Chapter 90: Ice Phoenix [Recommended Votes]
The blade light spun violently in the hand of the male quasi-zombie king, then was crushed apart with a sudden snap. Frost flew in all directions, yet the male quasi-zombie king remained utterly unharmed, only turning a cold gaze upon the Dragon Girl.
"Not bad, but unfortunate for you. Since you’ve met me, you can only lose."
"Is that so?" the Dragon Girl said icily. She was indeed no match for him, but she could still buy time.
"If you can catch me, I’ll admit defeat and become a zombie."
She spoke with confidence, a sly gleam flickering in her eyes.
"Heh, fine. Then let’s see who’s faster. That bird thinks it’s quick, but it’s still not as fast as I am."
The male quasi-zombie king spoke in a frosty tone, full of confidence.
Meanwhile, the injured male sparrow quasi-demon king nearby roared in fury.
"You damned zombie, I hope you get tricked to death in a moment."
"I’ll be tricked to death? The destruction of these humans is only a matter of minutes. Playing with them a little is nothing. Otherwise, a zombie’s life would be far too dull."
The male quasi-zombie king smiled as he spoke, then instantly pursued the Dragon Girl, who was using Phantom Wave Steps.
"Damn it, how is she so fast?" The male quasi-zombie king could not catch her and froze in shock. As he ran and ran, he could no longer even see her figure. This was unbelievable. Where had she gone?
Suddenly, a sword appeared out of nowhere and slashed toward the male quasi-zombie king’s neck.
As swift as lightning, the blade was sharp and merciless. Blood sprayed everywhere.
But the male quasi-zombie king’s skin was far too thick. The sword only left a wound before he dodged away in a bizarre twisting motion, leaping aside. The injury at his neck then slowly began to heal.
"Damn it, she can even turn invisible? Playing hide-and-seek with me?"
The male quasi-zombie king could not help but sneer, then smashed a fist into the ground.
The earth trembled within a radius of a thousand meters. Centered on the male quasi-zombie king, cracks spread outward like a spiderweb, yet the Dragon Girl still did not appear.
"Fuck, this is insane. What is going on?"
The male quasi-zombie king completely failed to discover where the Dragon Girl was.
"Heh..."
Suddenly, the Dragon Girl emerged from behind the zombie king and struck with her sword. Sword qi swept violently through the air.
Then another slash came from his flank.
And then she vanished again.
The male zombie quasi-king was utterly unable to sense the Dragon Girl’s position.
He was furious, completely forced into passivity.
"Ah!"
He roared, deathly qi swirling around his body and surging in all directions, wild power seeking to blast the Dragon Girl out of hiding. Yet even then, she was still not struck.
This drove the male quasi-zombie king into boundless rage.
"Enough fooling around. Kill them all."
At last the male quasi-zombie king lost his temper. He had never expected this little woman to be so detestable. Only by doing this might he force her out.
Whoosh, whoosh—
Suddenly the Dragon Girl’s figure flashed into view, and she unleashed fierce sword light toward the four quasi-kings, then disappeared again.
"This human woman must be entering another space, so-called invisibility. She can only be caught by detecting spatial fluctuations, and that is very difficult," the butterfly quasi-demon king frowned and guessed.
The Dragon Girl had indeed slipped into another space, like a mirror in which she could see everything happening in the human world, while others could not see her at all.
It was a wondrous and unusual form of invisibility. Unless the enemy was strong enough to collapse space itself, there was no possibility of breaking it at present.
Boom, boom, boom...
Several streams of sword qi were blocked by the quasi-demon kings.
With cold smiles, they charged toward Qin Bailing, Zhang Jiulao, Zeng Hongsen, and the others.
In an instant, the moment of life and death arrived, and everyone’s hearts rose into their throats.
And there were still zombie and savage beast hordes of the third, fourth, and fifth ranks rushing in as well.
Zeng Hongsen fought forward, throwing himself into the battle. Of course, this was an utterly one-sided struggle: whoever charged in would either be injured or killed.
Even with the Dragon Girl drawing them off, victory remained elusive. Liu Huoyanmeng also joined the fight, aiming laser cannons at the quasi-kings, while nuclear bombs blasted toward the distant tide of zombies and savage beasts.
Zeng Hongsen was drenched in blood and despair, thinking of that person, the leader named Luffy. He hoped Luffy would come, or else they would be wiped out completely.
Arrows flew from Zhao Liying’s bow, falling like meteors from the sky. Wherever they landed, great holes were blasted open, and several zombies and savage beasts fell dead.
Zhao Liying stood at a distance, shooting zombies and beasts from afar, but their numbers were too great, and the five zombie kings were monstrously powerful. The laser cannons could not harm them at all.
Qin Bailing’s entire body radiated frost, an air of desolation spreading outward and making both the battle-mad humans and the zombie beast hordes feel its terrifying pressure.
Her strength had actually risen far beyond what it had been at the fourth rank, and the plants and trees around them were frozen solid by the overwhelming frost.
One cannot forever hide one’s strength. At the brink of death, one must fight with everything.
The three of them against five quasi-kings was no different from striking a stone with an egg, but if no one fought with all they had, who could know the outcome?
Had you ever fought for someone with your life on the line?
At this moment, they were fighting for their families, their friends, and their homeland.
All of them were worthy of respect and tears.
Many had already fallen beneath the zombie and savage beast tide.
Qin Bailing’s powerful aura shocked even the quasi-kings. They had not expected a little girl to unleash such strength. The female butterfly quasi-demon king charged toward Qin Bailing.
"My lovely little girl, I’ll slowly poison you to death. Don’t be afraid; I’ll preserve your body perfectly inside a silken cocoon. You will become my collection."
The female butterfly quasi-demon king’s voice was enchanting. "But the aura on your body is truly frightening. This is the first time I’ve met such a cold woman."
"Is that so? Then I’ll make sure you enjoy a fine feast of ice and snow."
Qin Bailing’s eyes also turned ice-cold. Frost formed upon the sword in her hand, and chilling air poured off it.
Her youthful face was filled with determination. She slashed at the female butterfly quasi-demon king, and her figure vanished at the same time.
Crackling sounds rang out as cold sword qi erupted from the ground, and wherever it passed, ice spikes shot up from the earth.
"Interesting," the female butterfly quasi-demon king said coldly. She swept her hands forward, and purple mist surged outward.
Driven back by the purple haze, Qin Bailing retreated from the female butterfly quasi-demon king’s side. The frost swirling around her body spun even faster, because the purple mist was poisonous, and the grass on the ground withered away continuously.
"You’re quite clever, actually, to know the purple mist is poisonous," the female butterfly quasi-demon king sneered. Dropping from the sky, she struck at Qin Bailing with a palm as swift as lightning.
That palm was transformed from purple mist, utterly venomous.
Qin Bailing raised her sword and slashed forward. Frost swept across the battlefield and froze the poison palm.
With a loud shout, she thrust forward, and a phoenix of ice flew toward the female butterfly quasi-demon king, majestic and overbearing.
"Interesting. You even have such a powerful attack."
The wings behind the female butterfly quasi-demon king beat rapidly, stirring up a whirl of purple poisonous wind that swallowed the ice phoenix whole.
