li Yunfei began, but before he could finish, he fell silent.
He suddenly remembered that, when Honghong had still been a fox, she would often return to the Beast Companion Space.
Afraid that she would feel lonely and bored, he had taken the initiative to open his mind and connect his consciousness with hers, allowing her to perceive the outside world through him.
The consequence, however, was that she had also glimpsed some of his memories.
That was why, despite having once been merely a little fox who had only gained intelligence and then followed him through various instances, wandering through remote mountains and ancient forests with no opportunity to study, she had somehow acquired an extensive knowledge of human affairs after taking human form.
When all was said and done, it really could be considered his fault. Everything Honghong knew had come from him.
Li Yunfei had nothing to say. His shoulders slumped, and he admitted his guilt with a deeply dejected expression. “I was wrong. I shouldn’t have corrupted a child.”
Honghong put on an equally sincere expression. “I was wrong too. I shouldn’t have learned things children aren’t supposed to learn.”
Watching the large and small pair stare at each other, Zhang Ziying helplessly pressed a hand to her forehead. “All right, that’s enough, you two! Are you performing a comedy routine here?”
“Heh heh heh...”
“Hee hee...”
Their expressions changed at once, both of them wearing impish grins.
Honghong hugged one of Zhang Ziying’s arms and rested her head against it. Li Yunfei clasped both hands behind his head, leaned back, and settled against the sofa.
They looked just like a husband and daughter shamelessly acting spoiled before their wife and mother.

A feeling of home welled up in the hearts of all three of them—warm, intimate, and comforting.
After enjoying that tender moment for a while, Li Yunfei continued introducing the gifts he had prepared for Zhang Ziying.
What surprised and impressed him was that Zhang Ziying felt no resistance whatsoever toward the Bloodthirsty Flying Sword.
The reasons she gave were exactly the same as those Li Yunfei had considered himself. They revealed the breadth of her perspective.
Once he had finished introducing the pills and magical treasures, Li Yunfei finally opened the portable safe.
The neatly stacked spirit stones had a far greater impact on Zhang Ziying than an entire case of banknotes would have had.
She looked at Li Yunfei hesitantly. “You’re giving me so many. Do you still have any for yourself?”
Li Yunfei answered casually, “I have plenty. They’re practically overflowing.”
As he spoke, he waved his hand, and another enormous pile of spirit stones appeared on the floor beside them.
Honghong cast the two of them a strange glance.
That exchange... Why did it sound vaguely suggestive?
Zhang Ziying, however, noticed nothing unusual. When she saw the spirit stones piled up like a small hill, even her breathing faltered. They were worth far more than an equal volume of gold bricks.
Before she could ask, Li Yunfei explained, “I don’t know how it happened either. Perhaps it’s an awakened ability. There’s an independent space inside my body where I can store items. At present, it’s about one hundred cubic meters.”
“Don’t worry. I have plenty of spirit stones. We might not use them all even by the time we cultivate into immortals. Use them as you please, and tell me when you run out.”
Hearing this, Zhang Ziying finally relaxed. She was somewhat dazed as she said, “The gift you’ve given me must be worth at least a billion. I... I truly don’t know what to say...”
Seeing her expression, Li Yunfei casually threw an arm around her shoulders, just as he had always done.
He put on a magnanimous air. “Didn’t we agree when we were children? What’s yours is mine, and what’s mine is yours. Why bring this up?”
Honghong grinned like a little fox and chimed in, “That includes the children too. If you two don’t get married, you’ll never hear the end of it.”
Li Yunfei and Zhang Ziying exchanged a glance, then suddenly pinned the little girl down on the sofa.
“You’ve been getting a little too full of yourself lately!”
“Brats need to be taught a lesson.”
“Ha ha ha... Ah... Stop... I’m sorry... Don’t tickle me... Ha ha ha ha...”
