Chapter 130: The Great Uproar in the Pill Sect (Part One)
Several flashes of intense light streaked across the sky, unleashed by Gao Tong’s life-bound magical treasure, the Flowing Cloud Slash.
"We must attack together. Even with all his power, he cannot withstand the combined might of so many of us," the other elders of the Alchemy Sect whispered, huddled together to devise a plan, yet none dared to make the first move. In truth, the longer one lives, the more they fear death; no one was willing to see centuries of cultivation destroyed in an instant.
"Elder Gu is right," another elder added. "Although that scoundrel’s strength is unfathomable, we are no pushovers. With the six of us, we are more than enough to deal with him, not to mention Elder Gao is also here."
They knew that if the Sect Master discovered they had been standing by as mere spectators, the consequences would be dire. Thus, even knowing the mountain was home to a tiger, they felt compelled to venture into its den.
"Very well. Let us attack together. Hold nothing back. It would be best to kill him in a single strike to prevent any future trouble," the other elders agreed.
Across the field, Gu Shi viewed Gao Tong as nothing more than a clown, and the other elders were equally insignificant in his eyes. With a casual palm strike, he shattered Gao Tong’s treasure, followed immediately by a punch that landed squarely on the man. That single blow contained fifty percent of Gu Shi’s strength; how could Gao Tong possibly survive? In an instant, Gao Tong was transformed into a cold, mangled corpse, a gruesome sight to behold.
All the Alchemy Sect disciples were stunned, staring at the scene in disbelief, their shock refusing to fade. Their minds were filled with questions—who could explain what had just happened? How could he have killed an elder they deemed invincible, and with a single blow at that? Was Elder Gao merely a fraud? If Gao Tong knew his disciples thought of him this way, he would likely be furious enough to crawl back from the grave. The disciples turned pale, still unable to process the reality before them.
"Hmph, I thought he would be impressive. He was nothing but a weakling," Gu Shi sneered, glancing at the disciples.
Lin Yanghao was also astonished. For a practitioner at the Refining Void stage to be taken down in one move—what kind of power was this? It was no wonder he had arrived here so fearlessly; he relied on his formidable strength. But what would happen when the true old monsters of the sect emerged? No matter how strong one was, they could only fight one at a time, and the sect possessed far more than just a few experts. Thinking of this, Lin Yanghao broke into a cold sweat.
"This..." The other elders had finally arrived, but upon seeing the death of Elder Gao, they froze, unable to utter a word. If Gao Tong couldn't even withstand a single strike, then surely they would fare no better. They immediately abandoned any thoughts of attacking Gu Shi, knowing it would be tantamount to suicide.
"Great! The elders are here! This devil surely cannot escape now!" someone shouted. "He must have used a sneak attack on Elder Gao; otherwise, he would never have been a match for him!"
"Yes, that must be it!"
The elders, hearing this, could have wept. Nothing was more awkward than this. If they could, their only desire would be to strike down these ignorant and ridiculous disciples.
"Oh? Does it take a sneak attack to kill your pathetic elder? You overestimate him far too much. And as for you lot—you’re all trash. I doubt any of you could withstand a single blow from me, either," Gu Shi said with disdain. It seemed the number one sect in the cultivation world was nothing special.
"Senior, we are indeed no match for you," Elder Gu Chengwen said, cupping his hands. "But may I ask why you have come to cause trouble for us for no reason?"
The elders were truly terrified. If Gu Shi claimed that all of them combined couldn't withstand a single strike, did that not mean he was far more powerful than their Sect Master? Even their Sect Master would have to exert effort to defeat three of them, let alone kill them all in one go. This person's strength was unfathomable; even if the sect’s ancient masters emerged, they might not be able to stop him.
"Hmph," Gu Shi glanced at the elders coldly. "I was in seclusion, and just as I reached a critical juncture, I was disturbed, causing all my efforts to go to waste. If not for a stroke of luck, I wouldn't be standing here today!"
"That is impossible," Gu Chengwen said in disbelief. "Our Alchemy Sect would never do such a thing. I believe you must be mistaken, Senior." In the cultivation world, disturbing someone’s meditation was the most despicable act. If that were truly the case, then his actions were indeed justified; Gu Chengwen knew he would not let it go either if he were in the same position.
"Hmph, it is useless to deny it, and it is not for you to decide," Gu Shi replied with a wicked smile, turning his gaze toward the disciples. "Since your Sect Master has chosen to be a coward, this debt must be paid in blood."
The disciples were completely petrified, the word "Senior" echoing in their ears.
"Senior, our Sect Master is on his way back," Gu Chengwen pleaded, sensing the situation spiraling out of control. "Please wait a moment. Everything will be made clear when he returns." Although the disciples were ignorant, this concerned the future of the entire Alchemy Sect. If they were all wiped out, who would be left?
"I do not have the patience for that. Let me kill a few for sport first." With a casual wave of his hand, two more disciples perished. Lin Yanghao watched with a pounding heart; while he knew Gu Shi was not as bloodthirsty as a typical demonic cultivator or a zombie, this cold-blooded nature was undeniable.
"Senior, by doing this, you are making an enemy of the Alchemy Sect!" Gu Chengwen cried out. "You have already killed three of our disciples. If you do not stop now, we will fight you to the death!"
"Oh? I would like to see how you intend to do that," Gu Shi sneered. "Nothing scares me more than a fight to the death."
Two more cries of agony rang out as another two disciples fell.
