Chapter 143: The Informer
“Do you remember how you shouted at me in the inn?” Leng Ya asked Lin Yanghao, wiping away his sweat.
“You can’t possibly mean that you want to kill me over something like that, can you?” Lin Yanghao was rendered utterly speechless and remained silent for a long while.
He actually wanted to kill him over such a trivial matter?
Wasn’t he being a little too petty?
Fortunately, he cultivated the Chaos Divine Spirit Art. Otherwise, wouldn’t he have died an utterly unjust death? Just like that, confused and without even knowing why?
Still, Lin Yanghao was relieved to learn that his identity had not been exposed.
“You heard him yourself. It seems it wasn’t because of that,” Lin Yanghao said, turning to Bone Stone.
At the same time, taking advantage of Lin Yanghao’s distraction, Leng Ya realized that his chance had come.
“With my heart’s blood, flee a thousand miles—sacrifice!”
Leng Ya secretly formed several hand seals, then clenched his teeth and forced a drop of blood from his chest.
This was heart blood, the catalyst for the secret technique he was about to use.
“Not good! He’s trying to escape!” Bone Stone was the first to notice something amiss.
Lin Yanghao immediately reached out to seize Leng Ya.
“Everything that happened today, I, Leng Ya, will remember forever. We have a long road ahead of us. One day, I will repay every debt in full.”
Forcing himself to remain upright, Leng Ya finished speaking. In the blink of an eye, he vanished without a trace.
Only a pool of blood remained behind.
“What happened?” Lin Yanghao was at a loss. Even if he wanted to pursue Leng Ya, he had no idea where to begin.
“If I am not mistaken, that was the Blood Escape Technique,” Bone Stone said gravely.
“The Blood Escape Technique? What is that?” Lin Yanghao asked in confusion. He had never heard of such a technique before.
Yet its name alone made it clear that it was nothing good.
“The Blood Escape Technique is a secret art of escape that uses one’s heart blood as the price. Anyone who employs it will lose more than half of their lifespan.”
“What? Does that mean that even if he escapes, he won’t have long to live?”
“If he can reach the Deity Transformation stage within the lifespan he has left, he will naturally be able to restore it,” Bone Stone said with a sigh.
Neither of them had expected Leng Ya to possess such a trick. It had caught them completely off guard.
When faced with a choice between losing one’s life and losing one’s lifespan, anyone would naturally choose the latter. After all, a miserable life was still better than a good death.

“Then should we continue pursuing him?” Lin Yanghao was unwilling to give up. The duck that had already fallen into their hands had somehow flown away.
“Pursue him? He’s already thousands of miles away. How exactly do you plan to find him?” Bone Stone was clearly just as unwilling to accept it.
As the saying went, if one failed to pull up the weeds by their roots, they would grow again when the spring wind blew.
They had effectively released a tiger back into the mountains. Trouble would be endless in the future.
If their enemy remained hidden, a surprise attack from the shadows could put them in grave danger.
“What should we do now?”
“What else can we do? Keep running, of course. Don’t tell me you want to turn back.” With that, Bone Stone grabbed Lin Yanghao and raced toward the Thousand Saints Marsh.
Lin Yanghao nodded. Bone Stone was right. Turning back might well lead to further complications, especially with Leng Ya remaining an unpredictable factor.
……
“Lin Yanghao, everything I have suffered today is because of you. I will never let you go!”
Leng Ya was already a thousand miles away.
His face was covered in frost, and an indescribably sinister aura surrounded him.
Blinded by hatred, Leng Ya could think of nothing but how to make Lin Yanghao die.
But he was not a fool. In his present condition, merely surviving would be difficult, much less taking revenge.
For now, the most urgent task was to heal his injuries and raise his strength.
Before long, Leng Ya returned to the inn.
His face was already deathly pale.
“Have you heard? The Pill Sect has circulated portraits of those two throughout the cultivation world.”
“Yes, yes. And they aren’t monsters at all—they’re two cultivators.”
“I heard that one of them is at the Tribulation Transcendence stage.”
When everyone heard that one of the two possessed Tribulation Transcendence cultivation, they were all stunned. To them, that realm was impossibly far beyond their reach.
“What about the other one? Don’t tell me he’s at the Great Ascension stage.”
“You’ve all got it wrong. The other one is merely at the Core Formation stage, nothing to fear. The important one is the Tribulation Transcendence cultivator.”
Upon hearing this, everyone present twitched faintly.
A Core Formation cultivator had actually dared to cause trouble at the Pill Sect?

How much courage did he have?
He truly did not know the limits of heaven and earth.
Yet that was not what shocked them most. The most astonishing thing was that Lin Yanghao had actually managed to retreat unscathed.
“Everyone, if any of you have news of those two, you must tell me. You will be richly rewarded. Here are portraits of them.”
Two men suddenly entered the inn from outside, each carrying one of the portraits of Lin Yanghao and Bone Stone.
“I’ve never seen them. What a pity.”
“Yes. The reward for revealing their whereabouts should be enough to support our cultivation for a long time. Unfortunately, we have no clue where they are.”
A chorus of helpless sighs rose from the crowd.
“It’s them! It really is them!”
Overcome with delight, Leng Ya could not stop himself from shouting aloud.
“Do you know the two people in the portraits?” Naturally, his words did not escape the ears of anyone present.
“I know them, I know them. I only met one of them yesterday.”
Leng Ya was extremely excited. If the people in the portraits truly were Lin Yanghao and Bone Stone, couldn’t he use them to borrow someone else’s blade and kill his enemies?
Moreover, he would receive a reward of five hundred thousand mid-grade spirit stones. With that much wealth, he could purchase a vast amount of cultivation resources. Returning to his peak would merely be a matter of time—and he might even become far stronger than before.
In other words, this would accomplish two things at once.
All he had to do was reveal Lin Yanghao and Bone Stone’s whereabouts.
“Quickly, tell us where they went!” the two men holding the portraits demanded almost simultaneously.
“Just look at me. This is what they did to me yesterday.”
“Where did they go? Tell us quickly!”
The two men were desperate to learn Lin Yanghao and Bone Stone’s whereabouts.
If they truly found Lin Yanghao, it would be an enormous achievement for them.
Leng Ya then told the two men everything he knew about Lin Yanghao and Bone Stone’s movements.
“Time is of the essence. Let’s hurry back and report this to the Supreme Elder.”
The two men were among the several elders of the Pill Sect.
“You’re coming with us as well.”
With that, they took Leng Ya along. Otherwise, if anything unexpected happened, they would have difficulty explaining themselves.
