Chapter 145: Breaking the Formation (Part One)

“How should I know what’s going on?” Lin Yanghao feigned a look of helplessness; after all, he couldn’t just admit that he was behind all this.
“It seems all of this must be connected to those damned guys!” Seeing these spirit beasts, Bone Stone naturally thought of Old Yu the Third, the Daoist of Eternal Spring, and the others.
Only they had ever been to the Thousand Saints Swamp, so naturally, they became Lin Yanghao’s scapegoats.
“Damn it all, just die already.” Bone Stone knew these spirit beasts wouldn’t give up so easily; if they followed them, a fight was inevitable.
At that moment, the spirit beasts on the ground glared furiously at Bone Stone as he descended, as if they could devour him at any moment.
“Wuwuwu~” some of the beasts emitted low growls that sounded almost like cries, leaving both Lin Yanghao and Bone Stone puzzled.
That sound resembled a low howl, eerily similar to sobbing.
“Could they be scared to tears by themselves?” Bone Stone suddenly wondered.
If Lin Yanghao knew what Bone Stone was thinking, he would surely scold him shamelessly—these spirit beasts, who risked their lives recklessly, how could they be frightened to tears?
But Bone Stone soon realized he had been completely wrong.
That wasn’t crying at all—it was a call for reinforcements.
More and more spirit beasts arrived, several times the number from before.
Bone Stone was dumbfounded. Where did all these spirit beasts come from?
“Could it be that all the spirit beasts from the Northern Domain have come here?” This was the first time he had ever seen so many.
He truly couldn’t understand what about the Thousand Saints Swamp attracted so many spirit beasts.
Although the cause was unclear, there had to be a reason—otherwise, why would they all gather here out of sheer boredom?
“Shadow Wind Slaughter Technique!” Although the spirit beasts here were generally weak, their sheer numbers were overwhelming.
If this dragged on, it would become a war of attrition that could wear him down completely.
Moreover, Bone Stone sensed that these beasts had gone mad.
Yes, mad—completely devoid of any cunning, driven by a single thought: to kill.
If it were only the number of spirit beasts they had faced earlier, Bone Stone wouldn’t be so intimidated. Though it would take some effort, he was confident he could handle them.
But now, with several times more beasts arriving, he was clearly outmatched.

Continuing to fight them was not a wise choice; retreat was the better strategy.
“Lin Yanghao, we’re no match for them. I’ll carve out a bloody path—escape quickly.” Bone Stone shouted fiercely before launching into a brutal assault against the beasts.
Several spirit beasts fell immediately.
“Hurry and run!”
“Okay. Can you hold them off?”
“With the strength they have? I don’t even take them seriously.” Lin Yanghao shot Bone Stone a look of disdain after hearing that.
“If you’re so strong, why run?”
There was no time to ponder further. Lin Yanghao quickly activated the Phantom Ghost Step and distanced himself from this dangerous place.
...
“Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.”
Above the Thousand Saints Swamp, there was a series of piercing sounds breaking the air.
In the blink of an eye, over a dozen sounds descended—they were none other than Lord Yuding and the others from Moxing City.
“Supreme Elder, there’s a formation blocking us; we can’t get through.” Anshan spoke up. Though they had long heard of the formation’s reputation, this was their first time witnessing it.
“Let’s try to break the formation first. If we can’t, then we’ll consider other methods.” Lord Yuding was uncertain; after all, the last formation they encountered was incredibly formidable.
Who knew if this one would be as powerful?
“I don’t believe it. It’s just a formation—how can it stop us? Watch this.” Moxing looked at the formation with disdain. To be honest, at their level of power, formations shouldn’t pose much of a barrier.
Before now, formations capable of dealing with those in the Tribulation stage were unheard of.
“Bang!” The great formation emitted a dull sound but remained intact, contrary to Moxing’s expectations.
“How is this possible? I’ll try again!” This time, Moxing unleashed his full strength, several attacks raining down on the formation.
Bang, bang, bang!
Boom, boom, boom!
Loud explosions echoed, but the harsh reality remained.

Bone Stone’s formation was still unscathed.
“What now? Even these top experts can’t break this formation—how will I ever avenge my great grudge?” Leng Ya’s heart was heavy. As long as Lin Yanghao remained alive, he could never rest easy.
“Brother Yuding, this formation is truly sinister. I just can’t break it.” Moxing spoke helplessly to Lord Yuding.
“Everyone, be cautious. This formation can’t be broken by brute force alone.” Lord Yuding fell into deep thought.
The urgent matter now was how to dismantle the formation.
At this rate, they couldn’t even enter the Thousand Saints Swamp, let alone capture Lin Yanghao and Bone Stone.
“You, come here.” Lord Yuding suddenly noticed Leng Ya outside and his face brightened as a plan formed in his mind.
“Senior, what do you need? Whatever it is, I’m willing to risk everything—even fire and water.” Leng Ya sensed something uneasy but dared not refuse Lord Yuding’s request. After all, what harm could come from being killed?
If he had no power or status, wasn’t he essentially dying in vain?
“Think about it—if we can’t break the formation from outside, what about from inside?” Lord Yuding said confidently. This method had to work!
“That’s a good idea, but we can’t even get in—how can we break it from within?” Moxing asked skeptically.
As for Leng Ya, no one believed that a Nascent Soul cultivator like him could dismantle the formation.
“We can’t get in, but don’t we have him?” Lord Yuding pointed to Leng Ya.
“Senior, how could someone like me possibly break this formation?” Leng Ya said eagerly before Moxing could speak.
He was realistic—although breaking the formation from inside might be possible, it was beyond his ability at the Nascent Soul stage.
“Exactly, Brother Yuding. Even if your idea is right, how can someone of his strength break the formation?” Moxing said.
“We can channel our power to him,” Lord Yuding suggested.
“Oh? You mean that method? But with his current physical condition, I doubt he can withstand the combined power of so many.” Anshan interjected.
