Qin Bailing was utterly stunned. She was shocked to the core; he could actually fly. What on earth had he been through to become so incredibly powerful? He was no longer the taciturn Lu Fei she once knew.

He had become exceptional, truly formidable.

She looked up at him. "Was it you who turned the tide at the Jiuzhou Safe Zone last time?"

"Yes. By the time I arrived, you had already fainted. Fortunately, I was on time. Besides, Li Chaodan and the Li family provided no support at all; it was only my people, Elder Zhang Jiu, and yours who fought to the end. Of course, I did the heavy lifting, and many of my companions perished, leaving only a few of the strongest."

Lu Fei shook his head as he spoke. Now that he had grown so powerful, he no longer feared eighth-tier zombies or the monsters from the sea; he could crush them with a single finger. "Li Chaodan didn't even show up, yet he later claimed on the news that he was the one who did it, that he was the one who drove away the zombie and wasteland beast hordes. That guy is truly shameless."

"He has always been that shameless."

Hearing Lu Fei's words, a look of disgust crossed Qin Bailing's face. She knew exactly what kind of person Li Chaodan was—someone capable of anything, so it was no surprise he would do something like that.

...

Half a day later.

At the Jiuzhou Safe Zone, the zombie and wasteland beast armies were pressing in. Although the barbed wire had been repaired, there were few people left with the strength to fight.

Only Lu Fei's clone, Zeng Hongsen, Little Dragon Maiden, Zhao Liying, Liu Yanmeng, Zeng Shuna, Hua Qianyu, Zhao Weixin, Elder Zhang Jiu, and the divine beast—Teddy—remained.

Lu Fei's clone led them all to the front lines.

The zombies and beasts were packed densely. An eighth-tier Zombie King stood at the front, while an eighth-tier Shark King, wielding a three-pointed, double-edged spear, stood to the side. The Shark King was completely bare, wearing only animal hide; he was tall, muscular, and his skin had a pale, fish-like sheen.

The eighth-tier Zombie King was dressed in black and white, with two white horns protruding from his head. Black patterns marred his white skin, giving him a bizarre and ominous appearance. He held a massive, rusted sword, his cold eyes fixed on the Lu Fei clone leading the defense.

Against them, the current strength of Lu Fei's clone was barely enough.

However, Lu Fei could still block their attacks; after all, his strength was sufficient to contend with two eighth-tier monsters.

A primitive, mournful roar echoed from afar—"Oooooh..." It made everyone tense. It was the signal that the zombies and beasts were about to attack.

Lu Fei's clone looked at Zeng Hongsen and the others. "Activate the Four Symbols Defensive Formation."

"Yes, Boss!" Zeng Hongsen and the others nodded and initiated the most powerful formation mode. Lu Fei stood at the very front within the formation, facing the sea of zombies and beasts.

"Boom, boom..." The massive zombies and wasteland beasts lunged forward, swinging giant axes and long spears, crashing against the formation.

Yet, they were blocked by the semi-transparent, circular barrier. The barrier did not vibrate in the slightest, and the zombies and beasts were all sent recoiling with agonizing shrieks.

Blood splattered everywhere. Thousands of zombies and beasts were killed, but their numbers were endless. Only after thousands had fallen did the eighth-tier Zombie King call a halt to the assault, and the quasi-king beasts followed suit.

The eighth-tier Zombie King, Sang Wu, frowned as he stared at the protected safe zone. "Do humans only know how to play the coward? Hiding inside forever, never daring to come out?"

"Playing the coward—well put. Indeed, they are very timid," the eighth-tier Shark King added with a cold sneer. In their eyes, humans were merely food, but they had not expected them to be so clever. It was proving difficult to wipe them out.

"Heh... are you idiots? We are so few in number, and we have the formation to protect us; why would we come out to throw our lives away? If you have the guts, come and attack us!" Zeng Hongsen roared. These zombies and beasts were truly relentless. After the apocalypse, humanity had been reduced to a precarious state, stripped of its former advantages and forced into a corner.

"Heh... a lowly human, daring to speak to me like that!" Sang Wu’s eyes turned icy. He was taken aback by the fat man's audacity. He snorted, and a terrifying light shot from his eyes. Zeng Hongsen felt a sudden jolt, as if he had been plunged into hell; the gaze was so horrific that he involuntarily took a few steps back.

"Noisy."

Lu Fei’s clone gave a low shout. Anyone who dared to intimidate his people was looking for death. "I'll come out and play with you two eighth-tier monsters."

Lu Fei did this because he possessed an immortal body; he could never truly die, for as long as his main body existed, he would never be extinguished.

No matter how long the battle lasted, he was not afraid. No matter how powerful the enemy, he was not afraid. No matter how many times he died, he was not afraid.

This was the ironclad resolve to protect his home, the hot-blooded heart bestowed upon him by Lu Fei’s main body.

"Boss," Zeng Shuna said, filled with worry.

"Should I go out and play with them too?" Little Dragon Maiden had changed since a few days ago; she had become much stronger.

"No need. You stay inside and maintain the formation; I will handle all of this."

Lu Fei's clone walked out of the barrier with his hands behind his back, looking calm and composed.

"Heh... you humans are quite brave. Last time, you were the one who drove away our six quasi-kings and even killed one. I truly admire you, but today, you will die here." Sang Wu stared at Lu Fei with cold, murderous eyes, as if looking at a dead man. This was the confidence born of his immense power.

"Oh, it’s fine. If you have the guts, try to kill me. If you can manage it, I’ll be very happy," Lu Fei’s clone said playfully as he continued to walk forward.

"Interesting. You humans show a powerful aura; it’s not just for show. I’ll come and play with you."

The eighth-tier Shark King, wielding his three-pointed, double-edged spear, walked toward Lu Fei step by step, casting a glance at the eighth-tier Zombie King.

"You can go first and play with him. It would be best if you toyed with him to death, then we can wipe out the Jiuzhou Safe Zone," the eighth-tier Zombie King said cruelly.

"That I can do." The Shark King smiled, looking confident. He approached Lu Fei’s clone, stopped ten meters away, and thrust his spear forward. "Boom..." A five-meter-high tidal wave surged toward Lu Fei’s clone. He certainly wasn't holding back.

"Clang..." Lu Fei’s clone drew an iron sword and slashed out—the "One Sword, Two Halves" technique.

The incoming wave was cleaved in two, rushing off to the sides without posing any threat at all.

"Damn... this human actually has some skill."

The eighth-tier Shark King was surprised. He lunged forward, his spear radiating a terrifying aura as he thrust it toward Lu Fei.

"Boom..." The strike erupted, sending a blast of water surging in all directions.
