“Do you know where it is?” Qin Bailing asked Lu Fei with surprise.

“I can see it—the dark energy hovering over that corpse. Plus, using the ‘Forward’ secret from the Nine-Character Technique, I can predict the direction of what’s about to happen,” Lu Fei explained seriously. “Pretty impressive, right?”

“The ‘Forward’ secret from the Nine-Character Technique?” Qin Bailing was completely lost. “So, it’s a method that can predict the future?”

“You could call it a Taoist art,” Lu Fei replied earnestly. The vehicle had reached their destination. How the Yinming Clan managed to infiltrate the barrier undetected was still a mystery.

Why would they kill inside the safe zone? Was it revenge for me wounding that Yinming woman before? Or was it simply wanton killing to sow chaos among the people here? To spread fear and unrest?

Qin Bailing nodded thoughtfully. Lu Fei slowed the car, parked it to the side, then got out and started walking. Qin Bailing followed him. They arrived at the town hospital’s main entrance.

“It seems the Yinming Clan might strike here,” Lu Fei said, glancing around. Although fewer people came here compared to the past apocalyptic days, the hospital still saw patients regularly. Ordinary people get sick, after all. The safe zone’s systems rely on order and care; if those are damaged—like the vegetables grown inside—the consequences would be catastrophic.

Li Chaodan had fled, leaving only the family head behind. That guy was no better than Li Chaodan.

Lu Fei stepped inside the hospital, his Reincarnation Eye activated, scanning the surroundings. The heavy aura of Yin energy was palpable. Some people’s faces were pale—clearly, the Yinming Clan had been here and set up a formation to gather dark energy. This hospital was full of the mundane life’s hustle and bustle, but also a place where many faced life and death. Why the Yinming Clan targeted this place, Lu Fei had yet to uncover. The enemy was hiding deep within.

Turning to Qin Bailing, Lu Fei pulled out his phone and received a call from Zeng Hongsen. “Boss, we’re waiting for you at the restaurant. Why aren’t you here yet?”

“Oh, I forgot. Everyone wants to celebrate today’s victory together. I’ll be there shortly.”

Lu Fei ended the satellite call and looked at Qin Bailing. “Let’s go, eat first, then discuss this.”

“All right, but the restaurant’s quite far,” Qin Bailing said, noting it took half an hour to drive there.

“I can fly!” Lu Fei smiled, scooped up Qin Bailing, and soared toward the restaurant, leaving the car parked lonely at the side.

Soon, they landed beside the restaurant and walked in hand in hand. The handsome man and beautiful woman naturally drew envy from many.

“Boss… sister-in-law,” Zeng Hongsen greeted warmly, standing to pull out chairs for Lu Fei and Qin Bailing before sitting down himself.

“Boss…” others chimed in.

Zhao Liying looked on with jealousy. She hadn’t expected Lu Fei to be holding Qin Bailing’s hand. Times were different now—no laws, only human nature. She thought perhaps becoming Lu Fei’s concubine wasn’t out of the question.

Little Dragon Girl hummed quietly, munching on peanuts.

“All right, everyone order whatever you want,” Lu Fei said, picking up the menu and choosing two dishes he knew Qin Bailing liked, then handing the menu over. “Pick whatever you like—my treat.”

“Great!” Ma Bi was delighted and also ordered dishes.

Outside, an older man named Zhang Jiu entered, smiling at Lu Fei. Unlike before, he no longer looked down on the younger generation but respectfully bowed.

“Old Zhang’s here too. Join us,” Lu Fei said happily. The old man was powerful and righteous—a rare ally.

“Thank you,” Zhang Jiu sat beside Lu Fei and said, “The Li family did nothing during the two disasters in the safe zone. They control many of its lifelines. We must either eliminate or subdue them. We cannot let such people govern the safe zone.”

“I know, I’ll handle it. But you’ve heard about the recent incident here, right? It’s definitely the Yinming Clan. I tracked them to the town hospital and saw them setting up a formation. They have some sinister plan, but I don’t know their intentions yet. After dinner, Zeng Hongsen and Ma Bi will covertly observe the hospital. I’ll give you some Spirit-Sealing Talismans.”

When everyone finished eating, they would head to the Li family estate to seize power—or destroy them.

Lu Fei smiled as dishes arrived, chatting and laughing with the group. They were gearing up to take control of the safe zone; no longer would cowardly leaders rule. Excitement buzzed in the air.

“Boss is right. We fought tooth and nail twice, but the Li family did nothing and claimed credit for defeating the zombie and wild beast hordes. Shameless! They need to learn our strength,” Zeng Hongsen said earnestly, though he was regretful he couldn’t go himself.

“Yeah, the safe zone’s power should belong to Boss. The Li family lacks virtue and ability; they don’t deserve to lead,” Zhao Liying agreed.

“How do we monitor the hospital where the Yinming Clan is? It gives me the creeps,” Ma Bi asked respectfully while eating.

“Simple. You two take shifts watching for anything unusual and alert me immediately. I’ll rush over. We don’t know how many of them there are, so be cautious,” Lu Fei instructed seriously, then placed some food in Qin Bailing’s bowl.

“Ah… so sweet,” Ma Bi exclaimed, clearly touched by Lu Fei’s gesture.

“Stop making a fuss. We’ll have wives soon enough,” Zeng Hongsen teased Ma Bi, smiling as he ate.

“You two flatter me!” Little Dragon Girl rolled her eyes.

After the meal, Lu Fei took out twenty Spirit-Sealing Talismans, gave them to Zeng Hongsen and Ma Bi, and taught them how to use them. Then they split up to begin their missions.

Zeng Hongsen and Ma Bi pretended to be patients wandering around the hospital. They soon spotted a stunningly beautiful nurse with pure features and large, sparkling eyes. They were so entranced they almost drooled. Ma Bi was especially stunned until Zeng Hongsen knocked some sense into him with a punch.

Meanwhile, Lu Fei headed toward the Li family estate—a vast complex with buildings of varying heights.
