Chapter 74: My Ambitions Are Grand

“Fellow Su, this is...?”
“Hush!”
Feng Manyin gazed at the cramped mountain cave, utterly stunned. It was barely spacious enough for one person to sit cross-legged, let alone two—especially a man and a woman together! Though she always seemed youthful and energetic, that did not mean she was careless. Now, fear flickered in her eyes. This cave, buried beneath the snow, had clearly been prepared long in advance. Was he truly an undercover agent?
Su Yizhao, meanwhile, had no mind to savor the faint fragrance from her body. Instead, he warned her, “Do you see now? It really is dangerous outside. Someone as beautiful as you is not immune. Stay here, and stay safe!”
With his spiritual sense, he perceived two cultivators speeding through the night. One was Hua Chengshuang, at the peak of the Sixth Spirit Realm. He was not afraid of him. But the other, a middle-aged man, had a cultivation level he could not sense. Su Yizhao could only pray that he was not a Void Realm cultivator.
Feng Manyin’s breath became somewhat hurried. Su Yizhao edged as close to the cave wall as possible, which eased her nerves a little. Still, the two were scarcely more than a foot apart. Her once-proud, full bosom was now so close to his chest that it seemed any movement would bring them into contact. She desperately wished she could use her cultivation to bind herself tighter.
His warnings came in a hurried whisper, and given their proximity, she dared not say much for fear of drawing attention. Inwardly, she urged him to hurry—just go, just go!
Seeing her remain silent, Su Yizhao dashed out of the cave at once. Inside, Feng Manyin watched his retreating figure and, for no reason, felt a wave of emptiness.
Suddenly, she remembered—she herself was a peak Sixth Spirit Realm cultivator! When had she started acting like a lovesick girl?
Su Yizhao, of course, knew nothing of her thoughts. He now faced the night, standing midair. Without Feng Manyin’s presence to hinder him, his consummate movement technique should allow him to escape even if he could not win—provided the middle-aged man was not a Void Realm master. Otherwise, escape or resistance would make no difference at all.
“Not running anymore?” The two men approached at incredible speed, appearing a hundred yards away in an instant. Hua Chengshuang’s face was twisted with malice, while the middle-aged man seemed surprised.
Su Yizhao’s heart pounded with anxiety. Nevertheless, he remained courteous and asked calmly, “I suppose your Void Realm experts must all be rather busy?”
The middle-aged man's expression changed slightly. Then, all at once, he burst out laughing. “An outstanding young man! Why not join us?”
Hearing this, Su Yizhao felt a measure of relief. Suddenly, he turned and called toward the cave, “Fellow Feng, come meet our guests!”

He was so nervous that he nearly stumbled over his words, almost shouting “receive the guests” instead—a rather different meaning.
With such enemies at hand, he could not possibly be calm. Still, no matter how tense, he had to fight for his life. He had never battled a Seventh Spirit Realm cultivator before, but it was still far better than meeting a Void Realm opponent. Yet, knowing the man was not Void Realm, why hadn’t he tried to escape earlier?
Behind him, from the cave, Feng Manyin instantly grasped the situation. In a flash, she darted out, calling urgently, “Don’t join them!”
Su Yizhao ignored her warning and addressed the middle-aged man: “I won’t be joining you—unless your ambition is grand enough.”
The man, sensing hope, replied boldly, “We will rebuild the entire cultivation order of the continent! Is that goal grand enough for you?”
Rebuild the continent’s cultivation order? What nonsense! Su Yizhao scoffed inwardly. If you don’t even plan to ascend to the upper realm, what kind of ‘grand ambition’ is that supposed to be?
Feigning thought, he probed further, “How many people do you have? Your organization?”
“Young man, don’t try to be too clever. It only breeds jealousy!” The middle-aged man refused to answer further.
Su Yizhao glanced at Hua Chengshuang. “Is he the jealous one?”
In an instant, Hua Chengshuang erupted in rage. “You’re courting death! Deputy Hall Master, he’s stalling for time and probing for information. Allow me to kill him!”
The middle-aged man shook his head in regret. “You kill the woman! Leave him to me.”
Hua Chengshuang protested, “He’s merely mid-Sixth Spirit Realm!”
The man fixed him with a stare and sighed, “Little Hua, what have you been cultivating? You haven’t even heard of the famous Brothel Swordsman, nor have you tried to meet him. You’re too lost in your own world.”
Su Yizhao was speechless. Feng Manyin’s face broke into a smile. Hua Chengshuang shuddered.
Brothel Swordsman—of course he knew the name! Rumored to be the finest practitioner of the Heavenly Sword Technique among the younger generation. With a single sword, he had demonstrated to all the cultivators in Kaoshan City what it meant to wield a sword that was ceaseless and unending—the true Heavenly Sword. That sword had utterly suppressed even the peak Sixth Realm.
He muttered, “The Brothel Swordsman? I can hardly believe it! This is no young man—he’s clearly an older fellow!”
Su Yizhao gave a bitter smile.
“Young man, we are always eager for talent. If you were not the Brothel Swordsman, your blood would already have colored these snowy mountains,” the middle-aged man intoned poetically, hoping to persuade him.
Su Yizhao shook his head. “I have my own ambitions. Yours are simply not grand enough.”
“Then die!”
Unable to contain himself any longer, Hua Chengshuang summoned his flying sword and struck at the pair. Feng Manyin, without hesitation, shouted and soared forward, meeting the oncoming silver light head-on. The middle-aged man sighed, “What a pity!”
Su Yizhao’s face grew tense as the man’s figure vanished in an instant.

Su Yizhao’s mind raced. In a heartbeat, he activated his consummate Leaping Technique.
In that split second, the middle-aged man appeared right before him, striking at his face with a fist.
“In front of a Seventh Spirit Realm master, you won’t even have the chance to draw your sword!” The man’s fist connected squarely.
But suddenly, the man’s expression changed. His silver fist passed through Su Yizhao’s face, and Su Yizhao’s entire body shattered into fragments.
At that instant, a burst of golden light erupted ten yards away—first nine streaks, then ten thousand!
Swish, swish, swish...
They pierced the void, arriving in a blink. The middle-aged man’s face changed again, and he murmured, “Defend!”
With a continuous onslaught of high-grade divine weapons, even he dared not take chances. In the night sky, countless afterimages merged into one, as Su Yizhao’s figure reappeared thirty yards away. His hands weaved rapid seals as he chanted under his breath.
“Chop, chop, chop, chop, chop...!”
Ten thousand golden swords struck, sparks flying, their sound shrill and piercing. Yet they had no effect.
Su Yizhao’s eyes fixed on the space before the middle-aged man. There, a shell the size of a human completely shielded him. By instinct, Su Yizhao knew it was this shell blocking the flying swords.
Suddenly, the shell advanced! The middle-aged man, shielded by the shell, pressed forward against the tide of golden light.
“A consummate spell! Truly a genius! Why not join us?” the man’s voice rang out from within the golden light, broken but still clear.
Su Yizhao’s face was resolute. Your ambitions are really not grand enough!
All at once, he felt his sword pierce nothing. In his spiritual sense, the middle-aged man had vanished in an instant—along with the giant shell!
Su Yizhao’s expression changed dramatically, every hair on his body standing on end as a wave of terror engulfed him. Life and death seemed to hang in the balance.
Without hesitation, he blurred into motion. Instantly, afterimages flickered across his form. In the space of a single breath, the sky was filled with ghostly figures—true and false, impossible to tell apart.
Yet to his horror, as soon as his true form landed ten yards away, a fist was already waiting for him, crashing toward him with deadly force...
